By now, i know that Bob HAS to be in the game - he just got to involved to quit:).

YET as for the main character....

Highest time to start a story contest. THEN we can make a true honest decision.

Story has to have any/every? of the 3 characters left involved.
The rest is up to you/us.

I'm lazy:)
And besides, people who are in common(?) with 3d programs usually have a lot of patience and get very good effects of their work. my ability of 3d animating is archaic (literally, i use a program dated 1998!)
and insufficient for goals i placed before me right now...
well, theoretically i can always try harder, but:)...

oh, SuPi, have i mentioned i liked your Aura character impression?:)

though i liked it, this isn't quite the thing i would want you to do. the thing is much tougher - background art. still feeling fit for it?:)

In fact, i need pro musicians much more, i'm sick of mailing requests... yet i doubt i will find people sick enough to write soundtracks for me out here on NG...

(character campaign begins:)

Bob's twisted alter ego - the infamous 1337 M4N!

Being not much of an effective killer himself, Bob has the ability to change into 1337 M4n after killing a certain amount of innocent people or after performing some mega-powered combo.

Equipped with a 2-handed sword 3 times his size, he slices and dices the s**t out of his terrified opponents...

this is Bob the Nerd.

A statistical NG viewer:).
He is out to kill to make people "ph33r" him. Actually, he got very angry because other people say he's stupid and he's a nerd. Now (for the first time in his life) he is out on the streets to learn these bastards a lesson of pain.

can use front teeth as melee attack.

can be even more simplified for animating purposes.

other than that you can do whatever you want.. dont stress making up a story for it yet just a character design is cool we can have another brainstorm for the idea of the story later on.. once we have enough characters we'll have regis stop the traffic and we'll have people vote on the character in a seperate thread... we'll call it which character do you think is cool..

i can agree with that bwoss:), yet i want to put one more extra condition, just not to get a stampede of characters only trying to be "cool" and nothing else.

starting now, when someone introduces a character, he has to say at least a few words of BRIEF story - where did the character come from and what the hell is he supposed to do in a game.
ok, it's 2 AM, i'm still a bit drunk and i'm going to sleep now.

time for some serious concepts...
i suggest something that just EVERYBODY will love... judging by newest social surveys, this game would steal the hearts of millions.
and that is...
SENSELESS VIOLENCE!!!
Killing zombies, daemons, beasts, soldiers, grannies and little children without any good reason. brilliant and original eh?
our hero would be a badly mutated Sylvester Stallone clone that was supposed to be used as a stunt double in Rambo 3 but got completely insane and proved to be extremely dangerous to the environment. picture supplied.

to your suprise, i did READ it, and said what i personally think of it.
it's about effort. you don't want any effort in it, it's not worthy of my extremely precious time then.
time is money.
Why should i waste it like this then, when i can sleep 15h/day, or watch B class movies, or go eat a kebab - i need a good reason:)

heh, how about before introducing characters, think up a concept?... and the general type of the game?...
i think there are generally 2 types of things we can do:

-an adventure game
-a beat/shoot'em up

oh, and if i am to be involved in a project, it has to be BIG. or at least big enough. i.e. i don't want to waste my time for a for a button->nextscene semi-game.
if we want a game, we need AS and people who know how to use it.

...and i need to like the idea:)

since we've turned this thread into somewhat of a small community i was curious to know if anyone wants to work on a flash game.. nothin insanely complex ... i just feel like putting the talents of the people in this thread to some sort of good use .. and flash games are probably the one coop-type of project that can be done with multiple parties without stepping on each others toes (atleast not too much). Does that sound at all interesting to anyone?

i'm into it.
the ONLY things we need are:
- a good idea (shouldn't be a problem)
- ...that everyone would agree with (MAY be a problem)
- except from extremely talented artists like us:), extremely talented programmers...

we have these tiny details settled and we're ready to go....

heh
no, this time i used BOTH hands - i got myself a drawing tablet and used it intesively (what i think can be seen), yet there where things which just couldn't have been done with a tablet. so, often it happened that i used a drawing pad and a mouse at the same time:)
