Recently after visiting my Psychologist, for Anxiety (Irrational thinking kind of anxiety) we got into, an off topic discussion about the brain. She was telling me that the brain is a very powerful body organ/human part. So I started asking her different questions.
Our brain is very powerful right? Everything in our surrounding areas is thought up on what our brain thinks is there and how it registers reality. How our brain wants to vision and feel it's surroundings.
So I was asking her is. Is it possible that if there was aliens, and other intelligent beings out there, would they see the world the same way we do? Would they see us as humans, with legs and arms and hair? Or would they see us as something different. Maybe blue, with 4 arms. Just an example.
But what made me kind of puzzled is the brain we use. Something that may seem a little more realistic. Can we alter reality amongst ourselves using the power of our brain? Like the sky is blue due to reflections and how our eyes see them through the nerves in the brain. What if you could change that. What if I thought the sky was orange. Is there a way so I can make it look orange to me. Afterall, everything in my surroundings is just what my brain whats to percieve as whats really going on.
Another thing I wanted to understand. Could we make up physical contact situations. Such as. Is there a way I could believe that a person was there, that wasn't really there and shake their hand. And actually feel the hand of the other person. Even if the person is really not there. If my mind thinks that what im seeing is reality why can't my brain also tell my body that what im seeing is actually happening.
So my main thing I was wondering the whole time. Is there a way maybe in the future that human beings will be able to tap into their own minds, or even have a surgery to change their entire view of reality. Because the brain is extremely complicated, complex and powerful.
If your brain actually thinks somethings there and it's touching, you and you can feel it, even though it might not really be there to other people. Whats stopping your brain from really thinking what you're seeing is real and actually feeling it.
Whats the difference of a real person holding my hand and my brain knows someones there, instead of no one being there but my mind actually thinking someone is there, and i can still feel them, touch them and see them?
Afterall, our brain is the one telling us if someones really there or not in the first place. So how do we know what were looking at right now really is happening or not?
