"Some reports say that Revolution may come out on Spring 2006 while others say that in Summer or Fall, but Nintendo has refused to comfirm the date. The system pirce tag, however is a little easier to chart. Analysts expect it to hit for between $200 and $250.
Eh I can wait. Just let em perfect the thing. But damn that's cheap! For sure I'm gonna buy it.
"The DVD Support sold separately: ...the Revolution won't play DVD movies out the box. Instead you'll need to buy a device to enable DVD play. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said "We don't want them to spend extra money just to have the DVD-player capability." We give this a minus on our scorecard."
"We give this a minus on our scorecard." What the fuck!? You don't buy a gaming console to watch movies, you buy it to play the games, dude! Blah, EGM morons.
It's better that they're selling it seperately, if you're too cheap to buy an actual DVD player (and who is? they're like $50 now) then get the expansion for the Revolution.
"Unsupersized: ...The final Revolution unit will be even slimmer than the one shown by Nintendo at E3. Simulate the size at home by stacking three DVD-movie cases and wraping them in Scotch tape. We give this a plus on our scorecard."
Space saver, awesome. Much better than those big, unstackable consoles. I can't stack em up! I need to for my chair beside my couch, lol.
"Super Backward Compatibility: ...Nintendo's calling it the Revolution's secret weapon: the ability to download (for a fee) and play games from the past 20 years of the company's console library. Also the old games will be improve by the graphics of today. We give this a plus on our scorecard"
Sounds awesome. Of course we already knew they were doing this, but oh well. I do hope they'll also have N64 games.
"Wi-Fi Only: ... Yes, we're happy that Nintendo is finally embracing online with next console (better still, its online service will be free). The only downside: The Revolution doesn't have a standard Ethernet jack: it only supports Wi-Fi connectivity. Nintendo has released a report of Wi-Fi games, "...the only game that will use Wi-Fi will the Revlution come out will be the new Super Smash Bros., but after a few months later we'll guess by that time we may have over 20 games using Wi-Fi." We give this a minus on our scorecard."
What the fuck is Wi-Fi? Serriously, someone answer me cause I have no idea.
"The HD Error: ..".HDTV for Nintendo is a lot like their online philosophy from this past generation," says one analyst we spoke with. The Revolution will support resolutions no crisper than 480p- the same standard used by first-party GameCube games in the current generation. We give this a minus on our scorecard."
Oh no! Only 480p-?! Psh who cares I don't own an HDTV.
"Expandability: ... In addition to two USB 2.0 ports (a first for a Nintendo console), the Revolution will accept an SD memory card to expand the internal flash memory. Nintendo's Iwata says these ports will give players the option of adding a hard drive. The more common use: You'll be able to take downloaded games and othercontent to a pal's system, unless you'd rather send it to their Revolution over the internet. We give this a plus on our scorecard."
Sweet dude, that sounds awesome. Free games? Yeah someone charges one and sends it over the net, unless there's some sort of downloading fee. That would suck but I guess it'd make it full proof.
"The Mystery Controller: ..."I believe the analog joystick for the N64 changed games and the touch pad for the DS changed games," says Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. "And I really want to change the game again with the controller for the Revolution. I think you'll be surprised when you see it." That's great, so why don't you show it to us already? The Revolution controller-rumored to be everything from a customizable touch screen to tilt-sensitive gyroscopes. Don't forget the rumble ability. We give this a plus on our scorecard."
Ah the infamous Revolution controller. It sounds pretty good, it's gotta be, I can't wait to see it. So it's customizable? That's fuckin' sweet. Pimp my controller, dude. God I hate Pimp my Ride, lol.
"Where are all your favorite Nintendo franchises headed? For sure Mario128 will be for Revolution and Nintendo is trying finish this so it can be released at the same time when Revolution is out. Super Smash Bros. will also head for Revolution and this time the big weapon for this game will be going online and more new fighters. Who knows maybe Wario, Warluigi, Daisy, Dark Link, Diddy Kong and Blood Falcon maybe the ones to join. Word out that Metroid Prime 3 will also head for Revolution, it's guess to luanch four-to-six months after the release of Revolution. The Legend of Zelda series will not stop, instead the series will go to the Revolution and one is underway. Rumors believe that the next Zelda game will take 50 to 100 years palce after the Wind Waker. The only one missing for know is Donkey Kong. Nintendo tells us that right now they are going with GameCube for Donkey Kong, but it may go for Revolution sometime."
Ah, the Zelda series will indeed never die. They just gotta get a new storyline. Aren't you just tired of collecting 3 items, then collecting 7 more items, then defeating Ganondorf again to save the princess? Ha ha, well I guess not really cause even I don't get tired of it, it's still damn fun. But 50 to 100 years ofter WW? Sounds pretty good. It won't be in the same area will it? WAit, no don't answer that, that'd be retarded. A new Super Smash Bros., who knew? Ha ha, I'm sure they'll add even more characters and levels this time. Yay, more work! I'm not much of a fan of Donkey Kong. It really started and ended with Donkey Kong Country. Mario 128 looks awesome, but it looks more of a DS, or Gamecube game. Still looks great though.
"Total for our scorecard is 4 plus and 3 minus, a B-. Not bad for Nintendo."
Fuck EGM.
