Oh, that was a live speech? Here I thought it was a rerun.
I love Snickers bars. I wasn't supposed to eat them when I had braces as a middle schooler, but I did anyway. They're a bitch to pick out of braces.
That didn't take long at all. He died an hour ago. Mom and Dad went to see him yesterday and they said he looked good. Guess not. Only thing is figuring out arrangements now so I can plan work coverage accordingly.
And just what I needed to top off the week: a pregnancy scare. Been nauseous all week and my insides haven't worked since I moved last month. This would be the time for morning sickness if I were pregnant, but thankfully, I'm not. Though this is more of all-day sickness.
I can't really seem to find any good answers for this, but how long can someone survive without food? My uncle has Stage IV esophageal cancer and can't keep anything down. So he had a feeding tube put in, but even with that, he can't keep anything down. He asked that they stop using the feeding tube or feeding him, period, and his children concurred with the decision. They're still giving him water and, I think, IVs. Obviously he's in pretty bad shape, so I don't think the "3 week" period would apply here.
Honestly, we're all surprised he's still alive. We figured he'd die soon after his wife, which was four years ago. I'm just wondering when something will happen, because I'll need to find coverage at work to attend a funeral.

I'm picturing you running after toddlers with a banhammer.
I'm getting this shit from my in-laws and some of their extended family. Now that my husband and I have a house, we're expected to breed. Of course, there is a 99.5% chance I will be childfree. I HAVE been considering getting fixed, though I don't want to go under the knife at this time if my birth control pills are still working. I have zero desire to have children. Dogs, sure. But I would much rather have a career than be a mother. Yeah, there's the whole "working mother" thing, but it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. I know what will make me happy in life, and children are not part of the equation.
Before Christmas, my husband and I were at his parents' house with his extended family. I was sitting on a couch between my husband and my father-in-law. Everyone was asking us about the house, since we had just moved. My husband said the previous owners left the instruction manuals for everything they ever owned, so there's ones in there we won't need, like the one for the crib. My father-in-law elbowed me and said "Hint, hint."
Next time my husband sees his parents, he's pulling his dad aside and telling him the comments stop NOW. When we got home, I told him I wanted to establish right then and there that I am not a brood mare for his side of the family.
From what I've been reading, the polar vortex may be hanging around the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic states during the Super Bowl. Who thought holding it in Jersey during the winter was a good idea?
Of course, if it were in California, that would be its own set of problems.
Anyone wanna make this happen? Granted, I dunno if the South Side is a safe place anymore, but I'm sure we can work it out. There are bars on every corner. Why do you think "Kingpin" was shot in Pittsburgh?
Now, you don't have to be a Pittsburgher to make this happen. Latrobe? Washington? We'll take you. I just want a survey of who's where.

Also, these are some of the most one sided refs.....
Wonder if these were the same refs from Super Bowl XL.
Right after Marshawn Lynch ran that TD pass, my husband (who is at work) sent me a text reading "BEAST MODE MOTHERFUCKERS." (Those who read Pro Football Mock will understand.)
Finally, we have a game.
All I wanted was the Patriots to lose. Now I'm happy. Seriously, fuck them. Interesting to hear that Brady was playing injured all year though.
I am thinking it'll be 49ers-Broncos in the big game, but I could be wrong. Both the 49ers and the Seahawks have weaknesses that can be exploited, but I think the Seahawks are the weaker team at this point.

Columbine shooters - Too young to vote but both families were registered
Democrats and progressive liberals.
I get the point you're making here, but I think Columbine was more of a case of the parents being too busy being rich to bother being parents. How do you not notice your kids building bombs in your garage, let alone what's happening with them at school?
The site is firing on all cylinders. No more buffering or lagging when I watch videos.
Here's hoping the Broncos remind the Chargers they don't belong in the playoffs.
The Panthers-49ers matchup will probably be a close slugfest. My gut instinct tells me the 49ers will pull this one out, but I could be wrong.

Like I said before: the Saints are E.T. They die if they're away from the Superdome.
I imagine the GIFs here will be making the rounds. Also, LOL. I forgot about that part of the movie.
Patriots up now. I think Andrew Luck is out of luck, but I wouldn't mind the Colts winning just because I hate the Patriots.

Ah shit. I was hoping Bruno Mars was out.
Here's a Colts-Patriots preview, Taiwanese animation style. Major WTF factor, but the game would be a lot more entertaining if this stuff went on.
I think the road to the Super Bowl runs through Seattle, but I am unsure about the AFC side of things.
Oh look, they're standing six abreast!
I used to seriously freak out at the thought of LASIK surgery, but now I'm seriously thinking of having it done. Not certain yet though. Though I will definitely need to wait until after my insurance changes at work, since we're switching providers.
I'm allergic to the nickel in my glasses. I've been using clear nail polish as a fix, but now I'm starting to get raccoon eyes. The really weird part of this is I only get them if I wear my glasses in the morning, never in the evening or nighttime. It's very weird. At first I thought about changing my glasses, but then I thought I could get rid of the whole contacts/glasses mess for good, especially since my optometrist had already said I'm a good candidate for LASIK.
When I was in Vegas in October, I went to one of Gordon Ramsey's restaurants for lunch. I had the spotted dick for dessert, and it was the best thing I ate in the city. That's saying a lot, because I ate at some damn good restaurants.
TV Tropes has a whole page dedicated to the double standard of violence between women and men in entertainment. As you know, if a man beats up a woman, it's terrible. If a woman beats up a man, it's played for laughs.
I'm also quite disillusioned with modern-day feminism. Feminists used to fight for legitimate things like voting rights and the ability to have their own checking accounts, but anymore it seems to be more about bashing or bringing men down rather than fighting to have the sexes on equal ground. By that, I mean western feminism. Feminism is beginning to take off in some Islamic countries, and let's face it, they need it.
Hey, he has to pay all that back child support SOMEHOW...
I stuck my hand outside the door to get a package the UPS guy left. Big mistake. My hand hurt for awhile. No wonder he cut through our yard instead of taking the walkway. Well, that and the walkway was icy.
My in-laws are harassing us to have kids now that we have a house. Even if we wanted them, we just bought a house. Where the hell would we get the money?
I'm happy with my life as it is and have no desire to have children. I'd rather have a career. Even as a child, I played with career-oriented Barbies, not baby dolls.

I heard that if it gets cold enough, there is a risk of the ball shattering during a kick. I don't know if that's true, but I am expecting a lot of frozen balls in Green Bay tonight.
Clinton signed the repeal of Glass-Steagall, which helped lead to the 2008 meltdown. He was also behind the "everyone deserves to own a home" bullshit that led to lenders giving mortgages to basically any idiot with a pulse. Also, he gutted the CIA after the Cold War, leaving the nation vulnerable and the CIA incompetent. Not that it didn't have its problems before, but you can't remove all the experts and expect things to function as well. Then there's the whole NAFTA business, though IIRC that was initially drafted under Bush 41. I'd have to look that up.
It's said that presidents have two presidencies: domestic and foreign. For the most part, Clinton did well as a domestic president, but as a foreign one, he was terrible for the CIA reason and for being soft on terror (also stemming from the CIA). Very rarely does any president have a good domestic AND foreign presidency.
I would argue that our best president might be FDR for how he handled WWII. His New Deal certainly helped, but the war effort is what got the country back on track. Also, four terms? No wonder he died in office, especially with the stress of the war.
I think the Eagles have a quarterback. Nick Foles has done a damn good job of stepping up to the plate this year. If Chip Kelly can manage to plug the holes in the defense, the Eagles will be a force to be reckoned with.
I'm not a Colts fan, but I must say I enjoyed this errant tweet immensely. Lose the beard and I'd do him.
(Seriously, people: check your surroundings before you take photos. I'm pretty sure locker room photos aren't allowed, too?)
I read that someone stole a shit ton of eggs too. You know what's happening? Someone is planning on making a really, REALLY big breakfast.
I imagine the maple syrup heist was something like Breaking Bad, except WAY slower.
Hopefully the Bengals don't turn into the Cowboys of the AFC North. While they have been looking good, I still have my doubts about Andy Dalton.
Regardless if it were the Chargers or the Steelers, neither team belongs in the playoffs. I expect a quick exit.
Nick Foles has done a damn good job for the Eagles, but I fear Andy Reid eviscerated their defense. They have the advantage, though, as apparently the Saints are E.T. and can't score points away from the Superdome.
From what I am reading, the forecast for the 49ers-Packers game is -1 Fahrenheit with a --23 wind chill. Not just the fans, but the players and staff will have to worry about the conditions. Not only could it have an effect on the game (e.g. ability to hold onto the ball), I also wonder how safe that is. Extreme cold is nothing to screw around with.
I think a very large part of the dysfunction of the Cleveland Browns comes from the fact they do not keep a head coach long enough for him to make a difference. Players need stability. You need to leave a new coach's system in effect long enough for players to learn it and give it time to work. I think they were finally beginning to move in the right direction with Pat Shurmur, but the owners lost their shit and fired him. Let me put it into perspective for you: there have been seven head coaches since 1999. No team is going to be good with a constant game of musical chairs like that. I'm not saying the team doesn't have other issues, but that is a very, very big problem IMO.
As if I already didn't feel sorry for this guy, they made him move across the street.
Chargers are winning right now in OT. I was surprised the pieces were falling into place for a possible Steelers playoff spot. Let's be honest though, they'd be clobbered during their first game in the playoffs.
WTF happened to the Dolphins? I realize the Incognito/Martin situation was distracting and disruptive, but the bottom just seemed to fall out over the past few games.
