If it's marketed correctly, I think it could work. This seems to be more aimed at the younger crowd who would buy stuff like Vespas.

Oklahoma certainly has the space for turbines, but do they have enough sun for solar panels? I figured they were always getting hit by tornadoes. If you're in a location that gets enough sun, it could work.

My friend and her oldest daughter are from Oklahoma. The friend always says the only reason Texas hasn't fallen into the ocean yet is because her home state sucks so hard.

Response to: TM office cancels Redskins Posted June 18th, 2014 in Politics

From what I've heard, this actually screws over 31 of the other teams. They all have a franchising agreement where if someone buys something, everyone splits the money. The exception to this is the Cowboys, who have their own system. But fuck them. Anyway, if someone were to buy a Vikings jersey, everything would be split between all 31 teams.

But now there's no trademark protection on the Redskins. This means no money for an RGIII jersey.

Trolling the other teams in order to piss off Dan Snyder is...well...kinda awesome. So, obviously, this was meant to force the team's hand.

Maybe we can start a business selling Redskins merchandise to racist? No more trademark protection!

Response to: peaceful world only women Posted June 14th, 2014 in General

No. Women are conniving, arrogant little bitches towards one another. I worked in an almost all-female workplace four years ago. A couple of them decided they hated me and started spreading rumors and shit. The boss, who hated me for absolutely no fucking reason, decided to join in and start finding things to write me up for, like having the top button on my shirt unbuttoned even though all the others were (No, really). Turns out one of them hated me because she was basically throwing her panties at the only male in our department, but he thought I was more fun so he hung out with me more. I wasn't even flirting with him! I had also been dating my now-husband for over a year, so everyone knew I was attached.

Now, had he not been there, would I have experienced the same situation? Likely. They'd have found other things. Like, I often got written up for my tone of voice since I still have my Northwestern Pennsylvania accent to this day and didn't speak with no inflections like the Midwestern phone operators. But yeah, like several others in the thread say, women are awful. It's just that unlike going to the parking lot and punching each other, it's more like death by a thousand cuts. If they decide they don't like you, they'll go behind your back to make your life hell. Now, if guys get pissed at each other, they fight in the parking lot, someone wins, and it's over and done with. But women are like "You pulled my hair when were three years old! DIE!" Towards each other, women basically act like all the Middle Eastern folks who fight with each other over what someone may or may not have done 350 years ago that no one remembers.

Eric Cantor defeated in primary. Posted June 10th, 2014 in Politics

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor was defeated by a tea party candidate.

Hmm, Mr. Moneybags Eric Cantor defeated by a guy with no money (politically speaking)? Interesting. Also, Cantor was widely considered to be the most likely successor to Boehner. Does this mean the tea party (is that capitalized or not) has some clout? Or were people just pissed at Cantor? He is kind of a prick.

My first thought when I saw this headline was "Oh, this is gonna be entertaining." It will be. Especially since Virginia has become a purple state.

The Blue Angels flew over my house three times today. I knew they were doing stunts downtown, but I didn't think I'd be anywhere near them. Guess I live far enough away for them to do formations, then go back.

It was cool to watch, but it's a good thing my work meeting was over. "Um, can I call you back? The Blue Angels are doing flyovers." Yeah, imagine explaining that to the boss.

It also doesn't help that a lot of the protesters were either delusional college kids who are ignorant on how politics works, career protestors who desperately wanted to find something to bitch about, or the uncouth hardcore vegan types who are pretty much no different than welfare abusing trailer trash, just without the neo-con Evangelical manifesto. Let's not start to dig in on the apparent hypocrisy of OWS that festered from the beginning. {i.e. complaining about corporate influence in society, while indulging themselves with said corporate products}

That's the thing. A leaderless movement sounds great on paper, but there needs to be SOMEONE to coordinate everything and keep things on track. The "general assembly" of OWS probably aimed to do that, but the absolute consensus required on doing anything is a major reason why the group is a failure. Unless you had 100% agreement, nothing moved forward. The fact is, someone is always going to be unhappy about any sort of rule or activity. That's just life and differing beliefs/opinions. But if a government or group tries to please everyone, nothing gets done.

Also, no leaders means no direction. Everyone goes off and does their own thing otherwise. For example, take the Republicans during the Bush 43 presidency. They were a well-oiled machine; as they had specific goals and a strategy, as well as someone to get behind. Notably, they also were self-policing and roped in anyone that stepped out of line. With the Democrats, it's like herding cats. To this day, there's no unity. They blew a supermajority during Obama's first term because of all the squabbling over wedge issues and lack of discipline.

The problem with OWS is the folks who associate with it focus on every goddamn issue under the sun. When you add too many issues, you lose people. I think we can all get behind ending corporate welfare and getting money out of politics. But when you add Free Chelsea Manning breadsticks, Take Everyone's Guns Away sauce, and an Amnesty for Illegals 2-liters, suddenly this becomes a pizza people don't want.

Michael Sam had some extremely impressive numbers in college, but college success doesn't always equal NFL success (Tim Tebow, I'm looking at you). I also wonder if maybe he's a little too small to be a defensive end.

Either way, it's going to be interesting to see which way it goes.

Response to: NFL drafts 2307th-ish gay player Posted May 10th, 2014 in General

His NFL combine numbers weren't that great, so I think that's one other reason he was drafted so late. I do remember folks from several teams (including Steelers coach Mike Tomlin) say they would judge a player by his abilities, not his sexuality. I remember watching the sports coverage on TV one time and they were interviewing Ryan Clark around the time Michael Sam came out. Apparently early in the 2013-2014 season, they all got together and discussed what an openly gay player would mean for the team. Nice to see that kind of thinking ahead.

There are some teams where you just know they wouldn't tolerate an openly gay player. I don't get that impression from the Rams. Either way, the Rams need all the help they can get. Here's hoping he can stay with them for awhile.

I think I overdid it a little when I took a book out onto the back deck. I didn't have sunglasses on since there was shade due to the position of the sun, and it would've been too dark for me to read. I had to stop when the wind picked up a bit. Made my eyes hurt. Maybe I can read outside either on a calm day or if I can find a lighter pair.

I took this picture a couple of hours ago. Believe it or not, this is an improvement. The white spots indicate something is breaking down.

I didn't think I'd ever get it either, but then came the problems. I used to be afraid of LASIK, but then having a bunch of obstacles forced me to confront the fears. And honestly, when I first got under that machine, I got pretty damn scared. But I had told myself beforehand it was the best thing for me, and I had already sunk all that money into it, so no point in wasting it.

Major step forward: I was able to open all the blinds in the house today. I can also step outside without sunglasses again as long as there's no direct sunlight. Of course I need to drive with sunglasses on, but it's been that way with contacts.

Redness is beginning to subside, but it'll probably be another week before it resolves. Interestingly enough, it's moving further down the eyes, which indicates the blood may be draining downwards. I probably where the blood will go when it leaves my eyes.
