This picture is a tribute to the first BioShock game, love it. It took about 4 hours to draw, watch the Time Lapse Drawing Video to see it being drawn and to hear me talking about the picture and the subject.

Hope you enjoy :)

I love Shaun of the Dead, it is one of my favorite movies and very influential for me. I've been wanting to work on my more realistic drawings so I decided to tackle this picture with a more realistic approach. It isn't perfect but it's a great leap forward for me as far as drawing goes, you can watch the video (linked above) and I talk about some drawing techniques.

Drawing Time: 3.5 hours.

Out of my sheer admiration for Jay and Silent Bob, I drew up a picture of them and recorded it, you can watch me drawing this here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXShmvPjE 60

Also, on a more random note, does anyone know why none of the art I upload to the Art Portal shows up in the main Art Portal page?

Thanks, and as always, hope you enjoy!

Not bad, not bad. Seeing as how almost all of their are their known poses, I guess you used references? Nothing wrong with that, should probably have adjusted the shading though. The shading is a bit inconsistent through the characters, some having light come from one side, some the other side, some from above, some from below.

References were indeed used although not copied. I tried to change them up and for some of them I only referenced the face and attire, coming up with the pose on my own. I agree with you on the shading, that is something I can work on in the future, so as always, thanks man!

Alright, so here is the next drawing, Dormammu as he appears in Marvel vs Capcom 3, and as always I recorded the drawing and made a time lapse video. You can see the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrU8HYbct eI&feature=feedu

I think it's cool watching people draw pictures in such a short time, you can literally see a blank page turn into something nice in minutes. Hopefully you guys like this one.

Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel and spread the word if you like it. Also, suggestions are still being accepted! I'm getting a new wacom tablet this week, hopefully I will do some drawings with it soon.

Have you thought of scanning your images and then editing them in Photoshop or Gimp? I think by doing this you could make them into crisp cartoon drawings and would suit your style.

I have thought of it and I have done it in the past. However, when I do color my art I tend to color it by hand, that's just the most comfortable situation for me. But I am getting a new drawing tablet soon and I am going to buy some illustrator-based programs, so don't be surprised if in the future I do scan my black and white images and make them full color.

I like this drawing. The only thing i dislike is the month. I just don't think it looks right, I think the teeth might be slightly too much to one side. I agree that this piece is creepy by the way.

The Rebel Campfire Art Thread Posted November 2nd, 2011 in Art

Hey guys, I recently created a thread called "Tariq's Art and Speed Drawings" or something of that nature, but decided to make a new thread for a variety of reasons better not explained on a new grounds forum post....one of the reasons may or may not be alien influence. But whatever the case, this is the new thread for my art work, named after our newly formed production team, Rebel Campfire, for the sake of keeping things universal, also because I learned that what I was doing were time lapse drawings...not speed drawings.

Anyways, to make things current, yesternight I did time lapse drawing of Frankenstein Joe and his debut album, "The Corruption" as mentioned by John "Totalbiscuit" Bain and Jesse Cox in their wonderful Terraria Let's Play series, the specific episode can be seen here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_yJiOD7q J8

Subscribe to them because they are awesome. There was no reference for this drawing, it was just based on their description, so it was pretty fun. Took about an hour. I'm attaching the final picture. You can also see this stuff on our deviantART page: http://rebelcampfire.deviantart.com/ and just subscribe to the youtube page to stay on top of the new videos.

Speaking of which, we should have a new video, an actual video, within a weeks time, I will keep you posted.

I am also down for suggestions, I may not do all of them at once, but I definitely consider them.

Thanks!

I noticed that there is a Halloween Art contest thingy going on round here and I was thinking bout entering it, but I would have to get a picture out by the 31st. If I do it I will probably do a time-lapse video of the drawing as well. Any suggestions?

Just want to clarify one thing. A speed drawing usually takes between 30 minutes to maybe an hour. If it takes longer than that, it's not a speed drawing anymore, and the video's are just time lapses ;P

Oh, okay. So a speed drawing is like trying to complete a drawing in under 30 mins or so, whereas a time lapse can be however long? That clears up some things, I think the terms are used interchangeably a lot, so I was a little confused. But I will change the titles of the vids, thanks man.

So this is a thread that I am starting to collect all of the art I make as well as all of the speed drawings that I record. Feel free to discuss stuff here and let's just have a good time.

I already posted my first two speed drawings (M. Bison and Ezio) but I will add the links again for those who haven't seen them. But, in other news, I just finished my third and it is a speed drawing of one of my favorite villains, The Joker! Except with a slight twist...I always thought it would be cool to see the Joker as a milkman.

Watch and enjoy! Leave suggestions in this thread or as comments on the vids, I will try to get to them in the near future. Subscribe if you want to be notified the minute these videos go up.

Thanks!
