I think it looks fine, but it looks like you're rigging it for tweening. I personally would try to give it more of a non-polished feel for the sketchbook theme. Something you can try if you're rigging it for tweening is going in to each piece and making them 6-8 frames long. Duplicate your line work onto another layer then do a smoothing to the top one with just the line work to give it a "hand drawn" sketchy feel.

I like the art you've done though. Looks awesome.

We'll see what happens when we have the final piece. It's possible we can find a song that fits all of the pieces together well. There are plenty of songs here on NG that have tons of highs and lows. When we get to the music part, I'll see if I can mix a few songs together an have it sound amazing. If not, at least I tried :D

Wasn't last year's song upbeat enough? And I try to find music that would tie the collab together. If you have suggestions for music, I'd like to hear them. :)

Here's an idea, why not use more than 1 song? We could mix them together. So we can bunch up the action parts, dramatic parts, and comedy parts. Then we find ( as a group ) a couple songs that will reflect the genre of the parts.

It's not difficult to mix the songs together, I can help with that stage in the end. That way we can get more audio artists in the mix too. :)

I noticed that too, I just stretched out the BG to make it fix, I'm sure they'll fix it when they put the final piece together.

So let me know what you think :)

I like it! Here are some suggestions to make it have a bit more depth.

I'd recommend having the Tank-Man press a button on a remote or something ( comedic even ) to 'summon' the tank.

When the tank bits are falling into place, I think it would look better if slightly zoomed in, then when they hit the ground. Move everything as if the ground shook a bit.

( Shaking effect )

- Everthing moves up to the right for 2 frames, then ( from the center ) back down to the left. Then back to center.

Also you could zoom everything in a bit more, you have a lot of negative space.

Those would be my recommendations.

Theme Song Request! ( Rock/pop ) Posted March 10th, 2014 in Audio

Hello everybody, I've been working hard on my upcoming series 800 Miles Out. I've been thinking about having an awesome intro like you see in nearly all anime series now days. I'm looking for a talented music producer to create an intro theme song for my series.

What I'm looking for:

A 30 second - 1 minuet song.
upbeat and energetic, punk/pop

funny incoherent singing, "bla bla bla" maybe, (staccato)
preferably female singer ( main character is female )

Ending with the lyrics: (staccato)

"no matter how much you scream and shout,
nobody will hear you 'cause you're 800 miles out"

I'm terrible at lyrics, but the title of the series is "800 Miles Out" if the song ended with that, would be awesome.

About the Show:
Anime, action/comedy. Takes place mainly on a giant space station orbiting a earth-like planet. The space station is inhabited by the poor/underclass citizens of the planet because the rich wanted cleaner air. The show follows Niri, a punky rebel type girl who is obsessed with a lame superhero named "Captain Authority". One day their school is attacked and Niri fights off the robots, Captain Authority then asks her to be one of his sidekicks.

Visuals for intro
I'm really wanting to do the intro as if the viewer was leaving the planet heading towards the orbiting station. With crazy things happening as you leave the planet/break the atmosphere. I'll be introducing the characters as well one by one in the intro much like shows do.

(singing from this, staccato) [I understand it's mostly staccato because of japanese]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F87LlJxgZTk
( only thing with this is the ending, where they say the title of the show as the music ends, it's what I like )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ2lWyTi0oY
( what I mean by incoherent lyrics, not really a language or anything- can fade into awesome lyrics if you're inspired )

( visuals )

added a picture of the main character for.. inspiration?

Live Stream collaboration Posted January 23rd, 2014 in Collaboration

Hello Newgrounds!

I'd like to state first off that this is not a 'typical' collaboration, but it still is a collaborative effort.

I have started doing a live stream via Twitch TV, on Tuesdays and Thursdays ( 10pm GMT ) I work live on my current projects in Flash and Photoshop.

The Idea:

During my Tuesday and Thursday stream I'd like to have a different guest on each day to talk about what they do. I want to hear from everybody, either it be a Voice Actor, Animatior, Music Producer, Writers, and Artist; practically anybody!

Requirements:

A Microphone
Skype

How do you get involved:

Make a post here showing interest, post a few samples of your work, from there we'll talk over skype to work out what day you'll be on as a guest.

What will happen during the show?

We'll simply sit back and have a conversation over skype, I'll probably ask a few questions about what you do, why you started, etc. Each "Interview" will be saved as a 'Highlight Reel" on my page so you can view it afterwards. I'll also try my best to promote your work and Newgrounds Profile.

How many people will be watching?

It's hard to say, usually when I'm working on cartoons I'll have a few regulars chatting with me and that's about it. With you guys doing interesting works each show will be different, some people may be interested in a certain topic and the possibility of having a large amount of viewers isn't far off.

Any questions?

Hey Curtis,

To avoid you from being ripped off by some "foley" artist, most sound effects that you would need can be obtained online for FREE. Do a google search for "FAAction-Pepper" 'sound effects', you should be able to find a zip file which will have about 100 different sounds. Enough to get you started on almost any project, if you feel the need to edit the sounds at all there is a program called Audacity (free) that is easy to use.

Otherwise more sound editors can be found here

Great to see you attempting to do something with a good moral message. Here are some things you should know about newgrounds. There are a lot of new people that have great ideas for collaborations, but do not have the experience to push something like that for completion.

A lot of artist are un-easy about working on something only to see it go to waste because of a failed organization. Your idea is great, but here are some things animators need to get started.

Project Properties:

Screen size: A decent size is 960x540, although 1280×720 can work too.
Background: Flash Default
FPS: 24 (default)

Theme: (You presented it well enough)

I hope that this information will help out a bit. Also remember that the Collaboration Fourm is less active than the General Fourm so response times will vary. I try to schedule Collaborations month(s) in advance.

If you're looking to learn flash I'd recommend starting HERE

Punk Rock Wanted! Posted December 9th, 2013 in Audio

Hey what's up NG musicians! I'm experimenting with a new song, but lets face it. I can't play guitar to save my life. Even If I could, I lack the fundamental knowledge of what it takes to be a Punk guitar legend.

Here is the idea, I want to collaborate with the Punk Gods of Newgrounds to make a theme song for My upcoming series.

What do I need?

--Guitarists! --

Can you shred? Prove it! I need some clean guitar tracks to mix into a smooth old school hip hop beat. ( wait wut? )

BPM- 90
Key- C Major

Punk Bands!

I'd love to have some original music made for the series, anything from kick ass fight scene music. Chases, Space flight, dramatic scenes, you name it. Get in contact with me and I'll get you guys a theme for a song.

--Punk Enthusiasts. --

Newgrounds has a huge Punk community, how about some recommendations for some of the GEMS here in the Audio Portal that I can consider using for my series.

I've been looking around a lot in the Portal, but I want to know what your favorites are, since I'm not too familiar with the genre I want to make sure I'm informed as possible when choosing music. Last thing I'd want is to have a song that everybody hates bring the quality down.

--Punk Haters!--

I want to hear from you too, throw out some suggestions of songs that I should use other than punk.

Tom, I wouldn't let it get you down too much, Pigpen has been making very controversial content for a while now. He is a great animator, but his content seems to be aimed to piss people off.

All I had to know is that the game was by Pigpen. Let him put it on his own site.
