It's not that hard...

Its not a big deal......ever. If you're an anal asshole who has to correct someone just because they spelled it "tellevision" instead of "television," you're a person in dire need of a hobby.

You gotta be a little more specific. If you mean metal in general, then a whole bunch of styles of music fall into that category, like Sum 41 -type punk, which has alot of metal influence, and Linkin Park's style of crap...I mean music. What exactly do you mean?

People usually use the term as when a band signs to a major lable.

I use it differently, I only call a group sell-outs when they (purposefully) make music different from what they had been making purley for the cash.

I don't oppose either.

Yeah, I know, but thats ridiculous. As long as a band doesn't compromise their sound just to get more fans, its never selling out. Signing to a major label is just another step in the career of an artist. Its so fucking sad that Greenday "fans" consist of morons like the topic starter.

They are so underrated. I think they're even better than the frontmans first band, Blur. Rap-rock done in a very different way for all of you who haven't heard them.

Apparently you don't know what an "example" is, but I get the picture. You're right, they do make alot of money in other categories other than album sales; the guys getting pissed are the labels, not really the bands, except for crappy Metallica. But that crap you said about CD's having extra stuff to get you to buy it is almost like whoring yourself out to the public. People should buy an album of the music, not because it brings a limited edition Nine Inch Nails condom.

Sure music is art, but these are people who are not just making music for the fun of it; if so then they should keep their stuff in their houses so they could play them on their headphones in private. Bottom line is is that they are trying to make a living off of it, so money is a factor, and necessary one at that. P2P networks are a great way to reach new artists you don't know about, but it becomes a problem when for example Linkin Park fans, who already have heard most of the songs on the album, decide to donwload the album instead of shelving out the cash, just cuz they're cheap assholes. Like most things, its only okay until it becomes an alternative to actually giving money to support them, just so your selfish ass doesn't have to spend a dime.

When is a felon considered rehabilitated and who can say they won't revert back to their old ways once they're out? I heard it costs up to $70,000 per year to house one inmate in the States. That's more than most middle class families make on two incomes. Something is fucked up somewhere...

Damn, you got a point. It sux that this country spends that much money on inmates, but ya can't just kill everyone, right? I think giving prisoners so many luxuries adds to the problem of money wasting.
