Are you thinking what I think you are thinking?
You mean a tutorial on the interface of Flash?

Uh-oh...I've never heard of Taran actually. Sounds...southern.

Wait, you guys are STILL talking about names? How do you like mine? I used to be Matomic.

Erm...they both actually sound stupid to me. Matomic sounds....I dunno why, but it is unpleasant. TaranVH sounds like the name of a king of some African empire.

RE: Names
Zoy....yeah, that's fun and original name. Makes me smile actually.
Rammer....first thought: Rammstein. But no. Don't know what to think actually.
ShirtTurtle...That picture? Irw...
Paranoia...I don't find that name unoriginal. kinda cool actually.
The Happy Sheep....even thought it sounds silly I don't have anything against it.

Anyway, the smarter ones of you might be able to draw lines between my profile pic and my name.
Re2deemer.
Ctrl+B : Redeemer + 2
Redeemer is the superweapon in the favourite game of mine, UT2004. A miniature nuke that can obilerate every vehicle with a direct hit.
The 2? Simple: there are quite a few users with Redeemer as their name out there. Using Re2deemer has allowed me to use it everywhere on the Internet without problems. only my e-mail is different because i created it before I started using Re2deemer.

Kinda odd to see how all these wierd names have sooo simple and logical story behind them.

Erm... sorry if you already said that, but what does ShirtTurtle still mean or what inspired you to choose this name?

Good idea, Fury. How about a F.A.Q section?

In addition to that, a section on special effects such as fire, water and explosions.

Even though this thread is definetly problematic and I in no way support iamironman's attempt to pull this off, I still find that TC 2007 should have a thread open for suggestion.

With that said, I'm gonna leave the battlefield.

RE: Snow

I fell your pain. It is usually very cold and snowy in my country. But this year is completely black. It snowed once 3 days ago and by now it has all melted. No white X-mas for me.

RE: Game preview

The intro looked fancy, but from there on...
The text was so tiny that I could hardly read it and the genre is quite overused. The enemies vere practically impossible to destroy before they could fire in your direction.

Response to: Question about flash Posted December 22nd, 2006 in Game Development

At 12/22/06 12:53 PM, Norwegianbeast wrote: using photoshop and flash together you can model in 3D.

Really, really not.
You CAN NOT model anything in Flash. You can import swift 3D animations as .fla-s or you can import 3D animations from another program as .avi or another movie format.
BUT YOU CAN'T MODEL ANYTHING IN FLASH. Sure, you can create 3D effect ("Future") and you can acutally create 3D stuff with Actionscript (though it's a pain in the ass and CPU consuming).

Well, I think you should. Why? I don't know anything about Gears Of War, but the current name (Existential Quandry Of Gears) is ridiculusly difficult and long.
Maybe "Gearstorm"? Aww, hell....

The point wiht Flash is that tutorials can only take you to a certain point, from there on you are on your own. It is a program you need to learn on your own. Even if you have many years of experience, you will still learn something new every day.
