Eh, yeah, forgot to mention that my partner went AWOL during the second week.
Anyway, voting.
#1 (3p) - Danopus/Cook's flying city. On a dragon. It has low-res clouds, a plain background and sun. And yet this is the one that catches my attention the most.
#2 - Ashman & monarch. How often do you see those huge behemoths actually doing anything instead of either standing still or going all Hindenburg?
#3 - DooDoo & Nekow - This one is aesthetically the strongest, but it's a bit too surreal to my taste and it just doesn't fit with my idea of being in the air.
See ModDB. Every finished mod has a "Download" tab. Download, follow the instructions. Enjoy
Team Fortress 2
That game would be okay to me if they removed the "Team" part. I know, it's the whole point of game, but that's what bugs me - if we love, *we* lose. I can do all I can, but TF2 is so team-dependent that I ultimately still depend on others too much.
Strangely enough, I quite enjoyed L4D's teamplay....
Pffff, my partner disappeared amnd I'm still planning on finishing it today. Take that, extension boys!

actually no it isnt...Warner claims rights till 2030
....wat? Do elaborate.
I don't have this game but I figure it is pretty much as big as I'd want a game to be.
Art blogs
Half-continuing the theme of tutorials...I stumbled upon this blog yesterday (http://theartcenter.blogspot.com/) and discovered that to my great suprise I am not subscribed to any art blogs (with the exception of one design blog).
So, does anybody have any favourite art blogs to share? I'm most interested in those that offer tips/ideas how to develop your skills.

1. Are you Male or Female?
M
2. What age are you?
17
3. What country do you live in?
Estonia
4. What is your preferred system of gaming for home? (360, PS3, Wii, etc.)
I'm a snobbish PC elitist
5. What is your preferred system of gaming for travel? (Gameboy, PSP, iphone, etc.)
Possess none
6. What is your favorite genre of gaming? (FPS, Fighter, Arcade, etc.)
I'm quite omnivorous in gaming, but my most played are FPS's
7. What is your least favorite genre of gaming?
Like said before, omnivorous. With that said, I don't really enjoy 3D platformers because of the difficulty of hopping in 3D
8. Who is your favorite video game company? (Capcom, Nintendo, Sega, etc.)
Valve is most likely the closest to my fav.
9. Who is your least favorite video game company?
-
10. What is your biggest gripe (Problem) with modern video games?
Little content. I don't mean that games should repeat the same 4-5 types of quests again and again but I do wish that they would create more and diverse gameplay. Right now, most games feel like small snacks between the main dishes.
Also, releasing a game with half-assed SP and tucking a multiplayer component for the heck of it. FFS, choose one thing to focus and get it right.
11. What is your favorite video game of all time, and why?
Pffffffffff, hard to tell. But closes to my all time fav is most likely Unreal Tournament 2004
12. If arcade gaming ever came back, would you frequent an arcade?
Never been a fan of those.
13. Do you see yourself playing video games in twenty years?
Maybe. If I find the time.
14. Who do you think is the most notable figure in gaming today? Why?
Real figure - Err....Gabe?
Video game figure - Although I've never been a fan of the guy, Mario
15. Do you think that the ESRB works? Why or why not?
It doesn't work because it's not really being enforced. Kids don't really care about the +18 tag and parents just don't pay attention.
16. Do you pay attention to indie games? Which ones?
Hmm, I do peek around the indie game pool every once in a while indeed.
17. Do you think that licensed games (Finding Nemo, Total Recall, Aladdin, etc.) as a whole are destined to suck or do you think they all have the potential to be good?
As long as they are rushed out to be released on the same say as the film/whatever and depend on their name only to create sales, they will suck.
18. Do you think that gaming encourages violent behavior? Why or why not?
Ah, the eternal "are videogames evil" question.
19. Do you consider Facebook to be a viable gaming platform, with titles like Farmville available on it? Why or why not?
I am not familiar with Facebook, but from what I've gathered the games are played online, through your browser. Thus they are web games, not some sort of Facebook games. That's like saying that there are Steam games and then Desura games. They are all PC games.
20. Same question as 19, but with the iphone.
*shrug* not enough personal experience but I've seen a decent amount of games on it. Maybe.
21. What do you think about Jack Thompson. Why do you feel this way?
Heh, the old guy that hates video gaming. That's about as much as I care about him
22. Can you honestly see long-running game franchises like Mario or Call of Duty dying in the next few years. If yes, why? If not, how do you think they will continue?
Depens on the persistence of their developers. Mario has it's immense popularity and name value to sell. COD not so much but after a few additional COD games this might be the case.
23. Do you think that Newground's Video Games Board has been successful in it's goals?
I guess.
24. How could this board improve?
Put those flame throwers away. Now.
25. Do you ever eat while playing video games? If yes, what foods? If no, why not?
Sandwiches and related snacks. I know that my keyboard would like me more if I didn't....
26. Same question as 25, but with drinks
Tea <3
27. Do you think that a second video game crash could happen? Why or why not?
The video game industry has grown alarmingly big and is not very mature. So, there's a likelihood
28. Do you have any Shiny Pokémon?
Never played a Pokemon game
29. Do you think that in years to come, gaming will grow as an industry to the point where it will be as commonplace and accepted by all walks of life, as movies are today?
I hope so
30. What's your high score in Donkey Kong?
Don't remember the last time I played it.
Freespace 2 is a very good space flight game, although not very knows. I don't know where one could buy it either.
Trigens, those friggin mutant monkeys from Far Cry
Also, HHHAAAAXXXX
A drawing...for you? Sorry, but we already have a thread for that - Art Request Thread
But if you just want a thread filled with evil critters then you have to start yourself.
Quoted from the Art Forum Rules :
If you are starting a new topic you MUST start with a piece of your own original art.
Narcissa
Ancient Greek legends speak of the god Hephaestus who was rejected from Olympos for being a cripple, but a few rare description mention a twin sister who was also rejected for her looks. Like Hephaestus, she was also accepted begrudgingly amongst the gods after her contribution to the Trojan war under the condition that she wore a helmet at all times.
Disappointed and angry at the world, she became the goddess of misfortune, bringing (mostly fire-related) catastrophy upon all who dared look at her. That includes you.

Big-Jonny - doing the advertising I'm too modest to do. <3
But from that list, I'd say the big fish are definitely GIMP for general drawing and editing purposes, Blender 3D for ...well, 3D and Inkscape for vector-based stuff. Heard lots of good things about MyPaint too (a painting program), but haven't touched it yet.
Haven't seen a good program for 2D animation though.

A castle would be nice. However, the foreground bothers me. You need to add some details to it that would allow us to compare its size to something. Right now I can't really understand whether the foreground is a kilometre wide valley or only a few metres wide.
So, if its the valley, give it trees and outcrops that show how big the foreground terrain is. However, if the latter then add small rocks, grass or small plants.
Well, while I don't exactly spend four days trying to clean up, I constantly have this nagging feeling of "This could be organized better" at the back of my head. My desk has ridiculously little space. I got sketchbooks scattered all over the place. I got watercolour paintings sitting on the shelf while I figure out how to unwrinkle them. I save things on my computer into wrong folders out of lazyness.
Typically, I just let them all slide. But this mess accumulates until it bursts out in an SUPER-ANGRY-CLEANING-RAMPAGE. After that venting all is well for a month or two, then....rinse, repeat.
The quote is a lie. Just...stop

There are no prompts, no hints, just look around the whole damn area dodging bullets and rockets until you find some hidden path to get out.
Let's all go out and get 1 hitted by a fucking gunship. Woohoo!

PS - which one's that again?

One thought crossed my mind while reading this thread - wall of text. When posting your story, I would strongly recommend that you make it instantly clear that you are putting down a story and not a generic reply. All-caps title or a horizontal line..whatever. The shorter ones really look like they're about to drown.
Also, a title/something that says instantly the point of your story would help catch the attention of illustrators a bit better. Remember, you're trying to appeal to the more visual folk, not fellow writers. ;)
On a side note...Hate to be the one to say this, but I wouldn't recommend expecting too much illustrators to jump on the opportunity of creating an illustration for you stories.
I've never understood what the heck and why you guys do at iScribble to get banned. I take it I'm happier not knowing...
