Or you could have a char variable in which its value would be the collective XOR of the string and then use that to xor every letter in the string you're trying to encrypt. XOR'ing is great for creating simple encryptions, The only problem is in the end your going to have to XOR the encrypted string with I believe 0x40 in order for it to be an alphanumeric character. Don't quote me on that though. I'll try to work out some C++ code for that today...

What if I told you that the total sum of all energies is equal to zero?

I have to say I'm liking this theory that this man is saying, and it's not too unfeasible either. I'm not sure why there is a large controversy about it as well. You see the light around you? All of that energy is caused by electrons changing their energy levels, or in other words how close they are to the nucleus. A good example would be those stickers that glow in the dark. When some type of energy, let's say the light rays, comes into contact with the atoms in the glow in the dark sticker, the electrons move to a more excited state, farther away from the nucleus. The atom won't stay in this excited state when the input source is no longer there because it takes a continuous flow of energy to sustain the excited state. This theory works in the same way as this, except instead of an excited state, it is merely an extremely energy deficient state.

There really isn't any hardware acceleration for tasks like that. There are certain SIMD(Single Instruction Multiple Data) commands that will help with a vast amount of calculations. Here is a couple links for them, have fun digging.

SSESSE with MFC , SSE2 In Assembly , Intel Architecture Volume 1 , Intel Architecture Volume 2

Problem with all of these is you have to know the math for quaternions, which I'm sure you can just look up.

I have to ask one question. What is a better form of diplomacy, big stick diplomacy or dollar diplomacy? In my mind it's dollar diplomacy. It provides the least bloodshed, as well as increases the economies of both countries. There is no useless expenditure on bullets, bombs, grenades, and other one-time use objects. Just imagine how great this world would be if the competition between countries were in the minds of the people rather than in the hands of the governments.

As to all of this argument between Liberals, Democrats, Republicans, who gives a shit? Who cares if one party was right at one time or right at another. It does not prove the point. You can't point at the Contra Scandal and say all Republicans are crooks. You also can't look at Bill Clinton's receiving of oral pleasures as all of the Democrats are bunch of horny bastards and solely want abortions because of it.

How do we differ between the Roman Empire and the Cheyenne tribes? Greatest is indeed applicable when describing a country. Yes you can have a biased opinion about who is the best, but in the end you have to have statistics to back up your facts. Who has the lowest unemployment, who has the greatest quality of life, etc etc are all questions that you should ask yourself. Don't simply throw away the question of who is greatest because of the natural obsession of people to become nationalists, for this is what has destroyed the world. Instead, and I'll reiterate myself, use tangible information when doing comparison between countries. There is indeed a greatest country, but the greatest country is only supreme for a brief span of time before somebody else aspires to become the greatest.

Do you have a source or are you just assuming and saying what you have heard from other people? I believe you're assuming. Look this up on google, "illegal immigrants social security." It'll open up your eyes.

Put simply, illegal residents hurt the US in hundreds of ways and don't help one bit. Any of the arguments for them doing jobs others don't want is BS, and if it was actually true, would only make the case stronger against removing them since exploitation of minorities is not something we want to support.

Well I wouldn't say the poor is a minority, but under a capitalistic society it's looked upon to exploit the poor! Blacks, poor. Latinos, poor. Whites, rich. Asians, rich. I know these are just vague generalizations, that is until you look at the median pay of blacks, latinos, and whites. http://www.bls.gov/n..lease/wkyeng.t02.htm

Write pseudo-code. It helps with writing the program because you don't have to worry about all of the intricate details of a program, just the generally gist of what needs to be done. This pseudo-code should include all of the for, while loops and the functions that you're going to need, but it does not have to be exactly what the C++ code is going to look like.

Ok a couple simple questions, but first I'm going to say my assumptions. You probably have Windows 95, possibly Windows 98. These two operating systems used either a FAT16 or a FAT32 partition type, and these OS's didn't come with powerful software to modify the partitions.

One thing that caught my eye while I was searching google was this Ultimate Boot CD. It's a 100 MB ISO image, which means you would have to burn this image to a CD-R. On this disk it contains all of the tools you will ever need to resize and merge your partitions. Here is the link. With this CD, you can either delete the 2 partitions tha has 2 GB of information, or merge all of the partitions together into one large partition. What you do depends on whether the other 2 partitions have data that you need.

So what do you do if you don't have a CD burner or your computer won't boot from a CD? Search on google for a partition manager, merger, resizer, and so on and so forth until you find one that can boot from a floppy.

There is of course going to be a crater on the other side of the levee. It's simple, it's caused my a massive amount of water erosion from the massive amount of water that flowed into New Orleans. It occurred in my backyard when our 32 inch pipe filled with water dumped onto a soft soil surface. There was an approximately 2-3 foot radius crate caused by the force of water flowing onto the piece of land. It would be completely erroneous then to immediately assume that this crate was caused by explosives. It wasn't! These people need to stop using the race card, because once you use it so many times in the wrong way, people will stop believing. Stop crying wolf about New Orleans black people.

Besides all of the bashing of each other's grey matter, the only way that you can host a game is to have them unblock the port. Either that, or you can configure Guild Wars to use another port, but I'm not sure if that's an option in an MMORPG. It seems unfeasible in my eyes that that possibility would be there.

At 9/20/05 11:21 PM, Nomader wrote: Seriously, isn't there some amendment which allows people the right to privacy and such - it states "All rights not specifically stated in this Constitution are granted to the Citizens" or something like that?

I believe you are talking about the 10th Amendment, except the 10th amendment states that all of the rights not specifically stated in the Constitution is granted to the citizens. This was added into the Bill of Rights in order to have large states, like New York , sign the Constitution. You have to remember the turmoil that the nation was in at the time. A large portion of the colonists highly distrusted a strong central government, but yet it was easily apparent that a stronger national government was needed. Commerce between states was cumbersome due to the states coining their own money rather then having a national standard, the northern colonies like Massachusets(Maine didn't exist at this time, which it was created in the 1820's with the Missouri Compromise) were under constant bickering from the British in Canada, and Shay's Rebellion showed the true weakness in the Articles of Confederation; the lack of a strong national government. So there was a conflicting thought going through America, one that was for a stronger national government and one that didn't want a national government because the previous very powerful central government fucked them over with taxes and the Americans lacked true representation.

The decision was made amongsts all of the states to convene in Philadelphia to try and amend the Articles of Confederation to try and alleviate the problems associated with it, Albeit would be to amend the Articles of Confederation due to the fact that all 13 States would have to agree with the new amendment, and many people in the crowd, like James Madison, felt that they should just draft a new Constitution. Which they did, and if you'd like more details, just search "Philadelphia Convention" or "Constitutional Convention" into Google or Wikipedia.

At 9/22/05 04:51 PM, armanddarke wrote: Sigh. Resorting to name-calling and intimidation is so childish. Please, it's obvious you guys don't want to be bothered in doing your own research.

Not reading what you give us. Come on man, I know you didn't read the report about owning the weather in 2025. If you did, then you would see that the technology is not there, it's not feasible.

Another thing, have you read the summary for the Weather Modification Act? It simply talks about cloud seeding, which was created during the 40's. All that cloud seeding is is injecting a cloud with dry ice. Some technology, right?

Controlling the weather is not possible. The energy required in a short amount of time to create a storm, and continuously renew this energy, is almost impossible to achieve. As well as that, transferring this energy into a feasible, predictable way is IMPOSSIBLE. In order to do it in a predictable way, one must know the weather of not only the Earth, but as well as the Sun. Solar flares and solar radiation profoundly effect the weather. This can be seen by the increase of storm systems during the peak solar years.

Overall, Weather Modification is BS unless you're talking about modifying storms that are already there. And even when you are altering the storms that exists, the effect on them is extremely limited! Look at Project Stormfury that the US Government did during the 60's if you really want to.
