I got an idea. I'm already doing it actually.. Lets all use the power of intent and focus our minds on inflicting the worst things imaginable to animal abusers. And if you know someone sick enough to torture an animal, take the responsibility to castrate or spay those motherfuckers.

Communist Fortune Cookie Posted April 5th, 2010 in General

Got this fortune cookie today, does the fortune strike anyone else as slightly communist sounding? "There are many paths to the top, but only one view." Makes me kinda wonder if that one view they mean is communism.

Doesn't it sould familiar from Fallout?

Maybe a subliminal answer, I love that game but haven't played Operation Anchorage add-on. And I actually think it would happen closer than 2077 though like the game.

Response to: Your paranormal experiences. Posted April 5th, 2010 in General

Working at a old folks home I'd often get distress calls on the emergency buzzer from vacant apartments. I'd go check anyways and just find a locked, vacant apartment. Impossible it could have been someone's trickery.

It gets a little stranger, it's happened quite a few times and coincidentally almost always vacant apartments at seemingly random times. A couple times in a occupied room while the occupant was not home. I still say it's some kind of EMI in the lines more likely causing it than a former resident from beyond the grave, but it's the most paranormal thing I've experienced.

Refusing to understand I think is most of it. I've seen some amazingly well versed old people and it's becoming more common. And then there's ones that know the words 'website', 'download', and 'modem' and use those 3 words to describe everything to do with the computer. And some that say things like "There's nothing but liberal propaganda on the internet, don't need it" when meanwhile there's propaganda of all kinds.

Old people and Computers/Interne t Posted April 2nd, 2010 in General

Why does it seem like 90% of old people (I'll leave it pretty open to interpretation) seem like they were in a coma between like 1982-1999?

Every old person I meet seems just has stories of punch-card machines and how alienated they are by modern computers. How the fuck does this happen? I don't think it will happen to us in like 50 years, but it's a scary thought.

Like robots... wouldn't it suck to be as confused with robots in the future when they're common household things as our old people are the computer?

Anyone ever hack a turret that actually couldn't be hacked? I've never had this happen to me before, I grabbed my camera and took a snapshot.

You can see in the bottom right corner of the screen that this one's impossible to hack no matter how you arrange the movable tiles. There's always been some way in all the others I've seen to get it to the other end.

Very biased. I've never heard of this censored version you speak of but I've read it The Catcher in the Rye and it's a favorite of mine. I can imagine that if there was a censored version it would take most of the best things out of this particular read as it's got a lot of mature content.

called basic economics

So in otherwords 'No'. I'm as doubtful in your literacy of economics as I am in your ability to shapeshift. Not just your literacy either but generally everyone's because no one's got it all figured out, if they think they do they're living in a fantasy world. Otherwise we wouldn't be having these conversations still.

I don't think I'm alone in thinking a fundamentally extreme capitalist society would likely lead to a corrupt corporation (or a group of them) in control.

We'd be better off requiring gun safety and operation training, and financial help to each American citizen so they can protect and serve themselves and each other than wasting tax dollars on power tripping losers in blue suits who pretend to protect & serve.

So yeah, capitalism all round, baby.

I thought we learned extremes are bad. Pure Capitalism eventually just shifts all the power to who has the money. There's a whole yin-yang deal to economic policies.

pre-DTV antenna was better (kinda) Posted March 20th, 2010 in General

Anyone else find that with over-the-air DTV, the least amount of disruption in the signal makes the programming unwatchable? Before DTV it seemed like if your signal wasn't perfect it was still watchable with just some snow & extra noise.

Don't get me wrong I love all the DTV stations that work in their HD glory. Everything's great except for NBC which always has just enough interference to make it unwatchable almost 24hrs a day. At least I can get around it by using a computer for TV.
