Sports teams are only racist when.. Posted October 12th, 2014 in Politics

Why do white people with no chips in the game wanna erase only the native american names from sports? Seems racist.

Why don't they ever protest the teams named after white people? At least they'd be protesting something relevant to them.

Especially the Redskins getting heat these days which has more of a wwI honor than anything from what I understand.

If anything, if it's about fairness you'd think these that protest would demand they name more after native people's because they are disproportionately represented compared to all the teams using white inspired or white mascots and logos.

Personally I think it's an honor for any race of people to have something like that named after them, and some people just can't see that or take it the wrong way; they should loosen up & just embrace it for what it is.

##Not racist since named after white inspired or use white mascot?:
#NFL
Oakland Raiders (whiteface logo)
Dallas Cowboys (white mascot, named after the Rangers texas law enforcement mostly white at time)
Minnesota Vikings (white viking mascot, nordic inspired name)
Baltimore Ravens (this one might not count but named after Edgar Allan Poe who was white)
Buffalo Bills (named after Buffalo Bill Cody, white)
New England Patriots (white looking mascot, have used a caucasian mascot in the past but the grey one now still looks white)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Any of the British, French, or Dutch sea adventurers who chiefly haunted the Caribbean and the Pacific seaboard of South America during the latter part of the 17th century)

#MLB
Cincinnati Reds (renamed in the 50’s because of the red scare renamed to the “Redlegs” came from, this was once a derogatory term used to refer to a specific group of poor white people living on various islands in the Caribbean (generally originally from Ireland and Scotland). They were also commonly known as “white slaves”.)
San Diego Padres (white priest as mascot, named after Fathers/Priest)
Texas Rangers (named after texas law enforcement)

#NBA
Boston Celtics (stereotypical white Irish leprechaun mascot/logo)
NY Knicks (Knickerbacker, is a surname that dates back to the early settlers of New Netherland
Philadelphia 76ers (named after our founding fathers of the revolution who were white)
Dallas Mavericks (Named after TV western show Maverick main characters, white)

#NHL
Anaheim Ducks (named after Mighty Ducks movie who’s cast and members were mostly white)
Ottawa Senators (white person face logo
Vancouver Canucks (a sometimes derogatory name for Canadiens used in the USA)
New York Rangers (after the Texas Rangers, law enforcement predominantly white at the time)

##Racist because not named after white people and named after Natives instead?:
#NFL
Kansas City Chiefs
Washington Redskins

#MLB
Cleveland Indians
Atlanta Braves

#NBA
Goldenstate Warriors

#NHL
Chicago Blackhawks

Thank you!

Unless you can order parts and assemble your own; Highly recommend ASUS, or a Dell.

BTW, the 750 is a weak graphics card. Allow me to explain that the first number '7' is like a series number. The last 2 numbers actually exemplify where it is performance wise (i'm simplifying but basically).

A GTX780 is a real graphics card. the 750 is like for a businessman computer. If the 700 series too much $$$ settle for a 680 or 690 if you can afford it. I'd not recommend the 750 or anything nvidia currently with a '50' after it you will end up with something for spreadsheets basically It's the mid-level at best. Even the 580 or 590 still kick ass in my opinion and even going back that far they support DX11 but I recommend at least starting something in the 600 series if going Nvidia.

Sorry for so many edits. Graphics card shopping is so fun.

Also if using Linux go NVIDIA. If Windows idk, doesn't really matter as far as I know.

I get the sense you don't assemble computers, so you probably are best buying a Dell and adding some badass graphics card like a GTX680 or GTX690/whatever you can budget to it if you don't assemble computers yourself. That will get you good dell warranty for the machine and separate warranty from graphics card manufacturer.

Best of luck

I wonder if this guy could sue the reporter for defamation? I mean, the guy is being treated for ebola, so its probably not the first thing on this mind...but still.

Well he's sort of dead now

But maybe the family can do that on his behalf? I think not likely since he was just talking with my local Arizona news channel. He probably won't do it again.

Not real real experienced in digital animation but I recently ran accross Tupi, it's free and opensource. Can export to tons of video and image formats including swf, or image arrays to make sprites. And it's free. Runs on Linux Mac and windoze.

Been experimenting some and really like it so far.

windows has an alternating pattern first the make one thats good than they make one thats bad they skipped 9 because they wanted to make one that sucked two times in a row

I wouldn't know if they ever made a good Windows, I've been on Linux as long as can remember using computers.

Actually now I hear they're skipping 9 and straight to 10 because some outdated code embedded in Windows they can't get rid of still looks for Windows 9 by like

if(version.StartsWith("Windows 9")) { /* 95 and 98 */ } else {

So They are skipping instead of removing the outdated code. So Microsoft of them lol. Also maybe so they can call it OS X and confuse mac users.

Well, good luck man...

This place brought life changes because I basically tripled my income in only a year after my job previous to this one. So much was different, I paid back my Mom everything I ever owed. I had no other debts or anything so I got a mortgage and moved and just been living simple just paying my mortgage and saving money since.

I'd take a $9/hour job somewhere just to be employed right now and pay things, but hopefully I can find something like I had.

I did the math and I could pay things if I starve myself and eat campbells soup or something.

Because, in a scummy-genius way he wanted to get fired so he could atleast collect unemployment until he gets a new job.

That's easy, I never wanted to in the first place. I'd ask yourself or anyone else almost the same question:
Why don't you just quit your job if there's something you don't like about it?

I think we'd have basically the same reasons to that question.

More layed off actually, they just put that in the paperwork just to be dicks about it. They discriminated against me simply because the company is changing to get me out. Same with another guy today that was let go, also happy to be gone. I actually wish it could have been done sooner, the place was only holding me back I feel.

It was basically today a day to dump a couple spots on the roster for more salary room to hire others. Companies can conveniently say whatever they want just so they don't have to say you were layed off.
