Yep, heard that one before. It's a hack. Enter a game that's protected by that Valve-anti-hack-thingy and see if there's any difference.

Also, check your connection, or are you sure it's not caused by that?

VOICE ACTOR WANTED

Hello, I am looking for 2 voice actors for my upcoming flash animation.
I have 2 big roles and some smaller ones, but I think 2 will be enough.

ROLES

Patrick

Main character. Patrick is a grumpy panda bear, with a purple and white colored pelt. Patrick has a low boiling point, swears a lot and attempts to be very noisy when he gets mad.

What I need is a low, grumpy voice (at least something that fits a bear). If Patrick had a human age, it would be around 30. And like I mentioned in his 'bio', he swears and yells a lot.

Martijn

That is me. Because English isn't my native language and I haven't got the proper hardware, I will need a voice actor to do it for me. I just need someone (Martijn is a male name, if you wondered) who can speak clear English (or American ofc) and is (or can do the voice of someone) around 20 years old. Yes, I know it's a bit odd to put yourself into an animation, but fits the storyline.

P-bot

We all know P-bot, right? It's Newgrounds' own guardian of the Flash Portal.
P-bot is a robot, so I will edit his voice clips with audio software. I thought would be a good idea to give this role to the same VA that does Martijn's voice.

Badly Drawn Guy

Although this character only appears in one scene and has only one or two lines, I need a squeeky voice for this one. Nice and simple. The VA that does Martijn's and P-bot's voice will also do this small role.

That's all. So basicly I need 1 VA for Patrick and another for the rest.

AUDITION LINES

I copied these lines from the script (they're randomly picked, they don't fit together).

Patrick: "I'm not purple, you peanut brain! I'M VIOLET!!"

Martijn: "Just quit the whining and get in the damn car!"

Badly Drawn Guy: "Well, I guess it's my turn now..."

If you want to send me your recorded audition line, give me a PM and I will give you my e-mail.

THE DEADLINE FOR THE AUDITION IS...ehm...AUGUST 16TH!

This is the first time I'm using professional voice acting in my animation (actually this is the first time I'm making a serous animation anyway), so I don't know how exactly things go. So if I forgot to mention anything or if you have a question, feel free to PM me.

Wow, such a coincidence! I just found that out too! Well kinda, I'm not really into the audio editting talk like you guys... I've added a reverb effect with the mixer panel in FL, this works wonderfull! But that 'wet' and 'dry' layers, that I am going to try next.

Thanks Rig!

Ik know my reply is a bit late, I haven't been able to reply earlier.
Anyway, thanks for the advice, I almost got it! It was indeed putting the sample in reverse, adding a echo (but with a very short delay and high feedback) and turn it back again. Thanks for the link Pr0de, that was exactly what I was talking about!

Oh, by the way, the Red Hot Chili Peppers used the reverse echo effect too, in their song called 'Strip My Mind'

Forum: Audio

Explaining this will be hard. Especially when your English is pretty...ehm...crap...

I've been looking for it everywhere, but I can't find it! How the hell do they make that spooky invert-echo-like sound effect? It's mostly used on with voice-acting...

You have no idea what I'm talking about, do you? Fortunately, I can give an example: In 'Charlie the Unicorn 2', when those 2 other unicorns are in the 'vortex' on Charlie's back, you can hear the effect when they speak. Another example: In the song 'Trust' on the Limp Bizkit album called 'Significant Other', while the song goes 'I got a little bitty question...'.

I tried reversing a sample, then adding an echo and reversing it again, but it didn't work.
Can anyone please tell me how to get this effect?

I'm off to bed now (it's called sleep, it's better than coffee) so I'll reply tomorrow.

Thanks in advance (or whatever you english-speaking people call it)

There are prolly a few hundred bugs we haven't discovered or studies yet...
And there could be a few fish species we haven't seen yet, since we're not able to reach certain sea bottoms.
There are prolly a few prehistorical animals that haven't shown their faces yet.

But real monsters and mythical creatures? Keep on dreaming...

Topic: Time Travel.

Posted: 05/19/08 06:24 PM

Forum: General

If time traveling really is possible, and if there was/ will be somebody to invent it, it would probably also mean it won't ever be invented. Get it? I mean, time traveling is just too powerfull to exist, so the creator would probably never be able to build it, because someone else (or maybe himself) would make it impossible for him.

But in my opinion, it's impossible. there are just too many thing that would make it impossible. I mean, where would your body go while traveling? Where would you land? What if the place where you land is inside a solid object? Would you age while traveling? Would you even be able to breathe while traveling?

Well hello Sawke, long time no...seen... (w/e, you know what I mean...)

Hmm, isn't it a bit risky at your age? I mean, you're probably still growing.
My ex-girlfriend got breast implants last year. According to her, the pain wasn't that bad. It took about 1 month to heal. (I don't like implants, they feel really unnatural. It's like, I dunno, squeezing a rubber ball or something)

As for my opinion...
I still think you are a bit young. But if it really hurts and it makes things hard, then yes, you should.

I have some bad news. I can't host this collab anymore. I have some serious problems at college and I am working my ass off to fix it.

For the few of you who were still going to participate, I am truly sorry. One of you can finish the collab and take my place as the collab leader if you want, but I can't do it.

If anyone isn't interested then I guess this collab is closed.
