Loving the tree sculpture! I like the way it's extending out from the base platform, very cool & inspiring work in this thread!
Probably not good practice but have you tried?
MovieClip(root).variablename
These are truly awesome lol.
It's great to see your progress throughout this thread and your enthusiasm is inspiring...

TIP:Leave it in Cell or Line mode and use the ALT key to slide notes/clips freely whenever you want to add a little offset or tweak something to perfection etc.
Great site with loads of useful tutorials!!
Some great sketches, ideas and styles in this thread, keep it up!!
It's a great start, keep going and you will learn a lot along the way. Good luck and never give up!
Prefer the right one, shading has definitely improved but not so keen on the background. Kind of clashes.

Sometimes I wish I wasn't using AS2 so I could just dynamically adjust frame-rate.
I felt the text that shows when you bash/guard/parry was displayed too quickly, I know the battle needs to be kinda speedy but maybe just leave it on-screen a fraction longer so I can read it ;-)
Keep up the good work!
Yeah, there are some advantages to using AS3 ;-)
I do like the pace, just needs to pause just a little longer on your own attack description! Anyway, all the best and I hope the game does really well!

I use MovieClip(root). to get access to variables declared on the main timeline e.g.
MovieClip(root).score ++;
MovieClip(root).highscore = MovieClip(root).score;
This is apparently very bad practice and a little long-winded but I have made several games now and used this throughout without problems, Although I'm using AS3 I still like to do some things AS2 style ;-)
Some really cool images in this thread, love your spraycan stuff, the spacescapes are awesome!!
Some great work here, lots of styles and you're very enthustiastic, Keep it up!
Stir fry looks good!!
Maybe keep them as a silhouette mostly?? and only show details (highlights here and there) when close up or when lightning strikes, guns shoot etc...
Look pretty good, lines are a bit scratchy but that may be your style ;-) Keep it up!!
No idea, just had the same problem myself and that tip helped immensely, Many Thanks!!
its supposed to be out early next year (Feb?) on PC I think..
its pretty cool, but that spoiler in the first post really spoiled it for me...just kidding the game rocks and the graphics/animation are stunning!! ;)
^Agreed, drinking more booze really helps but is not advised unless you're a proffesional!!
I usually drink a load of water/coffee and eat toast/fry-up and go for a bike ride, nothing gets rid of my hangover quicker than riding up bloody hills then blasting down em ;)
Some very interesting characters you got there and like the others have mentioned an interesting style, great for cartoon/games, also the animated wobbly dude is cool ;)
