Topic: Good Audio Music Programs?

Posted: 05/13/07 06:44 PM

Forum: Audio

If you have a macintosh (macbook or Mac Book Pro) get Logic. It basically cobines reason and pro tools to give you a great selection of options. It will run you about a grand, but for me it is worth it. You can record any live instrument (with an interface of course) and MIDI with a huge selection of effects and sounds. It is a very complex program, but once you get used to it and do your reading it's really easy. If you don't have a good mac, then reason, pro tools even Fruity loops are ok, but Logic is the top self program.

my music, several styles including classical, funk, dance and industrial.
Please give honest mature reviews and if you do decide to give me a low vote please tell me why so I can consider the feedback since most songs are not finished yet. If you review my work I will review yours in return.
Thanks

Well then they can delete this thread, no skin off my nose, I will go elsewhere for input. I guess I insulted people with my self promoting ways, I'm just an evil noob.

yeah well they can delete this if they must, worth a shot. Just want a little input, besides advertisement brings you money, I expect none of that so I don't know why it's a problem.

Hello!
I am a composer looking for some good reviews on my music.
I you do not appreciate classical music then you need not to review. I am looking for good reviews on some rough draft compositions of mine, many are not done yet, I would like input before I finish them. Not all of my compositions are classical however, some dance and one industrial song are on my page. Please take the time to review some, and please no immature remarks since I am all grown up now and music is purely a hobby for me.

I would appreciate any feedback from anyone that isn't immature and expects crappy techno music from every submission. I have very few reviews from people at this point, and have received a few "0 bombs" in the process. If you do decide to 0 bomb me, then please give me a reason why. Since this site does not pay me I really don't care what you vote, but a mature explanation would be appreciated. Thanks people!

Topic: Band recording help?

Pitch in for a sound card interface, I have a presonus. It hooks up via firewire to any compatible computer. They are the cheaper kind, around $500, but it gets the job done. You can hook up line level signals (keyboards), guitars and microphones. And it's a huge space saver, it's pretty small. No problems with mine yet, although there are a lot of different varities out there, some get pretty expensive but you get more for the money (like 8 instrument inputs instead of 2). Check out the Presonus Firebox online, see if it's what you need. Other than that you can just go pick out a bunch of crappy gear like the guy above says. Have fun with your band!

I don't know, I have a very fast Industrial song on my page. It's not a club beat if that's what you're looking for. It's very dark and heavy. It's called Fight (Preview), not done yet but what I have is a little over 45 seconds. I guess you can see if it's right, but most likely not.

Topic: I Need Help Changing Midi To Mp3!!

Posted: 04/30/07 01:06 AM

Forum: Audio

You need to bounce the song as a mp3 file, at least on Logic Pro that's what you do. On your program is there a bounce function? If so it's what combines all of your tracks into 2 (left and right). That way it's all on one stereo track.

Topic: Lowering sound frequescies...

Posted: 04/30/07 01:01 AM

Forum: Audio

you need to lower it via eq. Are you talking about the entire song? If so you need to cut all frequencies besides 100-80 Hz on the master bus. Don't listen to that other reviewer, frequencies have nothing to do with pitch. It will sound pretty muddy though. If it's just one sound you should use an EQ plug-in and cut all frequecies besides 100-80 Hz. It all depends on the software you use though. I would recomend averaging your frequencies around 60 Hz, this allows the boosting of the bass end without drowning other sounds.
