I don't know you Wade but PAY ATTENTION:

I have two rats (both females) currently and yes I do have some info to share with you. Info that I wish I had before I got them.

Because you have more than one they will possibly live longer than 2 years, because their stress levels don't become fatal as fast due to constant company. Rats are independent, but they will be entertained with other rats.

In about 1.5 years it is actually common for your rats to develop tumors. This is in their genetics, it can't be stopped. You may get them removed (can cost up to 200$/ea.) but they will only grow more. This process can be slowed down by proper dieting. If you want to spoil them give them cut up apples or other fruit. You can give them junk food like chips and what not but it is indeed terrible for them.

Put them in a semi lit area (Just don't put them in complete darkness. I did this and the results were horrid). Domestic rats are different from that generic sewer rat in cartoons. You need to make sure they get a healthy amount of sunlight (at least a little bit each week if you don't have the time each day.) If you don't there is a possibility they will begin to lose hair due to lack of vitamins that come from the sun.

Cage Details:
-DON'T USE SAWDUST AS BEDDING! It shortens the life span. If you want your rats to live longer, use shreds of newspaper instead.
-By a big rat wheel (or two), they will use it trust me.
-You can get those unnecessary toys but half the time they won't play with them.

Since you have 3 of them I suggest you clean their cage 2 times a week.

Sorry man I had to bust that joke but if I could give some sort of friendly advice, your ideas will always sound more developed in your mind then it really is. I would suggest drawing the basic idea yourself (even if its not amazing ) and posting it so the artist has a better idea of what he/her is up against.

I have been working on the Map Tileset for a long time now and I decided to add a castle in the "Pixelnauts!" game. Soo thats what this is supposed to be. Though I might add some more stuff to it (like trees, detailed grass, and banners because it looks naked and throw it in the art portal.)
