toomuch? I think its too stupid for Christianity, the guy has no legal historical evidence to back up his claims, by stating that Christianity is false without reasonable reason is pathetic. The guy is obviously throwing his opinions everywhere, and to be honest, it's not worth my time reading.

As a mate of mine said, opinions are like armpitts, everyone has them and they stink.

You show these people and you really think they are examples of ALL the factions and represent ALL Christians around the world? There are 2,106,962,000 Christians around the world and you think that those few pictures exemplify all Christianity all around the world? How about I make a broad sweeping generalization about Asians and violent, unethical Communism?

The concept of representations is irrelivent, it would be best rather to look at the founder of Christianity (Jesus) and interpret it your own way. Doesn't that make life simple for everyone? :) Not to quote you are incorrect, you are still quite right Graceful Lady.

It doesn't say anything against being gay, just gay sex.

What does being gay lead to? Sodomy is a sin, and being gay encourages it. What do you hope to achieve out of being gay anyway? It's like saying 2+5 = 7, but its ok to be 8

If you lean more to the "just because we were born that way", doesn't mean that it is the designed function. the desire for homosexuality is completely a free will choice... there usually is an abuse somewhere to contribute along the lines, whether physically or emotionally.. but yes it is sinful.

Topic: Religous-atheist Population Of Ng

At 3/31/06 09:06 AM, ornery_scotsman wrote: I have always wondered "is NG mostly atheist, or religous?"

Ive searched through other similar threads, but they were to vague and werent of much help ("im christian, but I dont beilive in god but i still go to church, ect.")

So really, all I want is very simple.

INSTRUCTIONS

Just post whether you
A. Beilive in god/gods/goddesses whatever. some higher being. I dont care what religion you are exactly, just say if you beilive in a god. Try to be serious. (religious)
B. You dont belive in any god whatsoever (atheist)
C. You arent sure if you do or dont, and dont care anyway (agnostic)

I believe in the God of Abraham. and Jesus! Go Jesus!

I don't believe however that by simply believing in God automatically makes me religious... how so? It's like saying, someone that believes in a car, makes them a motor engine. More to the point, is the God I serve religious? Religion itself is a system of worship to a deity. That may explain the definition of a Christian Church, however its irrelevant as to where God stands. Because God doesn't look for a specific group of people worshipping him in a building... He's looking for relationship. How have I concluded all of this? Bible tells me so. He is my Friend. "Luke 12:4"

At 11/26/05 08:57 PM, PsychoPilot wrote: how come alot of people mostly hate christianity out of all the other religions.

Good question, I believe it's because Jesus is the only person EVER to claim that he is God. (ok so there were other people like David Coresh who also claimed to be God) However, by the result of their own doctrines... they have not come anywhere near to raising even a nation. (bad seeds = bad fruit = detested tree)

Now thats.. quite a big claim. In stating that Jesus IS God... he IS Truth/Existance. I'm pretty sure a lot of people would get upset about that, especially if they have already planted themselves in a non-Christian environment, ie; atheists/agnostics/buddhists etc... These people would detest to discover that there own ways of living are false.

The thing is.... people seem angry about the fact that some guy died 2000 years ago, yet people still talk about it today. It would seem like blindness to the core, that Christians would follow an old teaching, but it's more than that... much more.

We all know that Christianity is the only thing that tells us about Love. Find me any religion/cult/sect and they wouldn't even know the meaning of the word. That's what makes people mad, is that we make such High claims and also, yes.. I'll admit it, we hold the Truth. Religion is irrelivant, it's what you gain from your ways of living.

Patrick

Come on! where are all the Christians? :(

Without God, good and evil do not exist.
Without God, morality is an opinion. the concept of human rights is irrelevant.

think of evil as a void. A void (or a hole) can only exist inside of something (like clothes for example)

So let's go about it like this:

clothes = good
hole in clothes = evil
no clothes = no evil
no clothes = naked

the other big one is "if God were all Good/all powerful/all loving he would destroy evil....
evil exists. Therefore, God isn't all Powerful. Not the way you'd expect Him to be anyway.

Evil is the absence of GOOD, which only comes from God. the state of "Evil" is a rejection of Good, which is evil in itself. The false assumption is that God would DEFEAT evil or OVERCOME.

God in his all Goodness allows existence for everyone to continue, as existence is Good. God stated that his name is "I AM" which means EXIST, so all existence is a product of God, outside of God there is nothing.

The state of existence varies, heaven / hell, but the existence is still Good. So evil can only be Good in one way... that the POSSIBILITY to choose evil exists, the choice of evil is evil. but the possibility to choose is not evil.

Patrick :)

question here.

I've done a tiny bit of studying about Buddhism, and like Christianity, it too has it's own denominations, ie; theravada, Mahayana etc. I had a conversation with someone who claimed to be Buddhist, problem was... she was just simply buddhist... I didn't really understand, because she would obviously have to either acknowledge Buddha as God or a teacher. Who do you say Buddha is? And what backs up for your claim in him.

Patrick.
