That's what I figured, thank you for the reply :)

As others have suggested, starting with flash action script is a nice way to get your foot in the door and start to undersatnd programming concepts. I would recommend getting GameMaker: Studio as the libraries included in that development software really help to speed things a long for actual development. Game Maker uses many of the same concepts such as if then statements, for loops, and supports scripts so you can easily call your programming to the different objects in a much cleaner way, which is an upside if you start working with other programmers.
There are vast quantities of tutorials for Game maker as well. I would advise though, not to use the drag and drop tools they include, as that will not help you learn how to code. The tutorials will shed a light on what I am talking about. If you get in to it and need some help, feel free to PM me.
Any other programmers here working in Game maker Studio? I see that we can upload HTML based files, but what about if we are writing for windows desktop? Do I have to go through and recode/reformat to HTML to be able to upload or is there a work around for basic windows executables?
Any information is greatly appreciated. Would like to be able to share the basic ideas and mechanics of this game with the artists that are interested.

Hey Life stream I really like your style. The only thing I would critique about this manitcore type thing is the rib cage bones. Wild cats like that have very thick shoulder muscles. The rib bone(or indication of them) lines would be visible on the bottom of the beast but be covered up more so by muscle tissue and fats as it curved up towards his back/shoulder/wing.
Do you ever draw small scale stuff? Your style is really good and I am in need of an artist/animator for a game. Keep posting, the anime characters you have up here are absolutely wonderful. Hell I mean all of the art you have up here is really good.
Hello one and all,
I have begun the stages of coding a new game. It is a blend of different ideas and genres. A cool mix of Turn Based Strategy, Side Scroller. and Brawler. I can tell you all about the game mechanic ideas and development if you are interested. What I need is a partner or two that can help with art work. I can draw just ok, and only on paper with a pencil. I am horrible at making good art work and animations.
Essentially what we would be working with are 128x128 sprites with animations for movements, actions, and reactions. 128x128 is the standard size for player units in this game. Further down the development line we will need larger sprites for certain enemies and skills. Aside from sprite animation, we would need graphics designed for the GUI and the different character windows we need(IE stat sheet, inventory, skill sheet etc..)
The preferred angle for perspective would be around the 45 degree mark, with the players front facing right and towards the screen. (The angle used in most side scrolling/brawler games )
Thanks for taking time to look at this. I look forward to hearing from some of you :).
