Human Nature.
Human nature is the cause of evil. In a sence, evil is a human concept, we created it, for it would not exist otherwise.
That is quite true.
We as humans are naturally greedly. We always want the last piece of pie or the closest parking space. At the end of the day it is always about us, or more specificly, me.
Crab mentality? That'll never be cured because we only care for ourselves. Even if we do things for others, we'll ask for rewards. Which is greed.
But sometimes we feel bad about these things. We get a guilt trip, and feel really bad about it. So we do something to make up for it. For example, if you broke your girlfriend's vase you buy her a new one. You want your conscience to be free of worry. However, most of the time it is not the recieveing end that is happy, it is youself that is happy.
People confuse Quantity and Quality. A friend lost can't just be replaced with Friend #4459..
Which leads us to the various jobs that "help other people". These people aren't doing their job to help, rather they are doing it to feel better. it's the guilt trip.
Guilt..we get guilty for being selfish, then repay it by showing to other people that you're selfless. As I said, Quantity is not equal to Quality.
In the end, it is and always will be about us. We never do good things, rather it is the absence of evil.
Which reminds me of Christianity in the 1600s..praying a prayer for a specific number of times to have sins forgiven, etc.
You had a good point.
