I'd try to give the back a soft "s" curve, since the spine isn't straight. You probably knew that already though, since the other poses had curves. How long did you spend on each of these warm ups anyway?
I know he's banned, but I just wanted to inform everyone that this guy has a truckload of accounts:
http://friscky.newgrounds.com/
http://hilone.newgrounds.com/
http://lordtourettes.newgrounds.com/
http://frennzy.newgrounds.com/
http://graybot.newgrounds.com/
He seems to favourite and comment on his own work (that he saves and claims as his own) with them.
I don't know if the rules state that creating more than one account is not allowed, but I just wanted to let everyone know.

Half asleep fail. Anyway, nice work. Are you planning to color the piece or are those sketch practices?

Although after Jonny's little tid bit earlier, this seems awfully similar to the Demos on the madness wiki.
So rather than do an overlay, I'll ask point blank; Did you trace it?
No need to ask. The image is mirrored from the original so he obviously did. :I

Goddamnit, still getting used to this whole forum thing...
Anyway here's a really fast concept I did for my programming class. It was supposed to be a knight that slayed breakfast cereals and we were supposed to script it ourselves (called "Cereal Killer" real original, I know). I then scrapped the idea and used the shape tool to make a ball that moved around.

:DRAW SLOWER. Just by simply moving your hand slower (or however you draw) will drastically increase your accuracy and linework. But this applies mostly to traditional XD. Anyway by drawing slower you increase your patience, you ability to handle the pen/pencil and your ability to draw smoothe accurate lines so you dont continually redraw over things.
Yeah that's true. When I rush they end up looking like a clusterfuck of lines. I will try to be more patient when I draw. Thanks for the suggestion!

I agree, the background is very important as it is still part of the composition.
When I first got my bamboo, I did not like to use it at all. I kept using the mouse and I just didn't feel comfortable with the tablet. However, over time I just used the tablet exclusively, and it has been a year since I got my bamboo. Now I don't know how to use my mouse to draw anymore. It sort of human nature to not deviate from the old ways of doing things, but if you really wanted to make the best out of your tablet, I would just use it over and over again until you get used to it. Now i'm not even close to being a great artist, but I would recommend you to continue using your tablet, as they are worth it (in my opinion). You will get comfortable after a while, and with your abilities, i'm sure you won't need $1000 pro tablet to make the most out of your yourself.
I'll also put a little comparison here:
As you can see, the one drawn by the mouse looks like a complete mess... this shows my inability to use a mouse.

Oh... alright, I will try. I thought some of the works were pretty good though.
Thanks for the suggestion Pat, I will keep that in mind!

That's true, but I really don't think i'm good enough to be scouted or worthy to use the elusive art portal...
Hi everyone, my name is Oo-Lan and I am an aspiring artist. I'm new to this website, as I was introduced by a friend to it a few days ago. It wasn't too long until I saw the BBS and Art Forum. I knew I had to make an account and create an art thread of some sort. I would put it in the Art Portal, but I dont think i'm good enough for it.
So here's my art thread, I will try to update it as much as possible.
Every critique, suggestion or comment would be very helpful!
So for my first entry, here's a little doodle I made in paint because photoshop took a very long time to open :(
I agree with M-Maher, what exactly do we get out of doing this? Just remember that we are giving you time and effort, so what you're giving should be equal to the amount of labor we put into it.
