Hello and Welcome to the NGVAC if you are not already familiar with this place.

The following is important for all newcomers of the VAC who wish to join:

NGVAC ROSTER!!11!!!1!!1

All Who Wish To Join The VAC: Visit the Want to Join? section of the roster.
When joining, remember: NEVER post your profile when joining UNLESS you have a demo of your voice ready and you've uploaded it on a website for easy access! Yes! THAT MEANS YOU! Ignore this requirement when joining and you will be beaten severely with a banana. And it will hurt. A lot.

If you need any additional help, contact Elliair via AIM or E-mail (her contact information is in her profile on the roster) or contact Frogs (ditto). Once again, welcome to the NGVAC (to all who are new here) and enjoy your stay! <3

To the Talented Flash Animators & Producers: Thank you for choosing the NG VAC for your voice actor/actress source! We all hope that you are able to find voice actors and actresses suitable for any roles that you may have available.

And now for the profile reviews.

Yes. Profile reviews.

Profile. Reviews.

*twitch*

While I'm..... HAPPY.... that there's been a resurgence of people who want to join the roster after a long period of inactivity, I must INSIST that people people post according to the rules. Please, fortheloveofgodandallthatisholy, TRY to post a profile even. It might be pedantic of me to enforce that but it saves a lot of time on everybody's part if we could just follow a certain format and stick to it. If you want to join the club, check out the Want to Join? section of the Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club Roster. It will provide the details for how to join, as well as help on how to fill the requirements. PLEASE DO NOT POST A PROFILE WITHOUT A SAMPLER UPLOADED SOMEWHERE FOR DOWNLOAD. DO NOT SAY "I'LL MAKE ONE LATER" OR "I'll GET A MICROPHONE IN THREE MONTHS" OR "EMAIL ME FOR SAMPLES PLZ, K?". GET A SAMPLER, HAVE IT UPLOADED AND LINK IT BEFORE POSTING YOUR PROFILE. THIS IS NOT A NEGOTIABLE POINT. THIS MESSAGE IS IN ALL-CAPS AND BOLDED FOR A REASON. SORRY IF IT SEEMS REPETITIVE, I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THIS POINT WAS CONVEYED PROPERLY. Finally, this is a VOICE ACTING club. It is not a I CAN DO ALL THESE VOICES THAT I DON'T HAVE TO PROVE I CAN DO BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A MIC club. Don't try and join if you don't have a working microphone. That's just plain stupid.

*breathe in.... breathe out.... find your happy place....* And we're done.

That said, the following people have somehow managed to get it right in the midst of this splendiferous outpouring of non-sampleage.

Plaid_Mime (197)
PROS: You actually have an example. You have mastered the first step.
CONS: You have your example in .wav format. You have stumbled and broken both your knees on the second step. Like, ow.
VERDICT: Get an mp3 encoder. Make sure you're recording in 44-KHz, 16-bit mono quality at LEAST. Check yourself in for some tender Audacity love and care.

Chocci (198)
PROS: You have a sample in mp3.
CONS: Bad recording quality, lack of noise reduction, and while it's funny to hear you go through your voices one at a time like that, you'd probably be better off going with Frogs and record each of your voices seperately, with prepared lines, and then cut and paste all the lines together into one single file. Possibly with music in the background.
VERDICT: With your current sample, you've earned yourself a place in Temp Roster! However, I think with a little tender Audacity love and care, both to clean up your samples and to do some sound editing, you'd fit quite nicely in the Mainstay Roster.

I'm not sure I even want to bother emailing the other people who tried to join. That's a bit more legwork and source of unnecessary stress than I'm willing to handle right now. Why? Why do you ask?

BECAUSE MY ISP ISN'T GIVING ME ACCESS TO MY WEBSERVER!

Okay, that's a pretty stupid thing to stress about, but considering the fact that I haven't updated the NGVAC roster in SUCH a long time and when I finally get around to it the DAMN SERVER DOESN'T RECOGNISE MY LOG-IN AND PASSWORD..... It's just mildly frustrating. Mildly. A little.

In any case, keep an eye on the link for the Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club Roster, I'll try to update it as soon as I can. I hope.

RIGHT NOW!

andyopus: I would grunt here, but I found the black goldfish story to be far too upbeat and happy not to be thoroughly amused by it. If you'd just check out the Want to Join? section of the Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club Roster, it'll present you the highly regimented manner with which we accept membership. If you ever come back and read this, that is to say. Which you might very well not. Oh well. I still liked the goldfish story.

Myst_Williams: If you're really stuck for female voiceover help, try from the list of females in the Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club Roster, since not every female in the NGVAC checks out this messageboard all the time.

Anax: You seem to have been deluged by several really bad reviews in a row. Like, as you say, OUCH! Anyway, this review is going to be pretty harsh, as well, so if you don't wanna read it.... Skip on ahead! Actually, I'm going to post a version of this in the reviews for your movie, too.

I thought this was mostly a technically well done piece of animation, it's just a shame that the humour just.... Doesn't quite work. Either the jokes weren't all that funny to begin with, or the timing was REALLY off. Most of the jokes just fizzled out because you either did the punchline a beat too early, or a beat too late. For example, when Captain Prego says his name on the rooftop, the ninjas laugh a little too late, not to mention there's a section in between which we THINK is the punchline, but then we're blindsided by something else that's meant to be the REAL punchline. It's a very tricky tightrope act, and unfortunately you kinda fell off and plunged 250 feet straight down with this one. And that "WAH WAH WAH WAAAAAAAAAH!" just makes me want to scream. O.o The only joke that seemed done right was how Captain Prego dispatches the head ninja: There was a good, simple lead up time, a brief pause of "What's he going to do next???", and then the punchline.

Then there's the dialogue itself. It just doesn't flow together very well. It sounds like somebody took care of one half of the translation, then another took care of the other half, and then the two halves of the script were added together later on without trying to smooth out the jagged edges. Then there's a third guy who comes in and randomly shuffles around and cuts up the recorded lines so that a reply to one sentence becomes a question in another, or what was once a sentence said in a single breath now -- becomes -- like -- this. This can disastrously affect the performance of the actors, who are now saying their lines in a completely different context, and now sound like babbling idiots.

It also doesn't help that the animation seems mistimed to the vocal performances. For example, when Captain Prego is driving in the car, he sounds angry and intense, but his face is all smiling and happy. Then when he says "Nobody calls me a dwarf!", he contorts his face into so many expressions that it goes from being funny to just plain confusing: "Is this supposed to be funny? Scary? Suspenseful? What?". Some of the physical actions taken by the characters are also really bizarre considering what they're saying out loud, and that creates a real disconnect between the voice and the character. There's a rhythm in the voice that you have to take into account when animating the characters, and if you don't do so it sounds like a badly dubbed Hong Kong movie.

Overall, I'd say most of the problem comes from the "localisation". Not just the translation of text, but just the general FEEL of the animation. At the moment it feels very awkward, like putting a joke through Babelfish and then trying to tell it straight off in that language. I encountered the same problem of awkwardness when I was working in the Final Fantasy: Mixed in Balamb 2 series, a problem which became ESPECIALLY noticeable in episode 3. Boy, was THAT a disaster.

Brute999: .... ergh.

Chocci: Whoa. Another Aussie in da hizzouse. That's different. And don't worry, I have followed mastered your "Australian lingo", so we can converse freely much to the bewilderment of our American onlookers on this forum! So, where do you live errrr.... Mate? Done hard yakka by woop-woop way in the old bumbag, bloke? COOOOOOOOOE! Anyway, now that you're horrified by my deliberate attempts to mangle 'strine, I shall review of your sample.... In the next post.

Total number of grunts of general annoyance in this megapost stretch: 9

Who the heck even reads these megaposts any more, anyway?

Response to: Voice Acting Club Posted June 29th, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

Man, recent events have been awfully strange on NG. Why, it could drive a man stir crazy to try and keep it all straight, dawg! STIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIR CRAZZZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAH! Anyway. Megapost.

TESM: Haha, I just realised where I got the "severe face with big boofy afro from" idea from. See the attached image, my head's in the clouds. Still, continuing with that particular trend would be awesome, mucho gracias! Anyway, I thought that was a pretty good monologue you had for that clip on 191, though I could hear (right at the very beginning before the music starts) a little bit of background hum. But apart from that, it sounds spiffy. And you need to shake that negativity, man. One day, you're going to get runover by a bus, the underground water mains burst beneath your feet, lifting your broken body into the air to be caught in the middle of bullet-fire from nearby rival ice cream gangs, before you get sucked into the engine of a low flying stealth fighter that then gets hit by a meteorite that's shaped like Elvis' head. And then you're going to say (somehow, in the midst of all the pain): "I knew that was going to happen". Lighten up man! Get some sugar in your system! Let your smile be your umbrella! Every cloud has a silver lining! No news is good news! A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush! Alls well that ends well! Sorry, I just got carried away with the random sayings.

lbpictures: .... ugh.

mormor91: .... agh.

ScarlettKitsune: .... egh.

MC_Huggies: Good luck with doing your voice over demo! And a Sennheiser? Well, hopefully it's not the same model as this one. But hey, I'm using a rather ordinary (and pathetic) Labtec mic for my recordings, so anything's gotta be better than that.

Fenix_Onslaught: You have been added to the Mainstay Roster, don't worry. It's just that I can't seem to upload anything to my webserver right now and update the roster overall. Crappy piece-of-shizzle. And I liked your template for producers looking for voice actors, but like Elliair said, it's hard enough to get people joining to post a profile with a sampler. Getting producers in on the act would probably be impossible. Still, I'll keep that template around in case we ever need it, since it looks good and gets the point across. And I have to admit, I like being able to gauge whether or not I want to be in a certain production based upon how a producer posts his auditions without the help of a certain template. Any casting calls with the words "plz", "k?" or "asl" in it is usually a bad sign, along with anyone with a poor grasp of punctuation and the carriage return key. And well done on Stop Crying 2! That was a series I wish I auditioned for when I had a chance. Oh well.

dareel1lilthug: .... ogh.

Jerma: I know you already talked about it in a chat or two, but I thought that whole "village of filmmakers" thing sounded awesome. Kinda like how Van Gogh wanted to create a village of artists and invited the greatest painters of his age to live in his community! Only it failed miserably and only one guy turned up, but hopefully that won't run true for you either! Good luck with ze filmmaking! And man.... I wanna scare the crap out of people with a crazy-assed super deep voice too. Pfoo.

KitsuneSqueak and Mikoto_HiME: eep. Two female VAs temporarily absent from the NGVAC Mainstay roster on the eve of its inception. I mean, two guys would be okay since there are just so many of us, but that reduces the female workforce by 16%! NOES! @_@;;; Well, I guess we can sruvive. Maybe. But the workload may drive us all insane! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! But at any rate, good luck to the both of you with your moving and hiatus. Just hope that there will be.... an NGVAC to return to.... ooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooh....

Frogs: Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan.... Apparently EVERYONE is going to AX this year. People from the VAA, people from this club.... I knew I shouldn't have spent all that money on those [insert humorous alliterary reference here]! Anyway, have fun at AX, I'm sure it'll be a blast. And if you're bored you could always visit Hollywood! Or Disneyland! Or get mugged! I hear getting "mugged" is a once-in-a-lifetime that I have to try when visitng your American cities! And I have to admit, some of the Mainstay on that list are there by my own choosing, as well as those who actually replied to Elliair's email. Obviously, not all the names on that list are exactly posting to the NGVAC on a regular basis, but I felt that based on the talent in their samplers, they deserve to be in better than the temps list. And..... whoa? Creating your own isolated, soundproofed recording booth? That's awesome man! Good luck with your project! The absolute silence without the computer fan and a whole lot of other noises in the background should make your recording quality shoot through the roof and a couple of NASA satelites. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

I_OWN_HELL: .... igh. X2

idOcrEatING: .... urgh.

Newgrounds Gear Solid: The Twin Kags: Now I know what the sound of one hand clapping sounds like. Anyway, this whole incident just reeks of "desperate, plaintative plea for attention" and I'm going to stay the hell away. Plus, it scares the begeezus out of me that there's now a "Mini-Kags" running around. Brrr. Spooky. I'm gonna have nightmares tonight.

KagomeHigurashi: Heh, "Omahdon1590". Actually, as some people may know, may name isn't exactly an original creation either, though it's a little bit more obscure than the character names for Inu Yasha. Not sure how I'd react if somebody ever stole my name, but the words "rage" "towering" and "gargantuan" would probably fit in there, somewhere.

Evil_Spartan: .... argh.

TheLastDinosaur: Have a look in the Want to Join? section of the Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club Roster. It will provide the details for how to join, as well as help on how to fill the requirements.

Game_Max: Oh, for the love of god: You don't eat things you find lying in the the gutter, and you DON'T pick up voiceover help from people who post non-substantial like "i am voice actor. i am very good. i have no samples." Yeesh. Kids these days.

TO BE CONTINUED!

Anax: Those lines sound suspiciously like the lines I did as an old man.... Or maybe I'm just drawing that conclusion from the fact that "OUCH!" is once again used as a shout of pain. I realise there's a bit of language barrier here so I'll give you a heads-up: Nobody ever actually says "OUCH!" when they're in pain (at least, not the kind of pain you want for that particular bit). I think what you want is more of an "AAAAAH!" or "OOOOOOOH!" or even an "AIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!". But not "OUCH!". Never an "OUCH!". Why am I even typing this, anyway? Now that I look at it, this message is somewhat stupidly nitpicky. Oh well! Anyway, looking forward to when the final animation is released!

Frogs: I kinda agree with Frogs here over the surge of posts that are only one or two lines long at most. Try to keep this thread relatively free of spam. One-liners are what instant messenging services are for, afterall! And things areso much easier to read when I don't have to do a lot of it. So stop posting. Because it's good for my eyes. Look at them swirl!: @_@

Hobbes_The_Prince: Hey, you're never too old to start college! In my case, again! I'm doing a 2nd year Bachelor of Media course right now and I'm 25. Sure, you'll have the constant nagging sensation that everyone around you is fresh out of high school and you feel distinctly out of place for being so old and not as hip with today's kids new fangled music and fashion, but! .... Wait, there is no but in this sentence. Oh well, you'll just have to suffer it out. At least you get to be surrounded by young college co-eds, eh? Eh eh?

KitsuneSqueak: Well.... That ewok demo was highly disturbing and will probably keep me awake at night shivering from fright. "The bears! The bears! Coming to get us all! They're everywhere! EVERYWHERE!" Anyway, I thought it was fairly accurate.... Though I don't know if that's a good thing, or not. @_@ I will say, however it sounds like you're "whisper shouting" and not really straining your voice like you would for a real battlecry. You probably did this prevent spiking most probably, so I can understand that. You might also want to add some kind of reverb to your voice so it sounds like it's in a real location: a kinda open space with lots of trees and such. Currently, your samples sound a bit too clean. That takes experimentation to get down properly without going overboard, though. Anyway, hope this random assortment of words and punctuation help you out!

TESM: Ha! I look somewhat like the G-Man from Half-Life 2 with a slight afro. AFRO! Make the afro bigger and I'll be happy! I'll be the weird, severe looking guy with an afro. That'll be so awesome! Sorry, I just find afros inherently hillarious. @_@;;;

NGVAC in general: Whoa, we seem to be getting a resurgence of people posting in this thread! I wonder if it has anything to do with the planned cull? Eh? eeeeeeeeh? :-P Also, I can't wait to see what people have in store for the whole NGVAC logo/animation thing. That includes TripleArrow, Elliair, TESM, MC_Huggles et al! I'm worried as to how they're all going to fit for a webpage that has to acheive a certain "look" though. The whole "clash of different colour schemes and styles" is.... mildly perturbing. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

We also seem to be teetering on the edge of another century of pages. w00t! Season 1 is coming to a close, now we can open up a new chapter! Filled with plot twists! Romance! Angst! Costumes! Aliens from another planet! Who knows what wild, totally expected hi-jinks will ensue??? Perhaps we shall even see a backlash from the cull, resulting in a series of posts known as.... "THE TEMPS STRIKE BACK"! All part of the continuing saga that is.... THE NGVAC!

.... I think I've gone crazy and I don't know it.

Anyway, here's a list of people who posted their profiles recently who are getting added to the temp roster: Aralo and Loco-Evil-Dabdoub. If you have anything to say about it in protest, now would be a good time. Normally I'd email them too, but.... Well, I think them checking back here to see this message would be another form of a litmus test for "mainstay vs temp".

Response to: Voice Acting Club Posted June 22nd, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

Kerreck-Resputin: I know that it's cruel, but I have to admit your posts indicating your titanic struggle to get a sampler uploaded makes me giggle. I am a sadistic sort of man.

TESM: Sounds like everybody and their dog named "Timothy" is getting in on the act of getting something NGVAC-related drawn up and looking all purdy. So! I shall toss my picture into the mix. Errrr.... See the picture linked below for what I look like according to a sketch by Elliair. I prefer to use that picture as a basis instead of the one in which I have no pants. No one wants to see a picture of me, especially with no pants. A lack of pants just adds to the "creepy, weird feeling" factor.

Elliair: I'm lovin' that logo based on EA's little riff. Looks all slick and professionalised! Though I fear the path of homogenisation that this adoption of a major coporate entity's logo may take us. @_@ Still, it's small, it loads quickly and gets the point across very quickly. It's the kind of thing flash animators who use the NGVAC can slip in their movie somewhere without unecessarily bloating the filesize. Awesome!

Woo! Finally after almost an entire month of not updating the roster, I finally got one male and one female to add to that list.... So congrats to Cristina_Vee and Fenix_Onslaught! Later. I think I'll do a proper update after the cull so I can get the whole addition and subtraction of profiles from the roster out of the way then. Yeah, that's going to bring up the time I've spent not updating hte website to about one and a half months, but whatcha gonna dew? I'll add the "mainstay vs temp" rosters as well when that time comes.

In other news, I forgot to give congrats to Frogs for his roles in Death and Friends. What a strange and quirky cartoon. Nice voice characterisations you got going there and very high quality audio, yeeks.

In some (semi-new) news, Surface, which was originally a Lifepoint1-only release and starred Lucien and KagomeHigurashi from the NGVAC (as well as Sakura from the VAA) has made its way onto Newgrounds here. Check it.

And now a short megapost.

MC_Huggies: Ooohh.... Recording in a professional studio setup sounds nice (in more ways than one! ZING!) And I look forward to you and TripleArrow's rendition of an NGVAC logo and/or flash. w00tage!

Fenix_Onslaught: I weep tears of unrestrained joy. It's been so long since I've seen a male profile that actually had a sample. And one that rocks all out, as well. Very nice, indeed! You're getting a D-- ....ded! To the Mainstay Roster! When I get around to making it! And I think you've brought a lot of joy to a very dark time for profiles in the NGVAC, indeed. O.o

barrab: Looks like I have the first candidate for the Temp Roster. Congratulations!

And, finito.

Response to: Voice Acting Club Posted June 20th, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

Looks like there's a consensus regarding the whole "mainstay vs. temp" thing. I'll just make up a simple text document with names and emails. Basically, it'll be a list of people who just say "i wnt 2 jion" with absolutely nothing to back their voiceover abilities or if they even have a microphone. Smart people will figure out what's going on when their names have been added to the temp list and will obviously try and rectify that as soon as possible. The rest will probably the ones who: a) are doing voiceovers on a very occasional "oneliner" basis, b) joined for the sake of joining, c) never check back on the club ever again or d) have very little in the way of mental agility.

Admittedly, I think this might take a lot more work than should really be allowable for people who CAN'T SEEM TO READ THE BLOODY INSTRUCTIONS AT THE TOP OF ALMOST EVERY SINGLE PAGE IN THIS F**KING THREAD.... But on the otherhand, it's a solution that requires less maintenance than having to tell every single person who doesn't read to use their ocular senses for ONCE.... And it's a solution that's not as completely heartless as ignoring people who want to join up (although it's.... awfully tempting).

Afterall, where would we all be if we went BAM! straight into a brick wall the first time you joined? You'd probably think the NGVAC were a bunch of stick-in-the-mud-and-the-ass people and just bugger off, leaving no chance for the beautiful friendships thatwould have flourished if we had been more welcoming! Or some such. Anyway, I guess that means more work for me. Le sigh.

Bezo: But *I* can't be put in the temp! Not after all the sexual favours and porn I rendered unto the guy who maintains the roster! I didn't do those handjobs for nothing! I worked my way to the top by sleeping with the right people, damnit! @_@ VIVA LE ME!

Elliair: Sure, send that list of people over and I'll try to match the email with the username and start clearing the mainstay list and drawing up the temps list. Wow. It's been almost a month since I last updated, according to the last day I added new people. And seriously, I appreciate all the work you, D-Mac_Double and TripleArrow do in regards to getting that first page post up there every time a new page gets made on the NGVAC. I really think we should really keep it even if people continue to ignore it in favour of posting profiles that continue to lack demos (oh timing, thy name is irony!).

I mean, just in CASE people come in, read a couple of pages first before diving right into the whole shebang, at least they have the right tools to arm themselves with to make a profile. As for everybody else who continues to reply with rampant stupidity, they get sent to the "temps" folder. And this way, we'll know the ones who are actually trying to join the club versus those who just toss out a profile without a braincell in their noggin.

But yes, the BEST solution is to get that damn first post edited with new info. Thatwould make everyone's lives so much easier.

TVs_Slayer: As always, you are fulla crazy. That is most admirable, indeed.

Shanetheguy: You make me sad.

I should really get a review of Christina's samples and whatnot up, though I think she'll be a good shoe-in into the roster without my critiques.... Ah hell, I'll just add her. An entire month without applicants is kinda weird.

..... Ugh. Short answer: No. Long answer: Hell no. Have an example of what voices you can do. Upload it unto the internet. "Email me 4 samples, plz k?" is not an acceptable response. Look here for details on how to join. And please, only join if you're SERIOUS about it. We have way too many members as it is who join up, then disappear off the face of the earth never to be seen again. You just take up space on the roster and just make things more irritating for producers looking for people for their flash.

This gives me a slight flash of inspiration.

To the rest of NGVAC: You know what? Considering the tighter quality control the NGVAC is putting on the roster, I think we need a "everybody else page" for people who just don't meet the requirements, or just want to voice something on an casual basis. Like a Russian Roulette page of people who've said they'd like to help out with VAing but don't have a sampler and don't fulfill other requirements or whatnot, etc. That way we can seperate out the mainstays from the temps, and everybody will be happy. Of course, the problem now is determining who is a mainstay and who is a temp?

Hmmmmm.... Lots of people seem to have commented on my little monologue sample ever since I decided to start threatening bodily harm. I must remind myself of such a thing and threaten more bodily harm in the future! Yes, with such a tactic I could make a KILLING in the world's market! Ha! And I slipped a pun in there as well! Ha! How I laugh! Now I stop. Anyway, thanks for the gushing comments of praise, guys! I shall doubtlessly dissect the monologue later on when I feel it has too many faults and need a complete redo (I do that often).... In fact, right now I feel it needs some tightening up in areas. But for now I shall leave it alone, happy that it's done its job of creeping people out. Huzzah!

In terms of the VAA, I think a lot of the lack of respect for the club and its league of assembled voice talent is the fact that we are: A) a very young club, 2) made up of people who are fairly new to voice acting and Gamma) have a roster filled with too many people of questionable talent. Believe me, they probably don't have a grudge (personally) against any one of you, it's just that the NGVAC is very small, with very few opportunities to voice act due to the low number of producers who actually come to the NGVAC for voice acting help. And even if they do come here for help, the roles are either fairly light on complexity and style, and there's every chance they'll just disappear because the producer gets bored.

Actually, the producer just up and disappearing is something that commonly happens in the VAA, as well. In fact, I even made a radioplay about it! Which I shan't link right now, because I have decided that I've been enough of a clip whore. For now. I'll just save it for later, huzzah! But anyway, producers disappear all the time on the VAA, but at the same time there's a sophistication to the work you can get there that's definitely lacking to the stuff on NG. Plus, there's a definite system in place for casting and auditioning and there's just plain MORE to audition for. Not like the cutthroat, chaotic free-for-all and "grab what you can" system the NGVAC has currently going on over here.

Also, this club has been around for about 6 months. That's pretty impressive for an NG club. Okay, maybe not OVERLY impressive compared to the 1000+ pages of the Anime Club, but still, people outside of this club have been dropping a link here when a post comes up asking for voice actors. The VAA has been around for 3 YEARS. And that's just its current incarnation. Older members (like myself) can remember other, older versions of that particular voice acting community back when it had other names depending upon who was maintaining the site at the time. In that time, it's developed quite a pedigree. It has me, for starters. XD *pops my ego with a pinprick* Aw.

I know this doesn't really excuse the level of rudeness you guys may have encountered but I'm just giving some reasons for the slight lack of REE-ZPECT y'all may be feeling from the VAA. Remember, it's not personal, just politics. And a lack of proper information from both sides of both sides and their relative IQ levels. And then there's the ultimate irony: The guy who maintains the NGVAC roster is an old-time VAA hand himself. There's gotta be a conflict of interest in there somewhere.

Anyway, vaguely megapostage time!

TripleArrow: I like that oldtime limey look, though at the same time, I fear it might be a little bit too eccentric and esoteric for the average producer looking for VAs. On the otherhand, who am I to talk? I had myself speaking like Richard Attenborough as an introduction to the NGVAC roster for a while. This NGVAC movie will probably turn out very awesome with a little bit of work, love and collab! And thanks for keeping me in mind for a part! I loves been scouted for roles. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! My monologue has done its job well!

Jerma: Thanks for commenting on my monologue! You make me blush. I give you manlove now! And by manlove, I mean "not manlove". So erm, I guess that means I give you nothing. Except critique your Dooku voice! I think you did good there, capturing the elegance, arrogance and age of the character. I'm partially jealous because whenver I do Dooku, I sound either like a superhero or one of the Three Tenors. Just.... can't.... DEW IT!

Hobbes_The_Prince: Awwwww.... Sorry to hear you and Jerma had a bad experience with the VAA. They're a bunch of nice guys really. And gals. Lots of gals. Mostly gals, really. As compared to the rather population here on NG. But anyway, you've read my take on the whole NGVAC vs. VAA thing above so I'll just leave it at that.

Isca: eek! Good luck with the amount of stress you have to pull yourself through! @_@ I shall take up the duty of molesting Elliair in your absence. *molests* Wait! This isn't Elliair! It's a double designed to throw me off her scent! CURSE YOU, MAKERS OF DOUBLES DESIGNED TO THROW ME OFF HER SCENT!

Response to: Voice Acting Club Posted June 15th, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

Whoa! Lots of things seemed to have happened in my absence. Let me see if I can tackle them in the approximately chronological order that they occured:

People who keep posting their profiles without examples: Stop. Just..... Stop. Please. You hurt the me that lies deep down in my soul with such things. Stop. @_@ You know what? Screw the profiles from the last couple of pages between this and my last megapost. I don't feel like updating right now. SCREW THEM ALL!

No one said anything about the monologue that I did except for TripleArrow: Hence, he shall not be deaded amongst all of the NGVAC. If ye wish to be saved, comment on this! Or just plain don't if you don't care. I'll just go and cry myself to sleep that's all.

The NGVAC logo: I still like the D-Mac's "Because your voice probably sucks" and Elliair's little still pic rendition of it, but I'd LOVE to see someone come up with an animated logo. Possibly with a voiceover that sounds like a professional and serious ad, including the "Because your voice probably sucks" part. I think that would be utter class.

No one told me anything about the reformation of the roster structure: I'm kinda nnoyed about that, since everybody just went ahead with the plan without asking me anything about it. On the otherhand, that was how the roster was made in the first place (I didn't consult anybody when I dun did make it), and I don't actually disagree with the whole cull thing so.... I'll justgo and be all pissy and annoyed at this tennis ball *bes pissy and annoyed at the tennis ball*. I also don't know about doing the splitting up of the roster into convenient partitions of voice acting talent, since that sounds like a lot more work than I'm prepared to undertake. It sounds like a good idea though, along with other things that sound like a good idea if I don't have to do any work.

I think we should worry about the cull for now, and then try and organise everything else after that. It could be the nukmber of VAs would be cut down to almost nothing, at which point making "talent sections" would be pointless. I do think the NGVAC page needs a brand new look though.... And possibly split stuff into seperate sections so the page isn't so damn long. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Lots of other people posted clips: But being the horrible hypocrite that I am, I shall not listen to any of them and ignore them all completely! AHAHAHAHAHA! I am indeed, the epitome of evil.

I think that's enough for now, I'd have done a normal megapost, but I'm tired and everything that needs to be said about stuff seems to have already been said. Heck, even this post seems kinda useless when I think about it but.... Whatever. I live!

Will post a proper megapost later, but I thought I'd jump into the whole "people posting clips" thang with this monologue by Seishirou from Volume 7 of the Tokyo Babylon manga. Enjoy as you will, or not! Needless to say, it contains spoilers so erm.... Yeah. Well, back to writing that essay.
