No, we don't normally charge people to use our voices for flash, we just ask to be given a little spot in the credits.

Response to: Voice Acting Club Posted April 22nd, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

Okay, just a post to say that the....

THE NEWGROUNDS' VOICE ACTING CLUB ROSTER!!!!

....has been updated. New profiles added: For the females side there's Aimi, DarkKnightDamsel and topleka. On the males side there's Jerma and MC_Huggies. Man, this is one of the few times I can say that the number of additions to the females outweigh the males. Cools.

And thus ends the update to the roster for another two weeks.

Bl00D_LINE: What grim_studios said. Simply read up on the "Want to Join the Club?" section of the "roster" and then "post" your information "here". Considering the fact that it's going to be a "public" profile, if that's going to be a "problem" I'd suggest you not join at all. But the information isn't really "personal" anyway. It's "voice acting" related, like what this "club" is "for". Man, these quotation marks sure are "addictive".

Response to: Voice Acting Club Posted April 22nd, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

Man, it seems the longer the delay between megaposts there is, the slower the posting to the thread gets. Or maybe I'm just an egotistical megalomaniacal madman who thinks the entire world revolves around him. Anyway, megapostage.

Bezo: I must say, before I heard that clip, I'd never heard an anthem rendered quite so evilly. But now I can say I have! Man. Soundwave sure is a spooky fella! O.o And yes, Terry Pratchett fan right here, yo! Rincewind in da hizzhouz! Stercus stercus morturuus sum! And whatnot. I love the Discworld novels. They be funnage. :-P And being sick sounds bad.... Hope you get better! Use many a home remedy involving lemon juice and tea: as reccomended by voice actors the world over!

Frogs: I'll have to add that to my list of imitateable characters: Barney Gumble when he's singing. *nods nods* And oh my, yes. 56K teaches patience like no other. It also teaches you that streaming content is evil, and should never have been created. ALL CONTENT MUST BE DOWNLOADABLE! DEATH TO THOSE WHO SAY OTHERWISE! Which is everybody who has broadband. Yer lucky bastiches.

Elliair: Thank you SO much for dealing with the multiple perps who try to join and are clueless about the actual process. As always, you're a godsend. May many roles be showered upon you! If you want! If you don't then.... May the roles you currently have be fruitful and multiply to many other flash producers scouting you! Yais! And one more thing: What time is the meeting on the 23rd and what's the time zone that time is set in? I could just sit around and wait for 24 hours, but it'd be easier for me if I have to take coffee only if I need to. O.o

DarkKnightDamsel: You'd probably have better luck getting roles by trawling all of Newgrounds for anything with the words "voice" "voices" "actor" and "help" in them. It's the way I weed out the voice acting-related posts from stuff that aren't. Then again, I miss out on the rest of that newgrounds BBS community thang with that method so.... I dunno.

Isca: Oooh! OOOOH! Sing the English version of Voices! Please? Singing anime songs in the original Japanese is a dime-a-dozen but listening to full-blown translated anime OPs and EDs in English is a pleasure I miss with all the new dubbed anime that come out nowadays. I miss Pioneer doing Tenchi Muyo songdubs. They were great. :-( On the otherhand, I'm glad there are no more songs for AnimEigo to try and render ickily in Bubblegum Crisis. Those were..... eheh.

TVs_Slayer: If George Michael was dead he'd be rolling in his grave. Heck, that singing clip of yours might send him to the grave in the first place and THEN force him to roll over. @_@ Now listenlich auch to THIS for more terrible singing! And that random radio thing was.... Amazingly random. And it was RANDOM random. That was cool. Virtual dial-twiddling! I'll never have to listen to regular radio again. @_@ Sorry to hear the project is so whacked, yargh. :-( Can be frustrating I know. Maybe you should set exact deadlines which the cast can then negotiate individually (in case of problems or whatnot). And if they miss their appointed deadline, BLAM! Replace them with a stuffed animal. And the only injuiry I've ever suffered from VA is that horrific scratchiness the next day if I did a lot of screaming the day before.

KagomeHigurashi: Noted your link to the narrator demo and will add it to your profile in the next update! Nice work with that narration demo. Very.... narrate-y!

Aimi: Well, when I tried to download the files it said I had to be a member first or something. O.o If it's free I guess I have no excuse, but even so I dun wanna sign up for something else that I'll most likely never use! Too many net IDs as it is! Argh! But now I shall listen to your one clip in the audio portal to relax. It also functions as fun tropical beachhouse music! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh... And I'm glad you liked my stupendously bad singing clip! And now Drowtales is on Newgrounds as well! YAY! Frontpage! XD

MC_Huggies: You got my lines as the hobo, right? Were they okay? They were okay right? Hobo-ish enough for you? @_@ And voice acting is serious business! In fact, the internet is serious business! For serious business things only! And now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch some serious business movies in the Flash portal and find me some serious business porn. IT'S SERIOUS BUSINESS PEOPLE! INTERNET IS.... SERIOUS BUSINESS! @_@

vashtsakared: Nice acapella work there with that song. Slightly creepy too. O.o

Jerma: Your song of the horse without a leg has touched me. Deeply. In places I never knew I had. Opera is so moving at times. Oh! ;_; Tears coming out of my eyes! Oh! Followed by an equally touching Christmas story! So.... Touched! Truly, these are the human stories that make life worth living. Or possibly not. I hate Christmas anyway. Jesus' birthday so close to mine, Son of God, making it an internationally celebrated holiday.... BAH! I coulda been the messiah, if I wanted to! But I'm keepin' it real, yanno wat I'm sayin', holmes?

El_Shamro: Noted your Yahoo ID and will add it to your profile in the next update!

D-Mac_Double: I like "NGVAC: Because your own voice probably sucks." but I think it'd be too REAL for people to handle, yanno wat I'm sayin'? Still, that one amuses me the most. Har. XD

almightyhans: I've tried emailing you but it seems your mailbox is full. That's noisome. Anyway, I'd be interested in trying out for something if you have lines for me to read? Or I could send you my general samplers when your email becomes less full-up.

Shock_Dingo: I'm right here, Dave. I can call you Dave, right? Looks like we're the only two still here. Ayup. The last two people in this thread! Looks like we're going to have to entertain ourselves. Somehow. Whoops! Looks like I dropped a bar of soap! Could you bend over and get it for me? @_@

The following is important for all newcomers of the VAC who wish to join:

NG VAC ROSTER!!11!!!1!!1

All Who Wish To Join The VAC: Click right here.
When joining, remember: NEVER post your profile when joining UNLESS you have a demo of your voice ready and you've uploaded it on a website for easy access! Yes! THAT MEANS YOU! Ignore this requirement when joining and you will be beaten severely with a banana. And it will hurt. A lot.

If you need any additional help, contact Elliair via AIM or E-mail (her contact information is in her profile) or contact -Frogs-. Once again, welcome to the VAC (to all who are new here) and enjoy your stay! <3

To the Talented Flash Animators & Producers: Thank you for choosing the NG VAC for your voice actor/actress source! We all hope that you are able to find voice actors and actresses suitable for any roles that you may have available. Click here.

~[This is the Unofficial first page post of the NG VAC - brought to you by Omahdon ripping off Elliair's schtick. WOO!]~

PS: This is not a triple post. This is a figment of your foolish imagination. Go back to sleep, Johnny. Go back and sleep.... FOREVER!

What do you mean, did I have to split my megapost between two posts? Don't be foolish! Why would I do such a curious thing? It's simply too vague! What an unkind thing to say! Rather! And I did not accidentally post a link in the middle of my last megapost! That was purely accredential! I sometimes use words which I don't economate.

Sty2000: Errrrr.... Well, I only listened to D-Mac's cleaned up version of your sample, since your original clip just plain disappeared. You've got an interesting voice, I can think of any number of anime that could use a "typical teen voice that isn't actually all that typical" voice like that. But really, I'm gonna have to say: Try again. Take a listen to other people's demos, write up a script and do voices for a minute or so. There's no hurry, this club ain't going anywhere. Just submit your profile and another clip when you got something recorded that isn't a lot of silence while you're desperately thinking of something to say into the mic. And learn how to clean up your own samples while you're at it.

D-Mac: By the time you read this, the ban will probably be over so: Thanks for cleaning up Sty2000's sample, but unless you're willing to do that for him every time he needs to send lines somewhere, he needs to learn dat for himself. So I really can't accept that as his sample. Also, sorry to hear about the ban. Kinda weird tho. O.o

MC_Huggies: But I can't sing. Are you calling me a bad VA? No, don't answer that, I think I can't bear to hear the real truth. Oh, the pain! The pain of it all!

Bezo: GOLD! GOLD GOLD! GOLD GOLD GOOOOOOOLD! That opera snippet was, well, GOLD! As opposed to Glod, who is a very confused dwarf. I loved it! ENCORE! XD And way to twist the knife in KagomeHigurashi's gut there. XD Yes, to become a TRUE facsimile of a Japanese voice actress you will need to be able to sing! SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING! Sing until all your other bodily functions fail!

Aimi: I couldn't access your clips on SoundClick, but after listening to your song on the Newgrounds Audio section, I wish I could. Wow, that was a very funky, jazzy little beat. I'm feeling all relaxed and smooth as a really cool cat. Who is cool. And a cat. This is the kind of music superspies would listen to while putting their mackdaddy moves on the ladies! Either that, or it'd be used for the opening credits sequence for some 70s criminal caper flick involving stolen diamonds. I like. XD

Hobbes_The_Prince: Welcome back to you too! You've been away for quite a while yourself. O.o How was your walkabout? Did you catch your Dreaming?

DarkKnightDamsel: Oooooooh..... *claps claps claps* I like this knowledge of singing! In fact, you, Isca and Aimi are a knowledgeable bunch, aren't you? And you're all women! Hmmmm.... A conspiracy? PERHAPS! Or maybe I just missed out on all this when the pamphlets for "How not to completely ruin your voice when you sing" got handed about. Darn.

MEGAPOST-U! TIME-A UPERU!

There was a lot of commenting on singing clips in this particular megapost. O.o So now, I too shall have a clip for people to comment on! And you will. Because if you don't, my 56K modem shall weep for having worked so hard in downloading your massive clips. It's even lathered itself in my sweat in order to make it appear to be some sort of living creature capable of persperation. Yarr.

Anyway, I just dug out a pretty old clip from one a decrepit section of my CD collection. It was a clip for when I decided to enter a competition at the VAA called: "Awful Idol". I think you can all guess what the purpose of the competition was. In any case, here's me singing that DDR classic: BUTTERFLY! Performed as a duet by an opera singer and a rap artist. Enjoy it. Because you're secretly a masochist.

Oh and check it out: KagomeHigurashi and I (amongst many, many others) are in the Drowtales 4th Anniversary Animation. It's kawaii to the max!

Response to: Voice Acting Club Posted April 19th, 2005 in Clubs & Crews

Whoa, I seem to have missed out on a whole lot of stuff in my time away. Specifically net-drama with some guy or other whose posts got deleted a day later. I wanted to see some net-drama. Aw. :-( Well, Elliair's replies stand as the only evidence that such an event transpired. Truly! It was a net-drama that never was.... WITH THE POWER OF POST DELETION! That's a neat power.

Oh, and I've finished my final essay today. YAY! I'm free for the rest of the mid-semester break! Which is only two weeks long! And I spent the first week of that worrying/ignoring/fretting/occasionally writing my essay! So I only have a week left! Technically 6 days! And even less than that if I want to catch up on all the reading I'm meant to do in preparation for my coming lessons!

.... Now I'm sad again. ;_;

But anyway, megapost time. WOOSH!

Jerma: Nice array of voices you got in your clip, there! I especially love the crazy laughs. I'm glad you took the time to learn how to use Audigy to clean up your samples. For one thing, it really makes them sparkle (if just a little, SMIDGEN overprocessed) and for another, it shows you're really interested in joining. Good enough for me! I'll add your profile to the roster later (along with the link to your latest sampler and whatnot). And very nice work on that Final Fantasy 6 victory fanfare beatbox! That was neato.

The_Zodiak: Hey, I don't have to do any work this time to update the roster! Works for me. :-P Nice work on the variety of voices you got there. I like the fact that they're all little character skits and stuph!

Elliair: I shall remember the date of the chat as if it were etched into my heart. However, I would also like to etch the actually time and dateline that time is from. It might cause me a lot of internal bleeding and I might die from scratching words into the surface of that important muscle that pumps blood through my body.... But I needs to know! Ooooh! Yuri makes me forget my troubles and the fact that I'm not meant to be a nice person on the NGVAC! *pounces on yuri* MINE! @_@ But still, the yuri does not appease the pain from.... updating your profile. Sorrow. Weeping. Sadness. Really bad stuff. ;_;

And now you've made me break into two paragraphs to reply to a single person for the very first time! Does your tyranny know no bounds??? Anyway, I need this space to commentage on your clips and stuff so bear with me. I like your new demo. I want YOU to do a voice for ME. *growls sexfully. cracks whip* Very high quality stuff there. Makaes me wanna do up a new sampler as well. But I'll never forgive you for making me update links. Never. NEVAAAAAAAR! But that robot SFX is pretty neat. Very..... Doctor Who-ish, for some reason. And it's really weird to see you replying to stuff to a person who isn't there. O.o

Shock_Dingo: Man, I missed out on SFX voice night? Man. Now everybody's doing singing clips instead. And I know I can't sing! It's not fair. University work keeps me away from participating in all the good stuff. ;_; Anyway, I loved that filter.... Whatever it is you used. It's very.... ethereal-sounding and alien at the same time. Would have come in handy when I needed to do lines for an alien race some time back, but hindsight is 20/20. O.o

Isca: The "hot and heavy" factor in this thread has risen! HUZZAH! I'm all for rising hawt and hebbiness! Anyway, I thought you had a really good control of your voice in your song clip, though it sounds a little off-pitch acapella. Then again, I've never heard the actual song, so I can't really say for sure. My assessment may, in fact, be absolutely incorrect! Elliair is right though: Sailor Moon is soooooooo last century. Last MILLENIUM even. :-P Hey, that's a two in one pun, I think....

KagomeHigurashi: I thought you matched up pretty well with the original singer for "Fukai Mori" and was pretty darn spot on, though your effort was more or less drowned out by the original singer. Plus, there was a feeling that you were letting the original singer carry you over a couple of "rough spots", substituting their performance to make up for yours. Your second clip of "My Will" had the unfortunate side-effect of making me remember a particularly bad songdub rendition of that song. It was.... really, really horrendous. The flashbacks burn. But anyway, nice sing-along again, though once again the original singer drowns you out and makes up for some of the notes you can't QUITE reach. But then again, for best results, you really need to sing to a karaoke version of the songs so you don't have to be a slave to the exact timing, pitch, tone etc. of the original singer and can mix it up a little bit. Or even do it acapella.

ricem0nsta: Like Frogs said, if you're so desperate for voice actors, why don't you go through the roster list and see who you can pick up for the remaining roles? Scout phttp://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~edwyn/AVA/zip/omahdon_butterfly.mp3eople! Listen to the samplers, see if they fit into the characters you want and email them. And you could always do some preliminary animating stuff while you're waiting or something. Draw the characters! Storyboard! Something visual to complement the audio! 'Cause there's nothing quite as frustrating as jumping into a project only to have it go nowhere but into the mud.

Frogs: You fool! Now they've learned to harness that terrible power in audio editing that is.... multi-tracking! You've taught the most evil of techniques, and inspired people to.... to.... SING! God, NO! Why, why all the singing? SO MUCH SINGING! THE SINGING BURNS THROUGH MY CARTILEGE! I will fight this array of sweet voices lifted in harmonious rapture.... With my own voice that BURNS with TONE-DEAF ALACRITY! Plus, I don't want to feel left out. @_@ And wow, that was a neat little song! It's like.... the 80s all over again. It gets a bit 90s with the electric guitar riffs, but there's a strangely nostalgic feeling to the song. Kinda like something that would go on The Breakfast Club soundtrack. The Weird Al version, anyway. :-P

Short Mega-post today. Heck, half the stuff I say here is superfluous, anyway. In the words of a certain character from a certain series of movies starring a certain pair of characters who aren't main characters until the last movie of that series: "I'm not even meant to BE here, today!"

DarkKnightDamsel: Yes! I have discoverererered your true identity! Although considering the fact that a whole lot of other VAA people have joined in the interum, perhaps that doesn't matter as much no more. @_@;;;;

Bezo: Yes, having plenty of enthusiasm makes up for any if not most shortcomings of an imitation! Works for me, anyway. Though sometimes directors aren't quite so forgiving. I remember being asked one time to do a reproduction of Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell (played by Michael Ironside). After half a dozen different tries the final verdict was, "No, you don't get the part" even though the character I was supposed to play didn't HAVE to sound like Michael Ironside, just some tough, military type. In the end the flash was released and what do I hear? Some 13 year old who pitched his voice WAY down to make it artificially manly to the point of laughable stupdity. Argh. Of course, this segues nicely into what I think is my favourite vocal effect: the reverse reverb. Take a sample, reverse it, add reverb, then reverse it again. Now you sound like a Protoss from Starcraft! Innit neat? Okay, that was actually pretty pathetic compared to your rather extremely accurate Soundwave, but it's all I's got. @_@

Shalamaseskia: When (if?) TVs_Slayer releases his NGVAC flash, you'll hear me saying my screen name. I'd be interested in how people would pronounce it without the proper context though. I think that would be amusing. I am easily amused.

MC_Huggies: Well, considering the fact that nobody else has given in a mini-review of your sampler, I guess it's up to me if you get added or not. I'll add your profile to the roster when I next update, then! Keep in mind though, it's probably in your best interest to get a better quality sampler up later. Fer real. Anyway, I look forward to the whole "secret casting" thingie! Should be interesting. O.o

Frogs: I have no idea what kind of effect you're talking about, but anything that makes me think inanimate objects are talking HAS to be cool. O.o

Elliair: I'll try to be at that huge chat, if I can. And I gots me some Yahoo IM! Thanks for organising this, too, you're really proactive about the whole club thing. O.o

TVs_Slayer: I think everybody's just busy doing other stuff. I know I should be. Which is why this megapost is gonna be short today. Good luck with your projects!

topleka, Aimi and chibi_lila: Welcome! Your profile has been noted, your samplers listened to, and you'll be added to the roster later. Except for you, chibi_lila, you were meant to be on the roster before, only your actual profile got deleted. oopsies. So you'll be readded, instead! Huzzah!

Now, back to the essay.

Well, this is a first: A megapost having to be split between two posts. Although admittedly, this one is going to be much shorter due to me JUST hitting the word limit. Rats. Oh well, people who got onto the second half of the megapost: feel special! You're making NGVAC changing history! Or something along those lines.

Isca: Good on you! I wish I had the courage to pass around my demo tapes to the people who be hiring voiceover artists. It's been over 5 years, and I still haven't done it yet. @_@;;;;

Masquerade_X: Why would I fit the role of Manabe too well? @_@;;; I don't go around performing surgeries on half-dead males to turn them into beautiful women! At least, not since last summer. That's when I discovered Christianity and gave up Christianity and founded my own religion for my soul's salvation!

KagomeHigurashi: You call that a super long post? HA! Fear my phallic-substitute sized MEGAPOST! @_@;;;; And... Cute little Haruko clip thing there! :-P

The_Zodiak: You seem to go through a lot of updates on your profile. More so than any other member so far. O.o It's not that they're hard to do, it's just.... unusual to see so many small updates in such a short period of time after being added. And weird. Anyway, your as-of-yet-unfinished resume link will be in your profile next time I update the roster!

D-Mac_Double: How can you even BE a "wannabe-gangsta trashtalking street basketball player" WITHOUT swearing? BIG TIME swearing. Swearing as PUNCTUATION, even. Swearing that functions as one part of the whole rhythm of a character, turning coarse language into a kind of music. O.o

Anyway.... There seems to be a lot of space left over so erm.... I guess I should talk about something. Or other. It doesn't feel right to have all this space and not do something with it.

.... *twiddles thumbs*

Well.... I guess I could talk about bad reviewer people who hound you even when you go to different roles and harrass your performance at each different point. Chasing you around like goldfish feces, and not nearly as cute as that image may be.

Aw hell, nevermind. I think I've gotten filled with MAD ANGERNESS over that subject more than enough. O.o

I make a megapost once every two or so days now.... Not because I'm busy or anything.... Well, I should be working on an essay, but who cares about that?! Well, I do. But not as much as I should. But anyway.... IT IS LE TIME FOR MEGAPOST!

Bezo: The sergeant voice is indeed much rockage. And making a series of flashes based on the adventures of a hard-edged, no-nonsense sergeant would go down pretty well around here, I think! Huzzah! And nice character impressions demo! I'll add it to the examples in your profile. Though again, like your previous character demo, some characters sounded more accurate than others. I'd play through it again to give a blow-by-blow account of all the different voices, but I'm a lazy bastard. And besides, who am I to talk? The only characters I can imitate (apparently) are an English Agent Smith and a gay English Vincent Price. O.o;;;;

Elliair: I'm glad you liked the rambling off the top of my head with its meandering, non-directed, free-range thought processes. XD And I'm sorry I made more work for you. ;_; Let me comfort you. With Isca's body. And take pictures of said comforting from a hidden peephole in another room that doubles as a developing lab. And, just set the time and date and I'll be there..... On Sunday my time, probably. Actually, I might even be there at all: I still have a report to write up, crap. But anyway.... If you give me the time (and your timezone) you guys are planning to have it, I'll try to show up. Or, if you can convert the time to GTM+9:30, that would be very helpful. ^_^ But on AIM? Does AIM even have group mic chatting capabilities?

TVs_Slayer: You get my lines yet for the NGVAC advert thing? I changed a couple of the lines around, but I think they'll still segue nicely into other people's lines.... Hopefully, they're not TOO over the top. Juuuuuuuuuuust over the top ENOUGH.

Shinigami_Ichigo: Ah, ranting in a particular voice would be interesting to do! But I prefer to play "myself" as a rather Hugh Grant-typish character who has far too many stammers in a single sentence for it to be considered anything that could be spoken by a real person. Anywhere. In the entire world. O.o Then again, maybe I'll do a rant... Agent Smith-stylez!

Naoki_san: Okay, you've definitely got the goods going in terms of voice acting and stuff.... But I really can't, in good faith, add you to the roster. At least, not yet. Your sampleage rate and the amount of noise you have in your clips are terrible, AND they're in wav format when mp3s are more space effective. Plus, they produce a lot less wear and tear on my poor 56K modem. Get yourself some Audacity and make recordings that are happy, shiny people! I have to say though: Nice initiative in setting up a webpage for your resume.

DarkKnightDamsel: Hey there, Laura! Or should I call you.... BATGIRL???? @_@ Welcome! It seems that, little by little, the VAA is invading Newgrounds' space. :-P Anyway, I'll add your profile to the roster later. Enjoy your stay here, these guys are for the most part okay! Except for that guy over there. He knows who he is. Yeah, you know who you are! @_@

Frogs: Ack, I've been meaning to look into some of the subtler clean-up/boosting effects on Cool Edit Pro beyond Noise Reduction. At the moment, I swear on Dynamics Processing to save my ass when I talk and shout in the same recording session, so that the shouting sounds like it's at the same volume as the talking. Or something like that. Lack of proper words.... To convey.... What I mean.... embarassing me! Noooooo! I stay away from the EQ settings in general because they tend to work against me. Like.... Really against me. Unless I want to do something that makes my voice sound like it's coming through a phone, then I fiddle around with settings until something works. I never have an actual process of attack, I just apply stuff until something works. This probably explains more about the way I handle life in general than I wanted it to, I think. O.o

MC_Huggies: Okay, your resume doesn't work, but your sampler does, so I had a listen to that! First of all.... I think you REALLY need to lay off whatever filters you're using to clean up your samples. Your voices sound like they were recorded through a plaster wall: They're audible, but, well.... They sound like they've been record through a plaster wall. Anyway, beyond that, the samples are clean and you've got a good variety of voices (some more believable than others).... I really can't see any reason why not to add you to the club roster beyond the fact that I'd like to have one or two more affirming reviews from other people. As in, reviews of his voice clip which was available on page 106 from people other than me. Hint, hint. Oh, and if you need help with voiceover stuff.... Well, I was about to say "Look me up", but that'd be unfair so I'll just say.... Post the characters here or something and let the feeding frenzy for roles commence! Or you could look me up. Yanno. If you wanted to. Just saying. I was in a couple of movies that were cool. Honest. @_@

Hobbes_The_Prince: Eh, I'm with you on this one on the whole VA ETERNAL SOUL CHALLENGE OF STREET MORTAL FIGHTING COMBATAGE, CHAMPIONS CALIBUR! That's why my rant was so meandering and non-hostile. Can't we all just.... get along? Or go with some semblance of getting along? And as for doing impressions of people.... Hoboy. Hasn't happened to me yet, and I'd be disturbed if it did, but it HAS happened to somebody else I know. You wouldn't believe how much this one guy wanted to sound like Tamtu. It's like.... just plain creepy: Here's Tamtu's original character demo clip and here's G-Force's character demo clip. I mean, it's a well done imitation of the way the clip was originally cut and timed, but good GOD. And that deal with the flash animator thing sounds good.... I'll definitely be up for that if it happens! Just contact me, if you need help with voices or with script-writing. I'll always be around.

If you're looking for voice actors, there's the Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club. There's also a roster of all its members, if you want to try handpicking your VA people. Hope this helps!

How can you DOWNLOAD something OFFLINE? The mind boggles.

Anyway, like everyone else have said, having a mic would be a good place to start. Audacity is a good second step. Joining the Newgrounds Voice Acting Club a great third step.

All right, that's two essays down! One to go! .... Eh, I'll get to it lateh. Anyway, if you haven't checked it out yet, check out Megaman Zero - The Last Catacylsm! It stars many a Newgrounds' Voice Acting Club member: KagomeHigurashi, Lucien, Foxphere, Tamtu, D-Mac_Double.... Oh, and me, too! It's quite the rocking.

Man, it sounds like people are having fun with the whole "setting up a time to chat" thing. Let me join you. I desire the company of other flesh-beings like yourselves. We can all sit around, vibrating our throat-strings and flap our mouth appendages at each other. It'll be fun! And speaking of the vibrating of throat-strings.... I have decided to step into the arena of rantage and give you..... Omahdon's rantage about stuff only not really because I get easily distracted! Have fun wit dat.

Bezo: Web drama is the bane of human progress and enlightenment. To be a magnet for it is a pain neverending. You should write a modern horror story about that. Kinda like Hellblazer, only with web drama. Or something. My mind's shot. And directing people to the NGVAC = great job. I dabble in it once in a while with my cut-n-paste jobs.... Although I occasionally skip over people who I think are a bit.... dodgy. Ahhh! Sergeant ranting! A flashback to my stint in training for Vietnam where I went crazy and shot the over-masochistic drill sergeant before putting a gun in my mouth and shooting myself dead! No wait, that was Full Metal Jacket. My mistake. I like the fact the music finally gave up somewhere in the middle and went into the Darth Vader theme before utterly spazzing out. XD

Hobbes_The_Prince: Yes, one has to be constantly positive! Especially if one has so many essays due in such a short period of time that one did absolutely no preparation for! One is occasionally foolish. And.... Funny you should ask about recent flashwork wit' me in it! There's Megaman Zero - The Last Catacylsm where I play Harpuia and although it's way backlogged in the Newgrounds calender, the author recently uploaded an updated version of Xunmato Episode 1 where I redid the voiceover for Amano Yaku. Then there's another thingie due sometime in a week, though I'm not too certain about that one.... Ah, to be paid for all this work would be a dream. @_@

The_Zodiak: All righty, updated the link name. It'll go up when I update the rest of the roster with new profiles or what have you.

Elliair: I'm always up for implying a little yuri when I post. That's what makes the world go round: yuri. Cause it's hawt. And stuph. I'd be interested in the round table thing, but setting an actual time (and dateline) would be helpful for me so I can convert that to my time.... Which will end up being 2AM in the morning or something. But I'll try to join in with that round table discussion if I can! Though by the time I post this, such chats will be over, huh? Ah well. Thanks for handling the bad people who want to join but don't have samplers. Oh, thank you! ;_; I love the fact that they all say "ok, i'll go n recud sumtin. lateh" and then NEVER come back. Makes updating the roster so much easier when there are no new profiles to add! I'm mean. And lazy. XD;;;; And.... more rantage posts = More work on the archives? EEK! Now I feel bad for doing one that lacks worth in rantage. ;_;

TVs_Slayer: Profile update noted, will go up when the rest of the roster gets all shiny and upchugged. Chug chug chug chug chug CHUG! Yeah, drunken voice acting. I've never tried it, but I fear the dangers inherent in wanting to act and throw up at the same time. And yes, more female voice actors for everyone! They shall be everywhere! They shall be our new GODS! That would be neat. And yeah, getting shafted by cancelled movies really suck at times. :-\ Do what Frogs and I (and many others here, possibly) do: Only go after projects in which the author has at least a couple of movies under their belt. Don't bother with the extremely new people, because they're most likely just starting out in flash and they need to get THAT down before they go off and try to get people to voice for them. Honestly, why bother starting a big project when you still don't know the basics? And that rant was amusing! "I SHALL INTIMIDATE NOW! *insert sounds of intimidation here*" O.o Man, you've sparked off a.... Talk-off! Thass neat.

Isca: Welcome back! Hope my greeting on AIM didn't scare you away. I can be a little too weird at times. O.o But now, less talk. more yuri. *watches you and Elliair creepily while making even creepier breathing sounds*

TESM: Hey, I wrote that script in MMZ - The Last Cataclysm! I was trying to give it a nice, over-the-top anime dialogue flavour.... Slightly overdramatic but taking itself seriously enough that it doesn't come off as silly. Do not doubt my scriptwriting skillz! I r l337orz!

LazyKenny: Gasp! Your rant is correct! SLEEP DEPRIVATION IS BUT A SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR THE ROLE! The enemy shall be thwarted by our enthusiastic awake time! ENTHUSIASTIC AWAKE TIME FOR THE NGVAC! I feel strangely patriotic now. O.o Admittedly however, due to my timezones, I get to see all the late night posts requesting VAs before anybody is awake.... But on the otherhand, that's balanced by the fact that I'm asleep during normal business hours for your guys on that side of the ocean. That's it! We should sleep in shifts! IT IS THE ONLY WAY!

The_Zodiak: I think you had a bit too much LSD in your cereal for that rant. O.o Yeeeeeeeeeeeah.... Drugs in da Captain Crunch! No drugs for you from now on, man! You're too hooked for words. O.o

Shalamaseskia: Aw, your rantage link isn't working for me. Pfoo. :-(

twilight_venom: Sounds like fun! I'll have to join the forums later, but if you need help with VAing stuff, remember that you can always hold auditions open here. Or you can scout people. In secret. Like.... stealth-like and all. O.o

Shock_Dingo: That was awesome rantage. Let newbies beware! For Shock_Dingo's rant is on the case to attack and deride your lack of microphone! And misapplication of the rules. Damn misapplication of the rules! Damn them all!
