Thank you. :) I drew it with Micron pen and colored pencil.
And I intend to.
Thanks for the replies and the compliments and critique. :)
As far as the smoke one goes, I'm glad it was enjoyed but I also recognize the... error isn't quite the right word, since it was a surprisingly conscious decision in spite of its wrongness, but we'll just call it a "fuck up" with the smoke behind the mouth. It will forever be a tragic flaw in what would otherwise be quite an all-around pleasing drawing if I say so myself.
And thanks for the comments on the "awake/enlightenment" one. I rather liked that one myself, but it didn't seem to get much recognition much to my dismay.
I'll post another here for the moment. This one is from 2006, for whatever reason that may be relevant. Thanks, all.
And one more. Don't wanna get crazy. Check out some of the others on my user page too if you'd like.
So, I think I'm using the forum appropriately with this sort of post... I've never posted anything in the forum so excuse me of I commit any faux pas.
I wanted to put up (whore out) some of my non-adult art that didn't get as much attention, especially since (naturally) some was submitted before I was scouted. So, here is some stuff of mine, please rate and comment and let me know what you think so I might improve upon my art in the future. :)
I'm a new artist to NG and still kind of getting the hang of the way things work around here, but I thought I'd try and help. Of the four drawings you have the only critiques I would give are that some areas of the drawings look a little bit rushed or poorly tended to, with the exception of the heart which seems all around relatively carefully drawn. Also, there seems to be a lot of variation in the actual things you use when drawing, like the paper/pencils/markers, etc. It helps maintain consistent quality to use the same utensils or the same types of utensils each time, such as the same type of paper, the same type of marker or pencil or whatever.
Some things that helped me improve were to spend a lot of time becoming acquainted with proportions, dimensions, and anatomy (I'm thinking of the skeleton), because that will also help with quality and a more solid, consistent image; getting to know the limits and abilities of your utensils; and actually, this neat trick I learned where if you're not sure where you can improve a drawing, you flip it around backwards and honestly whatever mistakes and inconsistencies there are will just right out at you. Works every time, especially with line art and sketches.
Hope I wasnt' too wordy, and good luck. :)
