Forum: General

I had an old friend a few years ago on MSN...we use to play games Online together but I haven't seen him in ages so I can't ask him this question.

He was trying to show me how to use Adobe Premiere a long time ago and he had this program where it took a video of his desktop and streamed it over the web for me and my friend. We met him in some weird server where he gave us the password to enter and when we did it showed us his desktop and what he was doing in real time. . . What software was that...? He said it was an Adobe product I think...I can't remember but do any of you know it?

Second question if you know the above question...will that software, whatever it happens to be, allow me to create videos of what is going on my desktop? If I wanted to create a Youtube video of me playing an emulator video game would whatever Adobe software my old friend used mentioned above let me do that, if you know what software he used?

I'm looking for software to allow me to record whatever is on my monitor and put it in video to shove on Youtube. I also think it's great to have a program where people can see what's going on your computer screen in real time. That could prove pretty useful sometime. Do you know what Adobe software he had?

I can't embed a Youtube video into my Blog. I didn't edit any of it and put it in perfectly as it copy and pasted from the Embed link code on the website...?

They do something to the embed feature? I've tried embedding different videos from different youtube pages to see if maybe Youtube just censored the video I wanted embedded but even unrelated videos can't be embedded so it may be this site? Does Embed still work?

This is the video I'm trying to embed:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/A2XPiqhN _Ns&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/A2XPiqhN_N s&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

I'm looking to create a small intro scene for a Youtube blog I'll be making. An intro I'll be using on all my videos...almost like a fancy preloader type thing here on Newgrounds but with video.

I have this idea of a really cute looking girl walking from outside the stage to the middle then sticking her hand out to the side and have a Subscribe! button floating over it. I was thinking about making it myself but I have no experience with Flash drawings or animating and knew I'd have a hard time with it. If you wanna create something that simple in a Flash format and allow me with your author rights to use it in my video series I'll be making the end of June or so...that would be awesome.

Please message me if you plan on taking on this idea as I may forget where this post is. If you do I thank you!!

You'll need a fast pc otherwise frame rates get messed up.

What's the difference between Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 & Adobe Elements? They're both for editing movies right?

I'm thinking of getting a video editing software other than the default Windows Movie Maker. I heard Final Cut Pro is the best of the best BUT it is only for Macintosh.

I have a lot of Adobe products and I'm thinking....WHAT THE HELL...let's get one of the Adobe video editing programs. The only problem is...I'm not sure which one of theirs is the best....they have so many...

I'm actually interested a lot in the Adobe ones because they may have transferability features like Photoshop does to Flash CS3 into Illustrator etc etc.

Share your thoughts with me.

Also...make sure that you pull it straight down if possible and not to the side. If you're going to do the classic door knob trick make sure you tilt your head so it gets pulled in a straight down direction and not off to the side so you have less ripping and tearing of the gums.

I just sold my motorcycle and I'm about to buy a new computer and possibly a tablet. Any of you have a Tablet that wanna share your thought of your journeys using it :P?

The Wacom tablets get awfully expensive with every few extra inch of tablet space and not sure what a good size of one would be?

Give me your thoughts and views on the whole thing!

Anyone here use Actionscript 3.0 over 2.0? I'm still kinda fiddling around with 2.0. Are there any bigger benefits to using 3.0 other than having it not be vieable by Flash players lower than 9 ? :/

Figure out what you want to create first of all. Video Game parody? A simple quiz game? A deviation that is all your own? There's a ton of things you can make so you need to be specific. After that you can jot down ideas on a notepad file and don't stop writing even if the idea sucks. If you decide not to write something down that you only KINDA want to write down it has a tendancy to stifle creativity..so always keep those fingers typing. Plan what you want to happen in each scene too. Good stories that have a clear start middle and ending arent too common on Newgrounds. Usually they just start them off somewhere in the middle or straight to the fight scene. "Mario VS Bowser" No story at all. Just fighting lulz. I'd make something with a bit more story in it with a clear starting point and build up. Anyway, good luck.

Omg...I use to LOVE wallball. I was NEVER really that blessed with being good at anything physical so I'd always drop the ball and get my ass beat in. All in good fun though...never got any HEADSHOTS with people but if you trip...you are kinda FUCKED ....LOL.

Worst pain I ever had was falling out of a moving car in the freeway when I was younger (and much more stupid)...I remember waking up from unconsciousness with a Police Officer checking my eyes with a flash light.

Yep yep yep.

Yeah...I've been researching what brand is good and the three names I've heard pop up have been... Sony Vegas > Pinnacle > Adobe Premiere.

I was kind of hoping Adobe would be the best but I'm not too sure. I'm kind of an Adobe whore after I started playing around with the Flash 8 I got a long time ago (submitted a few movies here but all got blammed :) .

I'm still kinda clingy to Adobe but I may be going with Sony Vegas since that name just hasn't stopped popping up...

I'm thinking of going into recording videos and submitting them on youtube HARDCORE. I've been dying to make some fun videos to throw on Youtube and I can see myself doing that for a long time even if my views are total shit. Lotta fun to be had.

I'm looking into getting a Video Editing software that KICKS ASS. This is a question to you guys out there that make videos for fun or whatever...what kind of software totally kicks ass in the market right now? A lot of people use the free windows media player but I've got money to burn and I'm willing to pump out some cash for something really good... Any of you know what is considered the best software out there in the market right now? I also need to buy the best video camera I can find but my friend is gonna go with me to buy this really good one he knows since he's a photographer and knows about that...question for this thread is though....what's the best software commercially available right now for editing videos?

It would really help, and the other tutorial i took on youtube was all backwards!

Make a new Layer for the V-Cam...probably a new layer at the very top. Paste your V-Cam in that layer. Tween it around your stage on what you want to be shown. You can make the V-Cam bigger or smaller using the Properties bar by specifying how much Width and height to give it while clicking the V-Cam and this makes your screen when you convert it to a .swf (hit ctrl+enter for preview) appear that it's zooming in , if you make the V-Cam smaller in the properties bar....or make it appear like it's farther away if you make the V-Cam large.

How do you get Flash to tell you exactly what frame you're on. I'm looking up at the timeline and it looks kinda fishy as it tells me what frame I'm on as the numbers are getting pretty big and it's starting to feel jumbled. I need a numerical value that's un ambigious to the newbie Flash user...is there a window that tells you without a doubt what frame you've selected as I need to be utterly precise atm.

I remember almost a year ago maybe...there was this guy sending Spam flashes to the portal every day of this guy. The Flashes name is at the tip of my tongue and I just can't remember it.

It was this really geeky looking guys real life picture of his head cut and pasted in a space suit and he was floating in outter space doing nothing since it was a spam flash. The drawings looked pretty real but he just floated there. really geeky looking guy. You guys know the name of that spam flash series? I watched it again by total freak show about two weeks back and sent the author a message. I wanna re-watch it but can't remember the name.

Then again half of you probably already drink and do some sort of illegal substances? So? Porn ain't so bad. A loooooooooooot of women watch porn too....that took me by surprise. If tons of women watch porn...there really is no reason for you to feel bad about it.
