Topic: Tiny problem animating

Posted: 07/24/08 05:14 PM

Forum: Flash

I'm animating my first sprite movie & this animating stuff is throughing me through a loop. It's kinda confusing to me and I really need to think hard about how things are suppose to play & work out in animation due to being new.

Is there anyway I can group two movie clips together so wherever one goes the other follows? I'm at my first scene where my main character is walking. After he reaches the middle of the screen I keep him walking in place as I tween the scenary downward and gives a nice illusion of him walking. No problem there. Simple animator newbie technique...although I have an object embedded into a stone that I want to move a few frames down the line but I want it to move with the scenary being tweened down. Do I have to tween the object with the scenary or is there a way to group them together? I'm gonna have the main character pick up the object and have it turn into something else so I don't want it to be permanently embedded into the bitmap image scenary pic. Not sure if that made sense guys...if you know how I can kinda group them together...almost like the Parent command in After Effect would be great assistance to meh :)

Is there any real benefit to using Symbols in Flashes? I noticed you get everything in a Movie Clip that you do in a Symbol and more. I think you get blend modes, filters etc in Movie clips...is there a reason to use regular symbols?

Does anyone know how to create your Flash file into a single animated gif file? I have basic keyframe after keyframe style animation and wanna turn it into a single .gif file. Anyone know how to do that?

Anytime I try exporting as a gif...it shoves all my keyframes as single .gif files and it's not exactly animated.

Anyone know if Adobe specifically has any screen capturing / recording software they sell? Or any thing that is capable of that by Adobe?

Second question...if they don't...what's considered to be the best one on the market right now?

I installed the plugin but I can't see it through the codecs menu in Adobe Premiere CS3...not sure if the below picture will show the text clearly...

Any of you know a great codec for reducing file size of a video while keeping a pretty good image quality?

I want to upload this video to youtube with an extra minute attached to it which should probably add an extra 100 megs to a file size that is already .98 Gigs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsaZ-4mJ5 YE

I used an H.264 codec for it and saved as a Quicktime format as I was recommended it but it doesn't compress good enough.

Any video editors know what a good codec would be to compress better while still keeping image quality at least 8 out of 10 of what it is now?

LOLWUT

FL Studio, Reason = DAWs

Adobe Products (Audition atleast) = SEs

You're comparing apples and oranges.

What's DAW and SE?
I'm trying to figure out what the difference between them are. I want to get a program but Adobe is very vague about what they do...."Cutting edge audio program of extreme excellence...blah blah blah Adobe...Thanks... =/ "

The Resident Evil video I'm making is 50 minutes long but I'm gonna multiply the speed by 2 so it will take up about 3 videos or so. I've already done a video like this and here's a clue on the music choice I used the first two videos.

I'm going to take a look at all your suggestions! Thanks for the tips guys!

Forum: Audio

I'm looking to make a Youtube video with Fast paced action music in the foreground playing while the video is playing. It's a video of me playing Resident Evil Outbreak doing the entire scenario on Danger. I'm multiplying the frame rate twice as much so it compensates of the slow moving danger status character hobbling and limping from place to place. Putting it in double the speed will give it a much more dramatic vibe that I want some fast paced action music without lyrics.

I know most Audio artists specialize in techno but if possible I'd like to not have anything that sounds too techno-ish. If you're gonna suggest me one of your own songs please have it be relevant and not just throwing every song you have at me and the kitchen sink ^^;

If you know any awesome fast paced action instrumentals I'd love to check it out for my video!

His name is Noah. I first saw him on some VH1 End of the Year program show where he was featured there as a co-host or something. He got his 15 minutes of fame but I like him. I'd LOVE to see his photos when he turns like 60 years old. That will be insanely interesting. There wasn't much of a change in his 6 years though. When he first started out he looked only slightly younger than when he made the video. I think when he makes the video when he turns like 50 or 60 it will be mad crazy.

I made a tiny Flash with Mario jumping across a hole and hitting a [?] box thingy with the words SUBSCRIBE constantly fading in and out as he hits it. But when I play it....it runs really choppy. When I made the flash it was very smooth in .swf format when i made it into a .mov it turned to shit.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=asTbcNgioEI

That's the video that I made although it was suppose to run smoothly and I had animated him jumping many many times along with a bunch of other tiny animations. Check it out and why does it do that every single time I export to .mov

How come when I export my Flash file when I'm done into a Quicktime .mov for Youtube that it looks super "laggy" and it's extremely stilted. You'll hear the sounds play perfectly but the animation is massively massively massively choppy and won't play some parts in the .mov format. You know why?

Ok...let's just throw away the streaming video of the desktop thing...I doubt many people use things like that to know.

Although, do you know if Adobe has any products that allows you to record things that your monitor displays? I like to use Adobe products due to the enhanced workflow you can have going with multiple Adobe products running simultaneously. They all work great with each other, ya know? Do you know an Adobe prodcut that does that...? They have way too many products to know what all of them do :/

I had an old friend a few years ago on MSN...we use to play games Online together but I haven't seen him in ages so I can't ask him this question.

He was trying to show me how to use Adobe Premiere a long time ago and he had this program where it took a video of his desktop and streamed it over the web for me and my friend. We met him in some weird server where he gave us the password to enter and when we did it showed us his desktop and what he was doing in real time. . . What software was that...? He said it was an Adobe product I think...I can't remember but do any of you know it?

Second question if you know the above question...will that software, whatever it happens to be, allow me to create videos of what is going on my desktop? If I wanted to create a Youtube video of me playing an emulator video game would whatever Adobe software my old friend used mentioned above let me do that, if you know what software he used?

I'm looking for software to allow me to record whatever is on my monitor and put it in video to shove on Youtube. I also think it's great to have a program where people can see what's going on your computer screen in real time. That could prove pretty useful sometime. Do you know what Adobe software he had?

I can't embed a Youtube video into my Blog. I didn't edit any of it and put it in perfectly as it copy and pasted from the Embed link code on the website...?

They do something to the embed feature? I've tried embedding different videos from different youtube pages to see if maybe Youtube just censored the video I wanted embedded but even unrelated videos can't be embedded so it may be this site? Does Embed still work?

This is the video I'm trying to embed:

Posted: 06/01/08 12:55 PM

Forum: Flash

I'm looking to create a small intro scene for a Youtube blog I'll be making. An intro I'll be using on all my videos...almost like a fancy preloader type thing here on Newgrounds but with video.

I have this idea of a really cute looking girl walking from outside the stage to the middle then sticking her hand out to the side and have a Subscribe! button floating over it. I was thinking about making it myself but I have no experience with Flash drawings or animating and knew I'd have a hard time with it. If you wanna create something that simple in a Flash format and allow me with your author rights to use it in my video series I'll be making the end of June or so...that would be awesome.

Please message me if you plan on taking on this idea as I may forget where this post is. If you do I thank you!!
