That seems like a good rule. Prevents people trying any bullshit.

I think rule 10 needs some sub-rules to make it clearer. I mean, for example, are you allowed to cut the beat to make a punchline have more emphasis? Things of that nature should be cleared up to avoid confusion.

What did everyone think about the no shit talking rule? In a battle should MC1 get to speak whatever over the intro, and MC2 speak whatever over the outro? What if the rule were just "no rhyming."

I kinda liked that rule. If a beat had a long-ass intro one guy can just go crazy, even with no rhyming. Something like "Yo, whaddup it's [x rapper], clabtrap 2013, fuck [y rapper]" is fine, but you should keep some limits in my opinion.

Also, to Genclops, I am certain that there is someone around here whose style will fit yours.

I mean, it's spread over 3 facebook pages, youtube and newgrounds, and it's hard to know what the hell is going on because of that. Also, our votes don't really count, and the only ones that do are from Mark's "secret panel of judges". That definitely adds to the shadiness factor, even though I think the right person has won in most of the battles so far.

Well, the popular vote counts for 1/4 of the overall outcome. And if you ask Mark about the bullshit he's been through with these judges it will all become clear. He's using Nimbus and DubDeezle (and some other person) at the moment, who are pretty rounded, so hopefully in future it will be better judged. Yes those first rounds were a shambles, but you gotta give it some teething time.

Clabtrap is such a stupid name, lol.

Dude, just do it anyway.

The rules would need to be laid out pretty thoroughly. Like, would the video be you rapping or can you make like, a full music video?
Or would you just get free reign?
Either way, get it going.

Song I made about 5 months ago. I'm in desperate need of a cheap quality mic, but until then I've got alot of lyrics just sitting out and I'm always writing.
(Btw my actual Alias is Psych-Terror:Psychedelic Terrorist, I don't go by AcidicA anymore)

To be fair the quality on that thing sounds okay. How'd you record that?
Good track as far as everything goes, but if you want some constructive criticism, maybe work on breathing and delivering a little more uniquely?

Also as far as mic's go there has been some discussion in this thread somewhere, but who can be assed to trawl through all those pages??
I use the Samson C01U. Got it fairly inexpensively and it does the job well now that I've learned how to mix better. (I'm still using a pair of my girlfriend's old tights as a pop shield though...)

Anyone else have some good suggestions?

First off, clearly bullshit that BCT lost, but don't discontinue support! We've still got some NG contenders!
Secondly, it's not fixed. Mark was getting different judges per round, and a lot of people were begging him to let them judge, so he agreed. Then they let Eye-Cue win because "BCT didn't try". The judges are retarded, no doubt. He's hoping to get some more reliable ones for next year and the remainder of the competition.
Keep supporting, man!

Does anybody else actually do that?

Hmm, I guess not really. Sometimes I'll do a partial draft, as in, I'll write some bars with knowledge that I'll change them later on. Other times I change shit around when I get to recording if something doesn't quite work.

Also, there's the whole issue of 'writing on the go'. You're on the bus or something, listening to some tunes and you get a cool idea so you scribble it down/make a note on your phone/whatever the fuck you do, but you know it's not necessarily gonna fit with the beat you eventually choose and will need some revision, so I think that would count as drafting, right?

On another note, Wyze, I'm going to start live battling soon-ish, hopefully. Do you have any sage advice?
