Any chance you'll come to Denver Comic Con?

Response to: Swivel - SWF to Video - Released! Posted January 27th, 2013 in NG News

As a quick pro-tip:
Some SWFs have entire scenes embedded within a single frame movie clip. Normal conversion will not work for these structures -- use the manual recording feature instead for these.

I would put in all I could if I wasn't in such a bad spot right now. Maybe if you try again later this year or next year I'll be able to put in a good amount.

Yeah, long story. Basically it "split" because they wanted to continue it after I moved it to NewGrounds, so now there's 2 of them. I'm trying to negotiate a name change to avoid confusion, but they are not replying :P

so the rules changed in the middle of the competition...

Post #1 of this topic:

No submissions will be accepted after the deadline without severe penalty.

Rules never changed. I decided to be less severe on penalties but nothing changed. Please read the posts and don't criticize when I decide to be nice.

Are you referring to this post?
It says that at the time it was posted, only a few people had entered, far less than 16 even. So basically anyone who entered at the time would have a really good chance on getting in considering nobody else had entered.
21 People entered in all, and so only 5 people will be lost in this round.

Response to: Open Round! - (tofa 2011) Posted May 15th, 2011 in Animation

Inviting veterans would be a great idea, but one day is not enough to let them respond.
Tom and I have been coming up with some interesting ideas to encourage tournament participation next year, it should be exciting :)

We are only waiting on one more judge to submit! After that, I will announce the winners in this thread, as well as the first post of the Round 1 thread on Monday.

The calendar will also be altered to give more time in the remaining rounds, and to compensate for removing a round.

Ah yes, there is no way to change the actual onion skin color. I prefer to use the Onion Skin Outline, which is the button right next to onion skin. This will show an outline of your shape in the color you chose before.

What version of flash are you using? In every version I've had, it comes up with this box when you double click the green box.

Select the green box within this new window to change the color.

Response to: whaaa Posted April 27th, 2011 in Animation

Double click on the color box next to the layer on your timeline. It will bring up a new window where near the bottom you can select the color of your onion skins.

List of Current Prizes:
- $1,710
- Adobe Premiere CS5
- Adobe After Effects CS5
- Nomination for the Tank Awards

I was tossing around the idea of making TOFA T-Shirts and shipping them to the 32 people who make it in. Thoughts? T-Shirt design suggestions? (Some samples here.

Also in the event that Eddsworld cannot judge (which isn't looking likely), I will step in to judge.

So it's set, the judges shall decide the top 32 by selecting their favorite (TBA # of) entries.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

Response to: Professional says... Posted April 5th, 2011 in Animation

I think it depends on the person, the song, and the animation too. For instance, if it is a music video or fast-paced animation, rhythmic music can help a person stay on track and have a consistent rhythm in their animation. If the music has lyrics though, it can be distracting.
But yeah, different for every situation.
