Soul Quest: Chapter 1
The Interview
It was a cloudy day in Galia, a well known reign of Briney. The people in the villages that were in Galia were known by their enthusiastic work on everything, from blacksmith to dress makers. You could find everything in there. There, of course, was a castle, in the far north of the reign. That fortress was something to be amused of. It had its own story, but that’s not what we’re talking about, our story has to do with a youngster in his late teen, his name was Blade. It all starts the morning Blade was going to an interview in the castle for been admitted in the reign’s Warrior Force.
<‘JAJAJAJAJAJA’ a blinding purple flash.>
“Damn” Blade said as he woke up with a start “I had already had that nightmare over 9 times, that girl been killed by that weird guy.”
“Blade are you awake?” his mom shouted from the kitchen.
“Yep!” he stood up trying to come on all his 5 senses.
“Then hurry up! You’re going to be late!” she answered.
“Late for what, mum?” he asked
“Don’t be silly today is your interview up at the castle!”
“Oh shit!” Blade said half through his food.
“Fye muf!” he shouted as he hurried to the entrance door.
“Take care and good luck!” she shouted to him “I’m going to Buldapolis for a trade I’ve managed!” but Blade couldn’t hear her because he was already to far from her.
“11:00 your majesty should I let the solicitors enter?” said a soldier
“Yes make them enter.” The king answered.
The next moment about a dozen men entered the chamber. It was a thing you should see. There was a red rug in front of the king’s throne. Next to him, sat the Queen and next to her was an empty chair decorated with the most beautiful ornaments of gold and silver, apparently, where the King’s daughter, was to sit.
“Nine, ten, eleven...”she counted pointing at all the men “You said that there were twelve, didn’t you?” she said turning to the soldier.
“Yes your majesty. One hasn’t arrived.”
“He is late again dear, what are you going to do, we can’t afford that time on him just because he is your dead friend’s son, do we?” the queen said exasperatedly to his husband.
At that moment the oak doors opened slowly and Blade came in, hurrying to the row, where he was supposed to be.
“Late again, Blade. How could you think...” but her words were cutted by the king.
“There is no problem. We haven’t started yet, but you do have in mind that to be at time is an important part of a warrior, do you?” he said to Blade.
“Yes sir.”
“Well then let the tasks begin.” He said turning to the soldier next to him.
“This way” the soldier commanded the men through a door that leads to a garden big enough for 7 houses to fit.
“First,” the soldier said to the men as they stopped, “you’re going to test your physical condition with that obstacle course.” He added pointing to a course filled from mud ponds to walls with grease you had to climb.
“On my whistle, Johan!” he sounded the whistle and a man with brown hair wearing a red tunic dashed forwards the obstacles.
“Michael!” he sounded the whistle again as Johan gained distance.
“Draven!” he continued “Merik!” “Tamel!” “Richard!” “Bob!” “Blade!”
