Here's Terry Bogard (sorry for screwing up the last post) from Fatal Fury. I chose the black outfit because it made him look a little less 80s

Name of a certain flash Posted November 29th, 2005 in General

Does anyone know the name of a certain flash? It's about a weird guy who wakes up in some type of holding cell and is attached to a wire. He breaks out of the cell and finds himself surrouned by identical cells (kind of like the way humans are grown by the machines in the matrix.) Its all done in a type of 3d that isn't swift or anything, but clever masking. I think it's set to a NIN song, If anyone knows the name of this, it would help a lot. I can't find it in any of the collection you would expect to find it (noir, serious, musicvideo),

how it will end Posted May 10th, 2005 in General

Can anyone help me with the name of a flash cartoon? I thought it was called "how it will end" but the search for this has proven fruitless. Its basically just a compilation of random segments such as backwards racing, aluminum cans infecting the city's water, a zombie dad, then at the end, whales start walking on land. It was really funny, but I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help me?

Response to: something fishy about "kitten canno Posted April 10th, 2005 in General

i mean maybe its nothing and its just random, but its a valid observation of roman character gibberish and japanese character jibberish

Response to: something fishy about "kitten canno Posted April 10th, 2005 in General

i do. The full filename of that is Angry pope

Response to: something fishy about "kitten canno Posted April 10th, 2005 in General

sure, heres a comparison between it and another game. The fact that its a game engine has NOTHING to do with it.
the comparison is right here .

I understand all of that, trust me I know how this shit works. I simply notice how the gibberish in kitten cannon, at least on my computer, was CLEARLY japanese characters. It differed from every other swf I looked at in comparison.

Response to: something fishy about "kitten canno Posted April 10th, 2005 in General

if you open an swf with notpad, it will be gibberish. if you remember the Apple IIe that your schools might have had if your old enough to remember, if you yanked a disk out of it while it was reading from it, you would get these gibberish cobalt characters. This is simmilar to the shit you get from an swf with notpad. Im just saying that maybe the swf ahs a japanese origin and really is ripped off. PLus i think its kinda interesting if an american version of flash in english is encoding in japanese.

something fishy about "kitten canno Posted April 10th, 2005 in General

Im sure everyone has seen kitten cannon on the front page. its a good game. People have also likened it to a japanese game and thougth that he ripped it off. I came across something fishy. I opened up the .swf file that I got from newgrounds with notepad and got the typical gibberish that you get from opening random crap with notepad. However, the gibberish was in all japanese characters. This isn't true of most flash works, usually theyre in english characters with english gibberish ascii characters thrown in. Does anyone else find this a bit fishy?

As for evaluating a surgeon-- yes, you are 100% qualified to evaluate a surgeon. Why do you think this is a capitalistic society? You can choose your own doctor due to whether or not you think he or she is a good doctor. Plus, why do you think malpractice is so high in this country? It's because people think their doctor didn't do a good job and they sue. As long as you have watched something and know a little about it, you have a right to evaluate it. The ones who know all the nuances probably will give a clearer view on it, but that doesn't mean that the others are all idiots.

Im not saying they dont have the right to evaluate it, but is it a bad thing if people know that they really dont have any qualifications. Also, if you watch someone perform surgery with no basis, you have no way to tell if it went well except for the result. With flash, shitty movies surive blam, so the result can't be that great of an indicator.

You go to the movies and watch a movie. You have the right to like it or not. You may say "That effect was fake!" Have you make a multi-million dollar movie? No. You don't know how hard it was to make. Same with the movies on the portal. You make them for people to be judged by people.

Yeah, but I dont say "Oh my god that sucked, they should never make anythig". From a moviegoers standpoint, it may suck, but with flash, even if you dont like the content, dont just trash it as if you could do a better job. Plus, I pay to see movies, so I can be pissed about wasting money. NG movies are free. EO's rant summarizes nicely the way i feel

I would also like to point out:When I say flag, i mean like a small not next to the review that has the number of submissions of the reviewer next to it so it can be identified.

Response to: New review system? Posted May 5th, 2004 in General

How does all that make you qualified to judge flash? Ive seen surgery performed multiple times. Am i qualified to evaluate a surgeon? Il admit that many reviewers who have submitted nothing arent harsh assholes about it, but if they want to get around it, all they have to do is download the trial version and make something that doesnt suck to get full benefits.

They created a flash series on Newgrounds specially for people like you. Do a quick search for "You Are A Fucking Moron".

howabout you explain why you think im a moron. This is a perfectly logical idea and would reward submitters. Do you think people with no flash expirience know how much work went into something? Probably not. I have yet to check, but you might just be bitter about this because you have submitted nothing, so ill check right now

New review system? Posted May 5th, 2004 in General

I'm really sick of people who trach entries and have done no work themselves. Ive been kicking a few ideas around such as only letting people who have contributed flash to the portal write reviews, but that wouldn't work and would push people away. However, if you have no submissions, a note should be made automaticaly in the review to flag it. Also, a text box with greater limitation could be used. I know that implementing this would be near-impossible, but does anybody else think its a good idea to restrict those who have contributed nothing?

Awesome popup killer Posted November 18th, 2003 in General

Stop the pop
This is so good. It gets all popups, and if u set it to aggressive mode, it even stops popups from kazaa. Alsong with this, it blocks unsigned activex controls and completely blocks known adware/spyware like gator, cometcursor, etc. It has pause hotkeys, and is completely unintrusive. The only thing is that on aggressive mode, u need to pause it by holding ctrl to open ur browser, and sometimes it takes redirects as a popup and closes it. But u dont need aggressive mode. I HIGLY RECCOMEND THIS POPUPKILLER!
