Pacino's characters gets a call saying he has 88 minutes to live, so we spend the rest of the film, an hour and 28 minutes, seeing him figure out who's trying to kill him. It's apparently an average thriller at best (Critics and internet posters seem to think so), which may explain why they made the film and then shelved it for two years...

Would you buy a movie just because a famous actor stars in it? That's what Sony's hoping for! According to their press release:

" 86% of target buyers are interested to buy '88 Minutes' because it stars Al Pacino** "

They also seem to think people will buy DVDs if the cover art looks like it's from the Bourne series. What is this, The Bourne Pacino?

Ridley Scott is to direct a film adaption of Monopoly. Seriously, what the hell would the plot be about?? It's called Flash Player 9? I would have thought that 'Adobe Flash Player 0.x (Beta)', or something like that might have been a better (although more stupider) name, since Adobe aquired Macromedia and such. meh. I won't be downloading it anyways. I don't trust betas...
