i happen to agree with you. I wrote a topic the other day on the concept of getting rid of the journalists in the warzones, and inviting them to attend a one day briefing session held by the US government's military representatives.

actually, the UN does have some military strength, that's why it's different than the League, along with the security council veto rule. And it's evident that the UN is effective in creating a basic worldwide opinion, it's just the US doesn't care, and that the UN will ride things out in the meantime.

Response to: Are abortions murder Posted April 1st, 2003 in Politics

At 4/1/03 06:15 PM, WheresTheTartarSauce wrote: from first union of gametes, human life is genetically already started. no matter how you slice it, the life has started, however, it is not yet human. just like with pigs or cows, the union of two gametes does not make the embryo human. thus, human life is not being killed

there are organelles called chromosomes that distinguish whether a fused group of gametes will be a certain creature. Unless there's some way 46 chromosomes can become a pig or a cow, that seems to be impossible.

Abortion should be used if the mother's life is in jeopardy for it is better to protect the living than the unborn. Otherwise, abortion should be avoided as much as possible being that it's technically two counts of suicide.

the 24 hour coverage should ease its way down, and the US military should remove reporters from the battlezones. They'd all be entitled to a single government briefing every day that would last a reasonable amount of time and cover the reporters' questions.

Response to: Electronic Democracy Posted April 1st, 2003 in Politics

it's nice in theory but it won't be used in the optimistic and reasonable way you envision it...it'll be like. "Who thinks NemesisZ should die?" and then it becomes a waste of energy and media

Response to: Official BBS Rules Posted April 1st, 2003 in Politics

b) No hateful or racist remarks. You may have noticed that the "n-word" is not allowed on the BBS. There is a reason for this. Using trickery or any other shenanigans to get around this is bannable. Over-use of the word gay or any other homosexual put down is also prohibited.

that rule is gay...;)

One Briefing a Day Posted April 1st, 2003 in Politics

ok, enough with the media storm trying to gobble up ratings. I'm tired of it. I understand that we are in the information revolution, however, it's demoralizing America...period. here's how it affects you:

if you're pro-war...seeing the careless errors made by the military every single day(every other hour) you'll probably be distraught with Bush's generals' decisions.

if you're anti-war...this just puts more fuel on the fire for your arguments which leave you feeling even more upset about the situation in your country.

if you don't have a side or don't give a crap...you're not getting the objective stance you're looking for, coverage is biased toward sides based on each reporter

any comments or concerns?

Response to: So, who are we demonising this week Posted April 1st, 2003 in Politics

ironically the media will take a hit soon...did you see Geraldo give out the plans for part of the 101st Cavalry which they had to censor out. Loose lips sink ships!

I'm all for one briefing a day...i shall make a post for this

ok i'm getting a little bit bored of these, "I hate Bush because..." posts...

-if you're not from America, thank you for pointing out its citizens stupidity...back off!

-if you're american and underage to vote, deal with it and whine to your parents...hopefully that makes two votes for you

-if you're american and can vote...vote in two years and hope you get the results you want.

welcome to america where unlike countries with dictatorships in the middle-east, change is possible.

Technically, Christianity is a sect of Judaism. You might as well say that Jews are Christians that refused to make the transition.

which brings me to an interesting argument, why don't Christians keep kosher and celebrate the Jewish holidays as well as their own unique ones if they are a branch of Judaism? I mean i do see a serious amount of overlap and repetition but i never knew why. I'm just curious, not at all cynical or prejudice or what not.
