Response to: A dark new age? Posted January 7th, 2003 in Politics

you wanna know why the system isn't like how you want it to be? How do you measure intelligence? There could be a whole topic on this alone. Another issue is that you will find people galaxies more intelligent than you that won't share the same values. It will piss you off, it will drive you mad that they have more power than you. I'm sure you'd feel real good about having a ranking system when the smartest are still the first to get their heads chopped off by an unruly mob. Do you want that risk? Or would you be the ones on the low end of the food chain holding the intelligent heads up high?

Response to: Native self goverment Posted January 7th, 2003 in Politics

don't get me started with the Holocaust that destroyed 1/3 of my fellow people and countless others. What many fail to realize is that even though these Native nations within our nation are separate, they are still protected by the US government. It's a pretty sweet deal considering the genocide americans committed in the past. I'll never understand how people think two wrongs make a right. I find retribution for the slaves a pointless act based on getting back at whitey. How easily they forget that their brethren sold them off to the European Colonists way before America got its independence. How about they put their complaints with the countries of Nigeria, and all those other western African countries? Have you heard any African American admit that one to you? I have nothing wrong with African Americans. They are a staple of our culture today and their impact on society is twice as eventful as it was when they were enslaved. The sliver of this race that wants retributions embarrass themselves with the greed that only 1/6 of our population even had ancestors that held slaves.

Money is often an indication of ones value to society, for every dollar one contributes to the government fund( for defense, police, justice), you get one vote.

Your point is interesting, as for my meaning of taxes, it's more Lockean than anything else, demonstrating the people's investment in the government as the government's investment in its citizens. Your idea isn't much of a democracy, but there's no reason to badmouth it in theory. I wish there was an example of how this system However, there's nothing like the power of poor people to shut a government down. Heads rolled.

all your one ups are meaningless unless you take some form of action to help defend your causes. This is all good and fun and many members of these forums have had valid points and should get these magical brownie points, but let's get serious, these posts aren't watched by government officials(except GWB maybe ;-) i bet he's a eminem hater)and maybe if you made petitions or went on radio stations, you could make a difference in this world. There is a great deal of potential in this forum, how much will be fulfilled?

Ladies, ladies, don't get your panties in a twist about something so incredibly ridiculous! Somehow i skimmed through the posts and it's one angry thing after another. It's very intriguing to learn what a sensitive topic this is. Consider the following, what if you mom really was a man? I mean how do you know, unless you're a freak of nature that looks up your mom's dress or something. Does it make a difference, i need SOLID evidence that adopted children of gays are dangerous to the community, and can apply themselves to our way of life. The problem seems to be more of tolerance than anything else. Please enlighten me.

I apologize for the delay. The sweatshop companies pay their employees 30 cents an hour and that's why they make their factories in other countries. Had they made them in america and pay workers fairly unemployment would decrease in this country

in case you haven't noticed, Walmart is God in the middle of america, why are you complaining about a quality company that merges every possible thing you can buy into one store, it's convenient as hell. It's not like it's running out of business like K-Mart; they're doing something right. And as of your sweatshop remarks, people don't give a flying fuck about that. I'm upset for them because they are hurting our economy, but it's not walmart's problem, they buy the shit and sell it higher. They give plenty of people jobs, so don't give such a bad rap to one of the most successful companies in American history.

lol i plugged deism, but i'm never converted anyone, that's why i chose not to explain deism completely, it was yoish's decision to reward his curiosity. I'm no high priest of deism nor do they exist.

remember that South Park episode when Cartman discovered that he could eat food through his ass and poop out his mouth? well there was another lesson to it symbolically representing taking the Bible out of hand.
