Sounds like gfox. :P He's meant to be doing LUL catch-ups....Soon.

I suppose I was overdue for an LUL catch-up... but honestly I'd rather just jump back into it after the sheer amount of pages I've missed. The catch-up would have to be far too epic, and I just can't bring myself to do it with all the work that I've had recently ;P

On the bright side, I THINK I'm done with coursework for this term. I've just given in my third piece (in less than a month ;_; ), so AFAIK I'm just waiting for christmas now.

There's been quite a lot of uni work to be getting on with lately, and I'm at my girlfriend's place a lot of the time too and usually forget to check teh NG's when I'm there.
Newgrounds, this is what happens to NGers when they spend too much time in the outside world.

It's pretty disgusting, eh?

there's another meetup for you to miss

lol, I don't normally do too well with making it to meetups, true. Honestly no idea what's going on on the 28th (of November, right?) yet. Is it in London? If it is, and nothing else is going on that day I might be able to make it.

You can still do well for yourself without a degree. It's more difficult, but it can be done.

I didn't care about university really until I had a gap year and discovered first-hand what working life would be like without higher education. It's not really all that nice to be honest; to me it seemed more reasonable to spend a few more years going to uni and getting a decent education, and after that a good job.

It's all personal choice though. In the end deciding going to uni was the best choice I've made in my life so far, I reckon.

It never ceases to amaze me how much of this thread I've missed out on whenever I actually have the time to check it / post in it. HUNDREDS upon HUNDREDS of pages. My own fault for not being here as much, though.

So here's a little update / catch-up (although, probably more non-catch-up than actual catch-up) for all of you who I know and remember and cherish deep in my heart... just so you know that I'm still poking around behind the scenes, in relative silence.

At 11/15/09 10:44 AM, Bahamut wrote: New EXP update!

I've been shamefully missing deposits all over the place recently, so I'm sort of adverse to checking this update. There's been quite a lot of uni work to be getting on with lately, and I'm at my girlfriend's place a lot of the time too and usually forget to check teh NG's when I'm there.

I know, I'm appalled at myself too. I need to pull my socks up.

Blargh, last time I tried to recreate the abusive reviews topic in a blog post, the mods told me anyone who tried to recreate that topic in whatever form would get shot. Unfair >=(
What mods?

IIRC, review and BBS mods talked about it and decided it would make things easier if the original abusive review thread was locked, and not recreated on NG in the form of news posts etc., because it just caused too much non-abusive stuff to get flagged and ultimately increased work for the review mods.

I think Wade interjected that if it's on news posts, users can do pretty much what they want... but if you're trying to help out review mods it's probably not the best way to go about it. But then I'm guessing it's more for helping people upgrade their whistle level than helping mods clean the site.

Not to get into a debate about a frankly tired issue or anything, just explaining the situation as I remember it.
_____

That's pretty much all I have the urge to reply to ATM. Told you it'd be more of a non-catch-up ;P

I remember when I was at school and "that's what she said" was really popular. Then it kinda died out... and now I'm at uni and it's started again. Love the immature sense of humour, it's fucking great, lol.

Posted: 11/17/09 12:33 PM

Forum: Where is / How to?

Like Coop said, with HTML-heavy posts, the best way to preview them is simply to copy and paste the text into a new news post. I used to employ that exact same method when I used to do lists and stuff over in the C&C forums; it's really not that time-consuming.

For regular posts, just gloss over them when you're done typing and all should be well. If your spelling really isn't up to scratch or whatever and you're that bothered about it, run it through a spell checker or something. Honestly though, everybody makes mistakes in posts from time to time... it's not a big deal.

Friday the 13th isn't normally unlucky for me... in fact it's probably more lucky than most days. Haven't really done much that could involve luck today though, unless you count the fact that I managed to find a bunch of useful books for my coursework, despite it being due in less than a week.

Of course the bad luck is that I have an essay due in 6 days in the first place. Win some lose some.

I'm shit at carving pumpkins. They always try their hardest to defeat me (with their thick orange impenetrable skins), and usually succeed in doing so.

For this reason, I gave up carving pumpkins a long time ago... but I still get jealous when I see well-carved halloween pumpkins, as it is a skill I hall never excell at.

But yeah cool pumpkin.

You guys use humour?

You'd be surprised. Once you get past the whole "mods are evil because they enforce the rules that we agree to when we sign up yet still resent for whatever reason" thing, then you'll see that we do make teh funnies every now and again.

We're actually pretty awesome people.

Having a quiet night in for the first time in AGES, so I thought it would be prudent to drop by this place for a bit.

Uni isn't all that bad this term (only in lectures on tuesday and thursday), so the rest of the time is my own. You'd think I'd be more active than I am given that this is the case, but I spend a good deal of my time at my girlfriend's house at the moment, so I don't end up going on NG that much.

I've been getting online every day though this week, so that's cool, and even if I don't post on the forums I'll usually do a bit of lurking / modding. So yeah, I am around a bit more these days, for anyone who remembers me / cares. ;P

Original Sin - Overfiend (personal favourite)

Tantrum Desire - Dreamscape
