The highest scoring Newgrounds submission by far right now is a stick figure fight. Mind-boggling, no?

I feel kind of bad about taking Daily Feature from you, considering my game is pretty much just a practical joke.

Aaaaand, someone else posted before I could double-post, making it look like I was completely misunderstanding his question.

To your question: yes, I'm capable of handling NG-level traffic, unless this somehow gets into the Top 50 or something, which I cannot see happening. And as for the fact that not many people here have seen it, that's exactly why I chose it. I wanted to do a collab on the least likely concept for a collab ever.

And for insulting Dinosaurs, you are now required to write a three to five page apology to Jim Henson Studios.

Huh, I guess I'm unable to edit my posts, unless I'm missing something obvious...

In any case, to clarify on the above, the viewer will never leave Newgrounds. The other files will be embedded within the file hosted on Newgrounds, so there will be no popups, no redirection, none of that; in fact, it shouldn't be evident to someone who doesn't notice the differing FPS rates that the content is partially hosted elsewhere.

Believe it or not, the specs don't actually matter. I will simply make the containing file the frame rate and size of the biggest and fastest Flash. I will store all of the entries as separate movies hosted on my domain and loaded individually, so as to not let NG's file size limit be a bother, and you won't have to wait for the whole movie to load before watching one of them; you can watch one while waiting for the rest to download. That also allows multiple FPS rates in the same Flash.

Assuming, that is, if this actually takes off. XD

Noticing that collabs seem to always get lots of enthused responses, I decided to see if I could come up with a collab that has no chance of getting off the ground, then see if I actually can get it off the ground. I was trying to think of the most unlikely pop culture idea to use for a collab, and was recently reminded of Growing Pains after seeing some of Kirk Cameron's unintentionally humorous evangelical videos. Growing Pains was one of my favorite shows when I was ten, from what I remember, so I decided this idea was as bad as any.

So, I've decided that if I can get at least ten submissions for this collab, and at least five of them are good, I'll go ahead and submit it. If you have never seen Growing Pains and for some strange reason still want to join a collab based on what I-Mockery.com calls "one of the most typically bland suburban white family TV shows to come out of the 80s", you can see most episodes of the show here. I re-watched a few episodes of the show on AOL video, and while I certainly don't find it nearly as funny as I did when I was ten, I still get some nostalgia and a few mild laughs out of it. I wouldn't exactly recommend it to anyone who's never seen it and isn't a fan of generic sitcoms, though.

For anyone who wishes to join, here are the rules:

-Nothing above a MATURE rating. Things for ADULTS ONLY will not be allowed, as I am 17 and thus would technically be not supposed to view my own collab.

-If you have no idea how to spoof the show, feel free to throw in any other pop culture references or your own characters. Preferably in the most confusing and irrational way possible.

-Do not make something of intentionally blammable quality. If it's crappy in a hilarious way, that's fine, but it has to be "Hahahaha, this is stupid!" and not "Jeez, this is stupid. I'm going to kill myself now."

-You don't necessarily have to like the show at all. Your entry can be out of sheer hatred for the entire ABC lineup, in fact. Except Dinosaurs. That was a good show and anyone who disagrees will be disemboweled and be forced to jump rope with their own intestines.

Well, I guess that's about it. So, for those interested, go ahead and respond here. For those not interested, go ahead and respond because it'll increase the thread's post count and make it look to the uninitiated like there are people who actually are interested.

I had kind of hoped that Nicholas' Weird Adventure 2 would get Daily Feature like its prequel did, consiering 2 is much better than the first one. But the competition was much more formidable this time. I really applaud TRACER, and I rather liked Dick Knows Best. I haven't seen the rest yet.

If you are making something more teen-mature, id day go with it, if your game is innocent nice id say dont do it.

The game is child-appropriate, but its target audience is anyone with a sense of humor. Why does age matter, in your opinion?

For this I would have a link during the preloader, show their intro after the preloader is finished, and have their logo (unobtrusive, but present) during gameplay.

I was recently offered a very generous amount of money (seriously, higher than I'd ever expect) by a website who wants me to have their site's logo throughout a game of mine and have their intro after the preloader. The problem is, those ads annoy me if they're too intrusive and I don't want to compromise my artwork for money.

So, I'll ask you, Newgrounds members: do you tend to like games less when they have, say, Armor Games (or the such; they're not the ones that gave me the offer) ads throughout them? I'd love to accept the offer, and I think that it's great that they're giving artists the opportunity to make money from their hard work. I just don't want to lower the quality of the work in the process.

So, yes. What do you think?

I now have five beta testers and will send the link to the game as soon as I finish the core programming, which should be some time tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who responded.

(To be fair, it's not a true RPG, but an adventure game -- however, "Adventure Game" wouldn't fit in the topic title.)

Back in December of 2005, I released Nicholas' Weird Adventure, a quasi-popular game that has become my most popular (and most frequently stolen by other websites) Flash. I was asked by many people to make a sequel, and in January of 2006, I started that sequel.

Over a year and a half later, I am nearly finished with Nicholas' Weird Adventure 2, and hope to finish the main programming by tomorrow, then have the preloader and all the sound effects added the day after that.

However, before I submit this game to Newgrounds, I want to make sure that there aren't any major glitches that I've overlooked while programming it. That is why I'm calling out for beta testers to play the game before I release it so that they can tell me whether they find anything important that I need to fix.

So, if you're interested in being a beta tester, you're good at lateral thinking and solving puzzles, and you like adventure games, please respond to this thread or PM me. The first five or so people to contact me will receive a link to a beta version of the game in return for their help. They will also receive hints/tips if they get stuck.
