Submissions from the Dump can't be added to the collection, but all entries will be added to the Open Round page.

Then we would narrow the first round down to 16 entrants instead of 32. Matches will be groups of two (one-on-one) instead of groups of four.
I'm pretty confident we'll get at least 32, however. Most people submit during the last hours of the deadline.

Let me know if you're name's not on this list and you've already entered. I will be sure to sweep this thread a few times before judging begins.
48 Hours remain!
Since there were some issues with payments linked to NewGrounds accounts last year, prizes will be sent directly to PayPal accounts following the contest. You will be contacted by this account (NATA) asking for your paypal email if you are entitled to any prizes.
Just over 3 Days remain!
If you don't have time to finish your entry, just upload it to the Dumping Grounds and link it here!!
5 Days Remain.

One of the perks available for donating $100 to the contest was "automatic entry into the open round" (with a limit of 4) - Rezeile was the only one to claim this perk from donating.

Any way is fine, so long as it is in there somewhere, and is not super tiny.

^-- Basically this. You shouldn't use stuff you've made already, since that gives you an edge on the competition. I know it sucks, but we need a level playing field here. :)
Also, re: multiple entries: No. Only one entry is allowed per animator.
and don't try to submit multiple entries with multiple usernames. It's been done before and it's always really obvious.

No quotation marks are needed in the tag.
Also, I don't see a problem with including Pico in your entry, so long as it still fits the theme and was made with this contest in mind.

^-- This --^
Ryry67dude, the copyright rule has nothing to do with the profanity rule. The purpose of the profanity rule is to keep the contest in good taste and to expand your audience.

What does this line mean? please help
It's explaining why we have a theme, and that you have to base your entry off of it -- "A New Holiday"

Yep, we cannot publicly announce winners until the round using the tracks begins.
Well, this should be fun. I didn't expect such a great turnout!

Oh, you're right. Well, if anyone needs an extra couple hours, here's your chance!
The point of the "submitted before" date is pretty obvious to everyone, right? A submission date is the only way for me to tell if the music was made before or after the contest began.
Working around this specifically to exploit the phrasing of the rules is dirty and low, and it's the reason I've had to create such strict and specific rules during the main tournament. People don't like it, but it seems the point has been made here today.
Yes, the music does have to be created after the contest began. No, you cannot remove your audio files from NewGrounds and resubmit them for this contest. No, you cannot post audio files under a new name which were made and posted to YouTube previous to this contest. This is a matter of integrity -- if you're going to go out of your way to exploit the phrasing of contest rules is not with the spirit of this community.
deadlyfishes, do you have any entries that you DID create after this contest began?
*(Also: You said that you would put the prize money toward your own contest, but honestly how could anyone here trust you with a contest after this?)
Just over 12 hours remain!
I'll look into all of this before judging, don't worry.
At 3/27/13 10:29 AM, SkyeWintrest wrote: Is the deadline 0:00PM EST March 29 (the beginning of the day) or 11:59PM EST March 29 or what?
This is a pretty relaxed contest in terms of rules and deadlines, so we're making it 11:59PM EST March 29. I will not judge any entries received after that, however. Good luck!
At 3/26/13 12:36 PM, deadlyfishes wrote: Looks like a lot of these are longer than 2 minutes, are you still enforcing that rule?
Tracks over the limit will be considered but will take deductions for going against the rules.
