I thought this was the same competition, just with a new home.
Same name? Still called TOFA? A little bit odd...

Ps. I love the animation introducing the ABS contest. Kepple did a fantastic job on it!

It's really a long story. Short Version: I created the contest and moved it from ABS to NG, but ABS felt it deserved to keep running it. Not sure if there are any intellectual copyright claims that could be made in that kind of situation, but after some negotiations we've decided that the two contests will have different names next year to avoid confusion.

Last year TMST mentioned he would have liked to do animations like that for TOFA 09, but didn't have the time last year.

On that note, 2 Days, 40 Minutes remaining!

I wish there was an edit button on the BBS

CORRECTION:
-------------------

Due to the late penalty on TurtleCo's entry, their entry has been subtracted 15 points according to the late policy. All pages and scores have been updated. This therefore makes PinkSkull the winner of their matchup. Sorry for any confusion.

Response to: Round 1! - ( Tofa 2011 ) Posted June 13th, 2011 in Animation

The Winners are in!

And the winners of Round 1 are...

** Dave Bruno
** Fungasm
** Sandwich Eater
** TurtleCo
** SomeplaceElse
** Elfman Rox
** Lazy Mode Comics*
** Mark-er

* The match between Lazy Mode Comics and coughing dog was a tie, and the winner is then determined by the highest score in the "Artwork" category. If that is also a tie, the entrant with the highest score in the "Animation" category wins, and so on.

Thanks to all who entered! Congratulations to our winners and best of luck next year to all others.

All information, scores, and updated brackets are now on the TOFA Website and the Round 1 Page.

Reviews will be added to the Round 1 page within the hour. The Round 2 topic will be posted shortly. Extra time will be given due to the round starting late.

Results will be posted very soon. I had to rework all the numbers to compensate for the lack of one judge, and so things are running just a tad bit behind. I will have everything up ASAP.

I think the guy getting his brain shot out might of broke the "no mature content" rule.

If there were any disqualifications I would have let the entrant know. There were none this round. Late submissions were accepted as much as 30 minutes late in the open round since this is the first year and people are still getting used to the contest, I cut some slack. (Though 30 minutes can't make too much of a difference in your animation, it allowed for people to finish publishing and uploading.)

The judges were asked to rank their top 10 entries in order of best to worst. #1 on each list received 10 points, #2 received 9 points, and so on. I turns out only 15 animators were listed from all the combined lists. Eddsworld is not judging any longer and Salty Peach came down will an illness and was unable to judge except to nominate the final entrant. Below are the scores from the 3 remaining judges (including one point for the 16th addition).
Dave Bruno: 30
Mark-er: 18
Fungasm: 17
coughing-dog: 17
jagondudo: 14
MC-Booga: 12
Zeedox: 11
LazyModeComics: 10
sandwich-eater: 9
Elman-Rox: 9
TheNooch: 8
Glarryg: 6
TurtleCo: 3
PinkSkull: 1
zRtC: 1
someplaceelese: 1

The Open Round is meant to filter out who will participate in the actual Tournament. In the following rounds, much more critique and in-depth scores will be given to the entrants.

I don't wanna get disqualified for something dumb and small like that.

One swear in text is okay and will not disqualify you

The deadline is in US Eastern Time. 23 hours, 20 minutes remaining!

If we get less than 32 entries I will have to seriously modify the brackets and dates.

Yes, the dumping grounds are allowed as long as you post the link in this topic saying it's your entry.
An animatic is ALWAYS better than an empty space or a plot jump. You will likely get a few more points for that.
