I'm a Sound Designer working for an independent studio who require a small voice acting role. The role is unpaid but is credited. I have worked with a few guys on here before and got some great results. I am listing all the actors I have had great products from and will contact them at a later date when a bigger (paid) and suited project comes up.
The studio have requested an announcer voice in the style of HALO and Unreal Tournament. They need these lines:
rampage
unbelievable
killing spree
godlike
monster kill
retaliation
insane
Once you have recorded those lines message me and I will send my email for you to send them to me.
Please include your name (your real name for crediting), and the title of the line in the file name. Do not submit MP3 files. WAV or aiff only. Don't heavily process/edit your files as I will be doing that later. And split the files up for each line.
Best of Luck
Matt

Hi folks,
I'm a sound designer looking at modding kerbal space program with my own sounds. However I don't know where to start! Is it possible to integrate my own FMOD projects into the game? Or do I have to just replace the sounds in the assets?
Any help would be much appreciated!
thanks
I'm creating an audio mod for kerbal space program and i'm looking for voice actors to play the tiny kerbal astronauts!
I need takes of you speaking simmish style dialogue (how characters from the sim's games speak). Please include short, medium and long passages of dialogue with varying emotions (curious, angry, scared, happy, excited ect.). I need both male and female talent so everyone is welcome.
This is NOT payed but all actors will be credited. If you are interested please PM me with a link to your takes. Please make sure that all audio files are free from effects as I will be editing them later, and include in the title of the tracks the length and emotion of the take.
Looking forward to hearing your entries!
Matt.

So please post links to the song you want me to use, and I'll let you know from there. Or PM me if you like.

Has anyone got any good suggestions for any jazz based instruments for logic midi instruments? Trumpets, clarinets anything slightly woodwind would be great

NEEW VOICE ACTOR FAST!
I do sound design for a podcast (that i cannot give details of until the project is released due to release guidelines). I am creating mock up news reel and i need several actors to be, anchors, weathermen/women, sport reporters, commentators and sales men.
Preferably done in an old fashioned radio broadcaster style, check http://archive.org/details/1948RadioNews for a reference.
PM me if you are interested and want scripts. I ideally need this done over the weekend.

The game is a turn based strategy game like Civilization, except with less building cities and more monsters and fantasy battles.
I am looking for:
A theme that is strong and confidant, ideally with lots of brass, but if you can come up with something else that's cool too. This will play on the title screen and in menus.
Several background music songs or varying themes and styles. I intend to give each map its own song.
And lastly, clips for the beginning of a match, victory, loss, battles and encounters (good and bad).
Thank you all for your help and recommendations,
-Ward614
Heres a couple of my tracks that you could be free to use. But its just really to show you the stuff i can do. Hope you find someone you like :)

While the majority of people now work digitally, and so traditional electroacoustic music using tape and real oscillators isnt practical. It is still an interesting to see how people now create this kind of music in their own ways?
Electroacoustic music has been used in media and even games for a long time. The first example being 'Forbidden Planet' but audio design in games such as Fable II used entirely electroacoustic styled transformations of vocals for every sound effect.
Does anyone here have experience doing such things? It would great to hear about the techniques they found or their favourite examples of it.
I don't really know the range of taste on here to i could be wasting people's time with this post :P
Apart from applying the usual techniques for treating MIDI instruments such as velocity editing, learning the instruments limitations, styles and general research on the instrument, violins always need a hell of a lot od automation. Bowing is not done at a constant velocity/volume. Imagine what it would sound like in a real orchestra. Also remember to treat a string ensemble sampler differently from a solo sound. Most samplers are of ensembles such as first violin section. Do not get it confused as a solo instrument.

NG is a site for viewing and collaborating on projects. I am asking why we can't use the project function to help know where our material is going.Because you are releasing your work under a creative commons license. Users of your work are not obligated to inform you how they use it.
If you want a format just so your music is free there are far better places to do it.The NGAP has a whole lot of listeners, it's hard to argue with an established community. I might suggest if you want to post your music in a more restricted fashion, there are better places to go.
Sure there are ways to steal from any streaming system but making it easier to do so doesn't make it better. Or just a request for download rather than a 100% open format. Are you dense? It's not stealing when you have agreed to release your music under terms that allow anyone to download your music for free. Don't like it? Don't use Newgrounds.
This is not a rant rather than a subject to discuss. To see what people actually think of a system like this.People seem to like it just fine, if you judge their opinion based on the fact that people continue to upload music every day.
There is no harm at seeing what people think about the current setup. Yes i understand that currently everyone's work is under a creative commons licence, but there is no harm in discussing alternatives. I am not having a go at people who prefer the current system. Just because people still use it does not make it a perfect system. Using the opinion ' Don't like it? Don't use Newgrounds.' Then any site you input into that 'motto' wont be open to criticism and thereon improvement.
For the record, about the 'stealing comment' if you read it properly i say that in the current system you dont steal people just take. I was debating about what would happen if the downloads where not enabled on a track. So no i am not 'dense'

Of course I hate people who don't think art has much value but I doubt there are many people on this forum who think that.
Art is a part of our culture, but so is McDonalds. Try opening your own McDonalds and see what happens. So why should every song be ours to do with as we please? Art has value, beyond "oooh, pretty!" and I'm sick of people implying (or flat out saying) it doesn't. It's belittling and there's no need for it.
The audio portal isn't a dedicated audio site like SC or T61, if you had the option to disable downloads then the main reason the audio portal was made becomes obsolete. If you don't want your tracks to be available for free then don't upload them here.
there is a "heard in x entries" anyway at the side of a song so I don't know what the fuss it about :P
The audio portal would not become obsolete, because a) i am suggesting you can always request a track or at least inform the purpose for downloading it, and b) I am suggesting that artists should have the option for an unconditional release where they dont have a say in what it gets used for.
An example:
Artist X decides to put their new track on NG. A listener decides they want to use that 'art' for their own work, wether that would be a remix, a game, movie, or possibly even passing it of as their own. Artist X does not have a guaranty that they will even be informed what their track will be used for.
What i am purposing is
Artist X gains the option of continuing with the previous process, OR they restrict downloading to request system or a conformation of what the purpose of the download is.
This way you can still keep NG a place for free contributions but with the knowledge what its for

Art is part of our culture (as shitty or obscure might be that art) and everybody should have access to that and use it.
There is a definite difference between enjoying art and using it. You are right, we all should have the ability to enjoy art, but using it for your own projects needs to be something that is negotiated. You cans till enjoy the 'art' by going to the artist's page and listening to that art. It is impossible that all art can be enjoyed by everyone because it very simply costs money to make. But making art as accessible as possible for people to enjoy as the original artist released, should be made as easy as possible.
However an artist should not have to give up their work to be used for something else without knowledge or consent. If you are not bothered by giving your work away without negotiation than you still can, but it stops others that want their work to be treated more respectably and honourably.
I dont see why NG stops people doing this, simply giving us the option to release something to the community as well as an option to GIVE it to the community. The portal can still be about giving to the community. But can also include an option for having people asking or even just informing you of what they are doing with YOUR work

There's really no stopping this, as even with a download button there's always using 3rd party programs to download the music anyway. Soundcloud does let you choose, but even I can find a way past that. Not to mention the whole reason the audio portal exists is so that music can be used with no permission in flash submissions.
i understand the forum is for creating music for other users but would it not be possible to do that within the projects function? atleast to have some conformation on what they are doing?
I have noticed recently through people downloading my tracks without leaving any feedback, that when i upload a piece here, i then let it be liable to be used almost anywhere with no control from me.
I am new here and have been trying to put this in a way that doesn't get me flamed immensely (tbh i am terrified of forums). So i may just not have spotted a box that i could tick to stop people downloading my tracks.
But if it is an issue what do people think about being so trusting with the community's goodwill?
