Nice test... This, I think is the only one I've replied to so far, that was quite pointless. It's amazing how this topic has so many replies, but I guess that everyone did the same thing as me - they just answered for fun.
You can probably become level 2 if yo refer a few good authors to submit good movies (and write your account name on the textbox in the NG flash uploading page to give you credit) to be posted right away, and to get a good rating (I'm not even sure if you can even do that). It's very hard (or impossible) to do that, so just wait a few days, depositing your points daily, to level-up. It's no big deal if you're on level 1 for just a few days - we all were.

D
oh well, thanxz anyway.
Well, o yeah, the link messed up. Here, I'll post a new one. CLICK HERE TO GO TO AN OLD PAGE.
Is it better now? Does it work?
O yeah, and if you re-spawn in someone's face (when you die and then the guy says "rise from the grave" and then you become alive again), they get scared - for example, the brain of the final boss pops up, and the soldiers in the Golden Axe level stretch their eyes.

I'm not that sure. My voting power is +4.12%, and I got 582 blam points and 239 protection points. These statistics might help you.

I didn't got an account untill later though, wish I had done it earlier.
Yeah - I registered for an account, but left it for 3 years - now I'm on a pretty low level cuz I didn't deposit the experience points before (I only came here to watch movies and to play games before, not caring about my Newgrounds Gold account), and only started now.

Yeah... the guys crowding around you when you go to a good movie or game - this always happened in my class - not only with me. I liked memories of me playing neat games on this site a long time ago - 2-3 yrs back when I was in junior high. Newgrounds changed so much - it's amazing, but I still liked it when it was crappier back then. The upgrades made the whole thing so big - now it's so much better. This is one of my favorite sites now, and even if I stop going here, I'd still remember it.
O yeah, plus, with the magic stick you get when you beat the game the first time, you can also smash down the red guards in the Golden Axe level. And something happens when you hit the car with this stick in the Street-Fighter stage, but I forgot. More chickens, maybe, flying out the car? Damn, I forgot.

Here's a tip:
You might already know this, but it should make it a lot easier if you look at his patterns. They are not random - he follows a certain course. Just learn his course and keep on shooting at his head. This is one of the EASIER bosses - you'll meet much tougher guys afterwards. Shoot his head only - I think that's the guy's only weak spot. I hope that this helps.

Yeah, you're right. That was prob a long time ago, prob before I even went here. But I remember sometime then there were 300 movies... I donno I [rob don't remember correctly. If you guys want to c an old page of Newgrounds that was created a long time ago, and still isn't deleted, go here. I just remebered it was a few thousand because this was one of the old pages I went to and it said that, but I don't remember if it was created 2 or 3 years ago. :D
I got really addicted to that game, but when I beat the game once and used the magic stick that turns things into chickens and flattens the red guards, I stopped as I was repeating the third level. This is a game worth playing, but a lot of games get boring when you beat them and try them again with only a little different thing in the game - like the magic stick. But there's some other games MGS, even the first one, that are NOT boring when you play them again. This, however, is like an old arcade game - the immitation of an old arcade game looks really cool, but after I've played it for a while, the graphics (esp. in the third level) pissed me off. It was really a fun experience, though.
Geez... come to think of it, NewGrounds really changed over the years - everything here changed so fast and improved so much... wow. I'm still thinking of this site when it was on the net three years ago... So many things are so different now - it's so much bigger now, that's for sure, and it's more advanced too.

I saw TomFulp's Sign-Up Date in his profile. So there ya have it!
Brewed Beaner, are you here?
O yeah, you're right. Tom Fulp IS most likely to have registered on the day Grounds Gold was created - obviously. That's smart.
I knew about Newgrounds around three years (yeah, I remembered that) ago when it only had around a few thousand movies. I signed up about 2 and a half years ago, but I'm on a low level and don't have many points cuz I only started depositing points every day this November. Before, I just went here sometimes to play flash games and to watch movies, but not to gain exp. points. :( Damn that sux.

Some of you eventually figured it out; it's the game I've been working on with I-Mockery! We started four months ago and expected to be finished in a week, but the game evolved into something neither of us ever expected... The crunkest Flash games ever made!
Not only is this game a lot of fun, but it is packed with easter eggs! There are so many secrets that we can't even remember them all! Good luck finding them!
So with no further ado, here is what you have waited 24 hours for:
DOMO-KUN'S ANGRY SMASHFEST!
Damn, I stayed past midnight, but forgot to see it! So now, I'm playing it, in the morning. It's a pretty good game - with old-video-game-graphics on all the sprites and backgrounds to match together, to look like an old ass video game. This looks cool, and I think that personally, it was worth waiting for. This kind of reminds me of project EDDIE, but na, it's way better - it's a nice video game worth playing.
Did you guys know that there's new versions for the older episodes of Xiao-Xiao? Go to xiaoxiaomovie.com to see them, if you havn't already seen them. Sorry if this topic has already been up - I did a brief search on the BBS and couldn't find any.
For example, take XiaoXiao3 - the newer version features more play buttons (slow motion, scene skip, rewind, backwards slow motion), and some errors in the movie (when the guy runs into the door and goes through) have been corrected, so if you're a big fan of XiaoXiao like me, and havn't seen these, you might want to.
:D
Beth was a stupid plaggerizer that stole work from another hardworking guy. She should really be banned from NewGrounds (IS SHE?), or at least not permitted to submit work, in case she tries to plaggerize something else. Stealing someone's work in a desparate attempt to earn credit for yourself is the lowest you can go - it's even worse than not having credit at all.

Damn, I hope I remember to be in this one. Sounds like a wicked surprise if Tom's so excited about it. Cool. I wonder what game it is...
PARTYTIME! YAY!
Let's all go celebrate... lol!!!
- I've been here for 2 years (and I havn't deposited my gold until about 2 months ago), and I havn't got the slightest idea of the history of NewGround's history. I just went here every time to play some online games.
BTW... Boo Destroyer - you must've been here way before me. How did u find this fact about the history of NewGrounds?
I've been a POLICE LIEUTENANT for a while, and I got 700+ points, but I didn't level-up yet. :'(
I think, from my experience on Newgrounds so far, and the ranks I've been on, that you need...
100 blam/protection points to become part of the SAFETY PATROL
200 blam/protection points to be a SECURITY GUARD
300 blam/protection points to be a POLICE OFFICER
400 blam/protection points to be a POLICE SERGEANT
and
500 blam/protection points to be a POLICE LIEUTENANT
And, I think you need 1000 blam and protection points to be a POLICE CAPTAIN. Yeah, I think that when you reach the ELITE LEVEL the required points for a level-up vary and change at different times.

I'm so pissed for no ganning any extra XP, and seing that required XP to get a level grows...
Yeah, before, you were able to get experience points in a different way - to not get experience points in 10s, but now, there's only two ways to get these experience points - by voting (on 5 movies or more per day and clicking the link to deposit your experience points), and by referring other good flash artists to submit their flash animations (if they put your username in the textbox before submitting their movies, and if their movie gets a good score). I think that you get 10 points in both of these ways.
Tom Fulp was the guy with the great, original idea to come up with this site - for users to upload, view, vote, and do many things related to flash. This site was a big success and a hit - it's one of the best flash sites on the Internet, created thanks to the NewGrounds Crew - Tom, Wade, and many other people, so he, along with many other people, did a lot for many Internet users. I think that this site was a great idea (I've already said that for a million times), and he should keep up the good work. He's a guy with a very creative mind.
I donno... are the games in ".swf" (EXPORTED FLASH) format? They must be, to be submitted and accepted on the site, and you may only posta maximum of 2 flash files per day. You can read the NEWGROUNDS FAQ (the HELP button on the top of the page) for more rules on submitting movies. I hope this helps.
When you're logged in, just vote for 5 movies, and then on your fifth movie, just click the link to deposit your experience points. You many do this once a day, and will earn 10 points. You can also refer people to submit their flash movies to NewGrounds, and if they enter your name in the referal box, and if their flash movie gets a good score, you'll be rewarded with points. After you deposit your points after voting every day, it should tell you how many points you need to go to the next level. As you level up, you get more neat stuff and benefits from this site.
I'm not sure... Yeah, I was wondering why the points required for some higher levels were uneven, with strange varying numbers. So only the first levels have fixed numbers for level-ups, and some of the higher levels are for people competing for places, right? (For example, the highest levels have only one member, or a fixed number of members in each one of them - the highest level goes to the person, or people - the first, second, and third places, for example, with the most exp. points, the second highest goes to the person or people with the second most exp. points, and so on.), and to level-up, you have to beat other people and get more experience points than them to take their place. I think that's how it goes, but I'm not sure.
Yeah, in the FRAME ACTIONS input "stop" to stop it from looping. You can also set the FPS (frames per second) lower to slow down the movie, insert more frames in between your keyframes to slow parts of your movie down, or insert more keyframes to make it take a longer time, and change the keyframes to fit the action - to make a transition between the previous frame to the next frame, to make the animations smoother. Your choice.
Yeah... there should be a search feature, for the reviews of blammed movies - it is kinda hard to find reviews by just remembering the date and looking in the records of many days - is there one?
The access to these reviews, is not such a waste of space on NG. Some people are right by saying that they're not so useful, and not many people will access these entries, however, it could be useful when authors check for what they did wrong, flash artists check what mistakes authors made to learn from these mistakes, and reviewers that want to keep their reviews in their profiles can, for a year or so (was it a year before the reviews of blammed entries get cleared?). Also, these entries are just text, and there's only a few flash banners, randomly selected for each blammed entry. They can't cost that much space to NewGrounds.
Yeah, this is a pretty good idea - this way, the users could see what the crappy movies got, why they got BLAMMED, and the funny comments the viewers wrote to blam the movies. Also, I really got pissed before when the reviews I've taken a long time to write got deleted, because the movies got blammed, leaving me only with the reviews for the good ones.
Also, it's also pretty good that users can access their reviews and check for replies from the log-in member menu. This makes things more convenient.
Suggestion: old under-judgement movies should be shown in portal again, maybe in another section to give users a chance to clean up (protect/blam) what was missed before - to encourage users to take out the crap and reward the good movies, and also to free up space in N.G.'s server.
N00bs shouldn't be bashed around just for being new - remember - some so-called N00BS may have an amazing artistic flash talent - ready to make the next no.1 movie in NewGrounds. Experience points, levels, BBS forum posts, blam/save rank, and reviews may not tell if you're good at flash or not. The next best flash artist could be at level 1. And if you diss them, you may be the next laugh on their flash video - if it makes it to the top videos. So... don't be so hard on these guys.
Yeah, I just saw one the BLAM club's ad movies (the one that made it to the top 50 of all time, "All Your BLAM!"), and i thought it was kinda related to this. Yeah, a lot of movies have been surviving on NewGrounds - a lot of movies that shouldn't have survived. This sucks.
However, more movies would've been surviving if the blam club wasn't formed and wasn't operating. Thanks for the 50 MOST RECENT MOVIES display, the crappy movies can be spotted right in the portal, before they hide on NG's server. They're doing a good job, but a lot of good movies have been blammed too, hopefully accidentally, but if that happens, there's always an option for the author to re-submit.
What kind of video game backgrounds - for what kind of video game, and what kind of pictures? If you're specific, you may get better help from people (if you did not solve your problem already)
In my opinion, if you're a good Flash artist, you can also draw the background with the tools on Flash - they could make your video game look better - it just depends if your sprites are photos and close-to-real-life-pics, or drawn, animated and abstract pictures. However, sometimes, like in xiaoxiao 9, drawn objects (stick figures), can also fit in with real-looking pictures (the background of the game). It depends really on how you put them together. Good luck on your Flash.
