Topic: The Joker Delirium

Posted: 08/17/08 07:52 AM

Forum: General

In the Dark Knight, (The new film, sequel to Batman Begins; 2005) The character of the Joker states that the only really logical way to live, in a sense of survival, is to defy logic entirely.

To live in direct confrontation of the norm 'perfection'.

Self destruction becomes acceptable, accepting the fate that you have no fate at all, that you dont mean more than anybody else, you have no fear, pain becomes pleasure, material substance has no value.

In doing this He instills fear, and as a counterweight to the hero of the tale, becomes not a man but an icon, making him impossible to defeat, or deter.

In a world where we could actually live this way, would it 'work'? In any given sense of the word?

Ideally there should be a Newgrounds calender page, with dates of regular events, Pico Day, big releases, competition stats, etc, with timers for all of it, I doubt it would be hard to do.

In a typical day, especially on the internet, I see "Americans are fat, obese slobs" and that sort of jazz all over.

Then, when it comes to something like the Olympics, we mud-stomp those countries who were so eager to say LOL AMERICA BE FAT.

Great Britain, Canada, and others.

SUCK IT!

But you are aware that America is statistically the fattest country in the world?

Thats not to suggest that your athletes would be, or anyone of an athletic disposition for that matter, but for those who put very little effort in, insist on driving meager distances because they cant be bothered to walk, never use public transport, dont watch their diets, and consume a rediculous amount of fast food on average per citizen, primarily the older segment of America.

If you dont fit that category, then you shouldnt be getting tetchy about it.

UK Rap, is where its been for a long time, the US Rap scene has been dominated by the Lil Wayne-Soulja Boy explosion.

Now its time for decent MC's like Inner Circuit, Skrein, Dr Syntax and Jehst to bring it back.

Don't worry, most people who do bass and sing do.

Does anybody know of any exercises that I can do to work this problem out?
Simplify the basslines. There is no cheating in it, a lot of bassist/vocalists do it. We can't all be Geddy Lee.
I was looking more towards practices that I could do to strengthen my ability to do both at the same time. I mean, I can play a simple bass line like "Come Together" and sing along, but a more above-average one like "Spoonman" just screws me over

If there's any kind of exercise besides plain old practice that could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. And, if not, I'll just stick to plain old practice

Run your Minor and Major pentatonics back and forth to a metronome, paying attention to nailing the click. Focus on chromatics, and do your best to familiarize your self with as many aspects of your instrument as you can, learn what notes go where on the fretboard, which is alot easier if you just learn the bottom two strings and then use corresponding octaves, and dont overdo it. I spend long periods of time playing for four hours a day +, then if i take a break for a week or so from practice apart from gigs and stuff and afterwards you seem to come on better than went you went in.

Bass playing is entirely subjective, its not really like singing, which relies largely on natural talent, the more practice and commitment you put in, the more skill you get out.

I know alot of you smoke this 'pot', but i think you aught to smarten up, get your life in gear before its too late. but once youve done it once, your heavily addicted for the rest of your life. I know. I've seen it. I've seen people ruin their entire lives off one mariwuana joint. dont let it happen to you or your friends. just say no guys. please post other anti-pot stories, and stop this madness!

Let me get this straight.

'99% of pot heads end up smoking crack within a year or less'

Are you mentally retarded? Either I need a really really good talking to, which I probably do, but not about this, or that came straight out of your ass.

Im 15, im a nice kid, I get good grades, I smoke, very little, about 2 ciggerettes a day. I have done for about a year and a half. I drink on the weekends, and about once a month I have a joint. Again, I have done for some time. (Note* alot longer than a year)

And, heres the big sinker, ive never tried crack, and really dont want to.

There are a number of reasons why 'we' smoke pot.

Firstly, because its an outlet, so are all other drugs, helps us blow off steam, and we are not allowed in pubs, hardly anyone will give us booze, but most any pot dealer around will serve us.

Secondly, because we need a break from the constant war thats being waged on young people, by everyone, all the time, except young people and those of a very high understanding of young people.

And thirdly, because its really really fun. I mean really fun.

In conclusion, yes, I am 15, yes, I do smoke pot, and no, im not a fuck up. Thanks for your time.

Exactly. Its more or less impossible for the entire population of a voting system to be unbias, even if they specifically try not to, its just the way opinion works. Its mood dependant too.

Some programmes have really good mastering software built in. Logic, on the Mac, has about 32 EQ's for you to mess around with and stuff, and theres alternatives on the PC, which arent really as good, but the functions on your production software should be able to do it for you.

Theres plenty of websites that run great drum loops and backing tracks, and some of them let you download, so theres also plenty of ways of playing along to them wether you record them or not, but its worth using Audacity either way, because its a great programme if you cant get hold of Logic.

Topic: Mugabe - Mugone?

Posted: 04/06/08 06:51 PM

Forum: Politics

If Mugabe gets back in, then once again, the victims of his leadership will remain victims. But the opposing party, who has pressed so hard to gain control, do the want dictatorship for themselves or freedom? Thats the real question of the debate, as to wether Mugabe should, in fact, be reinstated is absurd. He is "that bad" of a leader, he is a tyrant. All he did for his country was destroy.

People should never, ever be afraid of their government. This is how the facist machine grows and operates. Seeds of evil. Arguably, in moderation, (if that could ever be achieved.) It would be a far more balanced ideal for governments to be afraid of the citizens they govern.
