I like the first one! It's pretty detailed and unlike the rest, you used shadows. It gives your character depth, keep doing that.
Is it made with a reference? Because it looks quite different than your other images.

Thanks, that's cool to hear. Thinking back to that makes me smile too, I wanted to transform that feeling into a picture.

Yep, that's what I meant, but I don't know how to fix that error myself. Darn.

also the "first" button is broken.

Yay! I'm thinking of doing an additional upload on friday this week, to already have an actual comic online.
Also, I know : / I don't really get the problem, it's probably in the 'numbering' of the pages, but I'll have to take a look at it with my websiteguy. Not supposed to happen.

I thought about it, but at the moment that's just going to be too much work. Maybe if this thing actually goes somewhere or it turns out I can keep it running for long enough and I have the time.. Maybe. But not anytime soon.
I hope my english is good enough to pull it off..

Hey look, I made a thing and then I posted it on my website!
So it's on my website!
You know, the webcomic that's on my website!
Oh, and it's also in the art portal. Man, it feels like ages since I uploaded something there. Probably because it's been ages.

I should do that more, yeah. I guess I should make that my new years resolution or something, but I still feel a lot like an awkward newcomer :(

Anyway, happy new year and congrats to all!

Art school as in art college, I guess? Not from what I experience. And the whole 'art students take more medication for their mental health'.. Can't it just be that people who are more depressed/stressed/anxious are more attracted to (studying) art in general?
(Not endorsing the depressed, starving artist imagery per se, but it could be)
I went to "art-highschool" and I can safely say that is not exactly more stressful than 'normal' highschools. Less so, probably. It's more physically work-intensive, but I had a lot more stress in my first two 'normal highschool' years.

Her shape is a little "generic unrealistic babe" for me, but it's pretty caricature-y as is, so whatevs. I do like the line colour experimentation, the face/hair looks good! You should try making the rest of the lines accurate colours too, like skin tones/all that.

Yes, I know, she looks like a rather standard pretty-babe, but I don't actually draw a lot of those, I think. Those boobs were fun to draw though.
And I'm a sucker for black and white :D I know I should learn how to work more in colour, but I like the clean style of black/white and some shadows.

At 12/5/11 08:04 PM, MasterMerol wrote: Gah, i love the way you draw faces, mine always seem to come up kind of weird and a little generic. Do you draw them in "parts" (draw an oval, draw a cross in it, etc etc) or do you draw them straight ahead?

Oh, well, most of the time I start off with an oval or circle shape and start adding stuff, yeah, like the guidelines for the eyes and such. But that's mostly for when I want the face to look kind of realistic, or when the head is turned at an angle in which it isn't very easy to guess where everything will be. For more cartoonish faces or easier, full frontal views of faces, I tend to draw less guidelines.
The girl I just posted for instance doesn't have a difficult face and was supposed to stay a sketch, so I just kind of drew her in one 'take'.

Response to: Morthagg makes things. Posted December 5th, 2011 in Art

This girly started out as just a test to see how to change the colour of a line, but I kind of liked the way she turned out.

Response to: New tablet choice? Posted December 2nd, 2011 in Art

Well, I have an intuos3, A5 size, which is, I guess, the medium size. It's an older model and probably more in your price-range, and it's small enough to fit in most bags, but large enough to do more detailed work. Actually, I find this model to be the best fit for me.

Soo.. I was making a charactersketch for one of the people in my upcoming movie for my Masters his year. The funny thing is that it is based on the voice of a friend of mine, so it's a bit strange to put a different face on him, but trying to imagine a person by listening to someone speak is pretty cool.
Anyway, I liked how it turned out so maybe I'll use it in the film, and wanted to show it to you guys.
