About the hair how do you think I should do the hair?
and about the lips do you mean they dont suit the character or they dont blend in well??

Try to make the hair a little more vague and 'soft', if you can. That, in combination with shadows and highlights will make it look less 'fake'.
I meant the lips don't blend in very well :) Lips are hard to draw as is, these ones are very flashy in colour and most people tend to overaccentuate the edges, or stick them on the face without any more surrounding.. facebulges. Oh cjhgqvqq I'm having a bad day language-wise, I hope you understand what I mean.

Response to: Critique my Digital work please! Posted March 13th, 2012 in Art

LegolaSS pretty much said it.
The face is so 'smooth' and flat that everything has a 'stuck on' feel to it. Like it isn't incorporated into the body, but more like a plastic dollhead with stickers on it, especially around the eyes. Also, a lot of work must have crept into the hair, but I personally dislike hair with almost every strand detailed. It gives a plasticine-y feel. Just as the face, it would work better with stronger shadows and highlights.
That said, even though the lips don't particularly work in this drawing, they're nicely drawn.

On a brighter note, i love logging in to see a new comic by yourself, the "realistic" views and comics you do are wonderful and the art is smack on the target!... wouldn't want you to stop any time soon :3

Aw hey, thanks! Don't worry, quitting the comic isn't on my schedule ^^ Though truthfully, I'm a little surprised the thing does so well. It seems to resonate with more people than I expected. Which is pretty awesome, and certainly another incentive to keep going.

New comic ahead: No Sighing Tonight. It's a little sad.
I kinda want to put this one in the art portal too, but I feel like I'm overdoing it a little.
Maybe.

Anyway, I'm happy with how it turned out.

A friend of mine is an intern history teacher who convinced her school to lighten up the history classroom a little.. with art!
Even better, my art!
Yay!
So she gave me a few historic figures to draw, and here's a really early draft of a 1910's suffragette.

Pfrt.

Anyway, I kinda liked the last dancing-me of the comic, so I made it into a stand-alone image.

Haha, yep, it's a gameboy advance. I was probably playing pokemon blue or Mario Kart or something.

To say that I don't yet have a good grasp on this kind of technique is an understatement, but at least I had fun making this strange face. Something different for a change.

Well, there are some things that I would like to pour into a comic as a way of dealing with them, and I think I'm tactful enough for that, but I'm a little scared it would come across as whining or looking for pity.
Which is really, rrrreally not what I want.

Egh, maybe I should care a little less about such things. It's my &?%# comic >: (

As long as I won't need eye bleach or anything, I guess I'm fine.

No, no fear young one. This one is personal in the sense that it deals with emotions, not with my ladyparts. Those comics will have a warning on the top of the page, as to prevent the need for eye-bleaching.

Actually, I may have a problem.. I'm thinking of making the next one kinda personal and not explicitly.. humorous. But I don't know how people will react to something like that and if that's a good idea. I don't want to come across as a whiner. Blergh

And here, the reason why I can't join the Comic Jam at the moment. Drawing this stupid little thing took me hours due to horrible concentration and obviously, headache. I had to take a nap in between, geez.

"But Morthagg, why draw the thing in the first place?"
Because I had to vent my frustration.
THROUGH ART.

The good thing: I've had a piece of text that I've wanted to do a comic to lying around for a long time, and I'll say, it's about rain! Ka-ching!
The bad thing: Oh God I drew a first outline and it's probably going to be 8 pages stuffed with all different kind of water and I suck at drawing water.
Let's hope I get this thing done and at least it'll be good practice.
