Well, no. I'ts pretty much in the rules. Over thar. Everyone does it that way, it's easier for others to read, shows some effort on your part and it really isn't that difficult. Click on the upload button. Make sure your image small enough. Upload. Post.
I'm curious though, so please do.

Do I post it here or just in the art portal?

As said, the original first sketches are not really supposed to be seen until your partner finished the final piece, so I suggest waiting for you to get a partner appointed to you, then uploading the sketch in your dumping grounds and providing your partner with a link to your specific sketch so he/she can download it.

Wait, I saw my name dropped somewhere.
I tried to read up on everything but it's all kinda scrambled and I'm confused. Do you still need drawings at the moment? And.. an avatar, or something?

Ahhhhh oh geez I'm so sorry. Priorweb says I forgot a payment, while I thought that was taken care of. It has nothing to do with the guy that made my website, it's the hosting service, so no slaps for him. So uh.. Normally I'll get the site up and running this week, hopefully tomorrow, but if not, somewhere else this week.
I hope.
Aw I'm sorry guys. This sucks :( And right on my 50th comic, too.

But thanks for the kind words of everyone though. I'ma go sew a plushie now.

I just wanted to say that you seem a lot better already, and it's cool that you're taking people's advice.
There are still things that would improve the look and feel of your characters (for instance, keep in mind that a body is 3D, and limbs have volume), but at the moment I'm curious toward your pose studies and your own stuff before I start flopping all the advice ever in your lap. So go ahead and draw some more, you're on the right track.

Response to: JamSession's Art Posted December 10th, 2012 in Art

I like your stuff! The detail in them is splendid, also the fact that you often completely fill up the space you have appeals to me (I kinda suck at that). Your style really stands out, can't wait to see more.

Now excuse that terrible sentence because I'm just generally sad that your fantastic art thread makes all the average ones look very vomity D;

Aw, you. That's not true. ..'Vomity' does work on my imagination a bit much and now I'm all icky.

Anyway though.

Ew. No, ew. You're kind of asking for harsh comments, you know that?
Anyway, do you mean using real-life porn movies as examples for anatomy studies, or do you mean you are going to draw mangathings with penises in their mouths?
I can actually understand and even kind of recommend the first thing, but the second.. why on earth would you think that'll help you? Honest question.

This has a ton of flaws in it. But, keep practicing. I think you should (I should too) learn the character anatomy.

Darling.. If you like making comments about how the anatomy is incorrect, maybe try and be a little productive by specifying what exactly is off about the drawing, link to helpful websites or make a corrected version with guidelines? Just saying 'this is wrong but good luck' isn't helping anyone.

Anyway, hi there Kiwiko09! I get the feeling you're quite open to improvement and that's pretty great. Just know that many people in the art forum dislike manga-like drawings because it's generally taken that it's best to start off learning realistic proportions before you start playing with them.
The first couple things I'd like to say about your drawings is that the way you draw your lines is a little cramped and static. Try loosening up your lines and make them a little more fluid. You can do this by drawing a lot of loose circles over and over although that's.. pretty boring. Make loose and quick sketches, those'll help too.
Also, what's meant by 'lopsided face' is that a part of your face seems to droop down a bit, you can (try to) avoid this by drawing guidelines on your faces. Actually, guidelines and basic structures are a pretty good help for everything, you can try and make a kind of stick figure before making a full drawing.
I uh made you a really stupid image to illustrate :D
I hope it's a bit helpful!
Also, if you don't really feel like doing that immediatly, PAL1234567891's advice it pretty good too: real life studies are immensly helpful.

About the feeling many people who dabble in drawing might have once in a while. I've had it for months now (or maybe years), and I am still torn between drawing less for my (mental?) health and drawing more because FUCK I HAVE NO EXCUSE TO JUST NOT IMPROVE.

I completely agree with jonny here. True, the whoring comment was out of line, but does everyone have a stick in their arse lately? The dude asked for a freebie, but he wasn't going to make any money off of it himself, 't was just a simple logo..thing. You have people that ask for free (or "i'll pay you a part of what I make afterwards") illustrations for stuff that they will actually try to sell, and even they sometimes find a good-natured soul who wants to spend their time on it. I find it quite discouraging and elitair to immediatly start attacking people whenever they ask for a free drawing.

Hey, we all like to get money for our doodles, but a lot of the stuff we draw already is for free and for fun, it doesn't have to get all uptight just because someone makes a request.

Hleid here is in no way historically accurate, it's a weird mix of renaissance and viking stuff, but was fun to draw anyway. Her eye on the right is kind of wandering off but nyeh.
