I cosplayed a kabutops! It's based on that.
The is finally some progress being made regarding my own webcomic.. In the sense that I am communicating with people who want to help me build that site and make it look decent.
You have to start somewhere.
Oh man oh man oh man I can't wait
Anyway, while restlessly waiting for more on that subject, here is a sketch of me in my Kabutops-suit chasing a Bellsprout.
Because I can!

Oh, uh.. Relatively new, I think? Apparently from January 2011, had to look it up in my news posts.
I'm afraid I'm not really.. knowledgeable enough to do my own voting :( but i'll look around in the art forum for inspiration.
I have a question.. What is meant exactly by 'No creature chimeras'?
Oh dear, I have the same problem. I hardly ever finish anything. I've been trying to get a webcomic up and running for about a year now, and the site still looks the same as when it was one month old : / That also has to do with the fact that I know nothing of websites and ComicPress, but I totally could have if I pushed myself more.
Anyway, what works for me is the motivation of an assignment and maybe the money that's in it, but apparently even that is not enough for you :D Well, if the work itself is engaging and creative, it of course makes working on it more fun. Maybe you should set some kind of new, creative boundary or rule for a piece of work you really want or need to finish?
thegarbear14 asked me to draw a dog-man in jeans and a plaid shirt. There!

Inspired by your hawk-nosed bosmer from skyrim are we?
Pfrt, my hawk-nosed bosmer was inspired by my love for those noses.

Dance, my pretties, dance!

Its really nice to see some proper Nicolaides old school style gesture drawings , great stuff! Def watching this thread!
I actually had to research that term, but okay, thanks :D
Eh.. Drawing to songs you want to dance to is actually not that easy. It makes for messy drawings. (Songs like these, actually. Damn I love the chieftains' cd Reel Music)

The hots for lesbians? ;D
Apparently, yes!
And thanks, Hyptosis. Funny to have someone share my attraction to those noses.

Wait.. what the fuck did I just say? I meant girls with NOSES like these :D
For some reason I have the serious hots for girls with women like these.

It's unconventional because it's uncomfortable to tilt your head that much ;D
Well yes, that, and she's ugly.
Ah, an update! Finally!
Actually, I made this at school, since I have lost most programs on my laptop after the crash, including photoshop, and I lost the cd. So yeah. (Luckily I still have my drawings and most of the other stuff!)
Anyway, another try at drawing an unconventional looking woman.
My laptop crashed hardcore yesterday, and chances are I've lost everything I've made/written/collected in the last 4 years. So.. Fingers crossed for a better outcome.
At least I have a few good drawings in the Newgrounds dump here. But it'll probably take a while before I'll be able to upload something again.

Kabutops rules! First series is still the best. I spent some serious time on that suit, it has stings and a tail on the back and everything.
Thanks again for all the happy birthdays :) or variations thereof.
Thanks :3
Oh, and I went to FACTS yesterday (anime, comics, sci-fi, fantasy and general geek convention). Cosplay isn't really my scene (ugh, I've seen way too many naruto-cosplayers that day), but still.. I couldn't really pass up the chance to be a Kabutops.
Everything (except the shoes and panty) are self-made, sewn, and painted. Which probably shows :D It was fun anyway.

happy birthday!
Thank you :D
Oh hey look whose birthday it is today
Phew, the scores!
Anyway, congratulations to all the winners, Darwin knows you've all put a ton of work in it.
There is something I'd like to say though.. If you ever do something like this again, I think it's best to eliminate, like, half of the rounds, or make them shorter. In the end I just wasn't really feeling it anymore, staying enthousiastic and inspired for something this long is quite tiring, mentally and creatively.
I had some great fun though, and have made pieces of artwork of which I'm really proud. So thanks to everyone that made this thing happen, and hurray for all the inspiring art that has sprung out of it.
Last one for today. This is the guy that invited me. Guitarist of Hickory Falls, a Belgian rock group.
Again, same as previous picture. Lineart in sketchbook, shading afterwards.
This is actually an American guy who lives in Antwerp, Belgium at the moment. Name's Matt Watts. His sound is pretty nice. Kind of fragile. Look him up, if you want.
The lineart is the 'original', the shading is done afterwards with photoshop.

Good :D
Alright, more things. 'Real life' things. Musicians, to be more specific! I got invited to a little 'livingroom performance' and I took that opportunity to learn to draw guitars. Or, partial guitars anyway.
There we are. A.. what, 2-minute drawing or something. Tried to lift my marker as little as possible.
I hope I'm not overdoing my art-postage..

Oh hey, thanks Fifty! That's cool to hear. I used to hate working with watercolour, since it can be a pretty fickle medium. I believe you said something in the very beginning of my thread. When I was still nervous as hell to start this thing :D
Sheesh, am I on page 8 already? Well, there's another bar-night drawing coming up, nothing special.

I guess that's shit then, when you're regularly percieved as estrogen personified.
I meant their face structure, by the way, not how their faces change with expressions.

Really loving all the facial details, everything's well placed and the expressions are all so varied... haha it's something I wish I could explore a bit more myself, faces are definitely my weakness >.>
Looks really, really good though, keep it up :D
Hey thanks, it's cool of you to say that since I was getting the feeling my characters and expressions aren't very varied and tried to give them 'personalised' faces.. But mens faces are easier to vary, women get 'ugly' easily.

And because I actually kind of like him, here's a larger version.
Also, sexy close-up.
Especially for big-jonny-13, an actual heavy metal pirate.
