America is not "exceptional". Every country has the right to nationalism, but the idea that America in particular is exceptional is dated. There are three things people use to claim this: Liberty, Diversity, and Prosperity.

Liberty: Nearly every country had liberty. Yes, the constitution was revolutionary for its time, but today countries like Canada and Australia far surpass us in individual rights.

Diversity: The old Ellis island argument. Today we shun diversity, just look at immigration.

Prosperity: We are still number one in GDP, but nowhere near as prosperous as in the mid-nineties.

That kid always messages me asking why his games get removed and I tell him that they're Stencyl tutorials. He denies that they are. Now he's stealing games...I wish he'd stop submitting stuff to the Portal. None of it is good. He needs to be banned, for sure.

I feel kind of bad for him. It seems like he genuinely thinks he isn't going anything wrong.

That's a great way to get around it, but it should still have a flag button.

So, there's been a lot of stolen flash submissions as of late. This points to an issue that desperately needs correctly:
The lack of a flag flash option since the update. So far the Elite Guard Barracks has born the brunt of this, considering it is abusive to comment about stolen material elsewhere. It simply should be easier to safely report flash submissions that break the rules.

If enough people show their solidarity, we may be able to get this corrected.

Did you review the users I posted? It's incredibly hard to get to bronze when I need dozens of others to flag the same post as me, and these users haven't said anything remotely helpful.

Agreed, on both.

I think there are a few ways to get around that in the meantime. SCTE3 (a whistleblower) likes to share links to reviews which need to be flagged in places like NG Chat, and threads in the Where Is / How To forum. I'll always flag something abusive if it's linked to me.

I tried to make a thread called "Abusive Posts in Need of Deletion" for people to post links to abusive posts but I got locked, or blocked, or castrated... what term is it? Apparently that is against the rules. I have found plenty of abusives, I'll link users. Should I link them privately or something?

We should be able to flag flashes again, and less comment flags should be needed to reach a mod.

So I thought it would be a good idea to post a blacklist for comments that should be removed and haven't been due to lack of flags. I'm willing to look at anything you've found so it may be flagged and rightfully deleted.
For flagrant abusers it would be helpful to post their user page.
Or you could just improve your whistle status.

But we should, it's important after all. I believe the site would become a lot better, traffic would exponentially increase, if the userbase were given more opportunities for contribution.

So, as you all may know, newgrounds is not what it used to be. An active moderator is not a common sight to see and only only about 15 submissions are released per day.
With that in mind, I hate the statistics system. It gives people a higher vote for the time they spend here and not on how good of a user they are. The best system, in my opinion, is for B/P points, because they are not limited to 5 votes per day. The level system is atrocious. We should get points for voting on submissions AND writing reviews that are helpful to people. I also detest the whistle system. I have seen atrocious things posted on the site that are still there today—because I am have a normal whistle dozens more users need to somehow find the review and flag it for it even to reach a mod. I propose:
1. The ability to flag flash again... I saw a completely offensive video named "swag" a few days ago, it took half the day for its removal.
2. A more open moderator base. Mods have become an elitist society where dedicated users are excluded because of the time they joined.
3. A reformed level system. Every vote should count, as should helpful review ratings. Right now it takes ten years of activity to be level 60—that's INSANE.
4. Less flags should be required to reach a comment moderator

I believe one of the reasons newgrounds has become sluggish is due to the its inflexibility.
I'm not planning a Bolshevik-style revolution, I just want your ideas on how newgrounds could be improved. It is everything, by everyone after all. What are your thoughts? I'd like to get a petition going.

The account I'm using is less than 2 years old, and other than a two week period when I had no internet, I've blammed or protected almost every submission that's come through the portal since it was made and I'm already a Commander, so I think your calculations are off a bit. I may post in this thread when I hit Supreme Commander, just to see/show you how long it actually takes.

My calculations were based on me having gained 60 b/p in a week and multiplying that by 52 and 10 to get a little over 30k. If you truly commit though I suppose it can take a few years, thank god.
