For general site issues, PM Wade and he can handle it or pass it along.

If you need help implementing Flash Ads, PM PsychoGoldfish.

This vacation has been the carrot that has kept me going for so long now... I am excited to report that Castle Crashers is pretty much DONE, although the bug testing / fixing phase will be going on for a while and is followed by a lengthy final certification process. To repeat what Dan said on the devblog, this game is pretty MASSIVE and tons of fun to play... I'm amazed at how much fun we still have playing it after all these years of development. I don't feel like I'm out of the woods just yet, but I feel like I'm about to be REBORN into a new world where I can work on SOMETHING ELSE. I already have a list and it's all games for NG! I can't wait!!!!!!

I'm gonna go celebrate with P-Bot.

Admit it, you've really been on vacation all these years while you had the others guys doing all the work. I'm onto your scheme, Tom.

In all seriousness, congrats on the (near) completion of all things Castle Crashers and I hope you guys enjoy the well-earned break!

Huzzah! Thanks to those of you who cast a vote for Trick-Or-Treat Adventure Quest. After the crazy amounts o' work we put into that game, it's been a lot of fun hearing about people beating it (albeit often with the aid of a walkthrough guide heheh).

And of course, thanks again to Newgrounds for the support! :)

This is too fucking great. Not only is it a genius merchandising idea, but I get to tell everybody about how I coined the phrase "Penicorn". I gotta get me a Penicorn plush!

On a related note, if a Penicorn isn't the perfect Valentine's Day gift, I don't know what is.

I was told to try posting this here, so here goes:

Heya Newgrounders!

Just wanted to see if any of you guys are a real wiz at CSS, because if you are, I need ya! I'm finally starting to put the finishing touches on a redesign for I-Mockery.com and could use somebody who can take my design work from Photoshop and make it work online. Basically would just need you to knock out a few simple table-less templates that I can use throughout the entire site (ie: the homepage, an article page, etc.) Shouldn't be a long project for anybody with solid CSS experience.

Anywho, if any of you are interested, drop me an email at webmaster@i-mockery.com with some samples of your work if you have any and hopefully we can work somethin out. (and yes, you would get paid for any work ya do)

Thanks!

I'll argue with you on that. Tables have to be recached everytime you load the page, so that's also causing the loading time to increase rather than decrease.

That's why I said "much" of the load time is due to the ad networks, not "all" of the load time. :P

At 4/26/07 02:03 PM, Jessii wrote: That's a lot of work for only 10 hours per week minimum. I also have to say this, you're in MAJOR need of a redesign for your website because it takes way too long to load your front page "kofftableskoff". Not to mention, all of your pages, especially the front page, are full of clutter. Your other pages shouldn't scroll that much so make it so that there's a page break after so many lines and then start a new page where people have to click on page "2" or whatever to get to the next set of things.

With this said, this is a mess that no one would probably want to touch unless they're extremely organized and can redo the whole thing without losing anything.

It's actually not as much as you think and I'll be doing much of the gruntwork myself. A lot of the redesign is already done and much of the backend work with vBulletin has already been done by another programming friend of mine. We just need someone to come in and help wrap things up. In regards to page layouts 'n what not, that's not something you would need to worry about as I've already reworked how they're going to look. Much of the "load time" is due to slow ad networks which we're dumping soon.

In celebration of Friday the 13th, I've finished creating an amazing new video. It's amazing because of how insanely technical it is. You will be stunned by all the work that went into the special effects, the sounds, and of course... the rich character development. I've spent 10 years of my life and my entire family fortune creating this video.

Can you handle the terror?

Forum: Network News

Ahoy again fellow Newgrounders!

I've been out of town for the past week, but I just wanted to drop in and thank all of you for the great support and feedback for our latest game "Ivan Drago: Justice Enforcer!" It's great to finally have the game out for all to see since we worked on it constantly for months without telling anybody about it. And now that we've worked out the bugs (big thanks to those of you that helped report 'em), I hope you all have a chance to beat the game and unlock each of the characters along with the additional mini-game at the end! Oldschool Newgrounders will probably recognize that mini-game as a tribute to another classic Newgrounds game! And for those of you who want to use a little more power during your fights, you might want to try figuring out some of Drago's super moves! He's got two of 'em - the Mega Punch and Power Stomp - and they're not too hard to figure out if you've played games like Street Fighter before (plus they'll be unveiled at the end if you beat the game all the way through).

I spent a good number of years living in Philadelphia and it was always fun watching the Rocky films and seeing areas I frequented. Out of all the films, part IV was easily my favorite both because of the badass training sequences and the inhuman strength of Drago, so I wanted to pay homage to it with a big flash game. Thanks to the equally hard work of Poxpower and BomToons, I think we pulled it off nicely and I couldn't be happier with the results. And of course, I gotta thank Tom for his support of the project from the very beginning!

Well anywho, releasing this game was a great way to end the year for me - thanks for playing it! Hope you've all had a spiffy holiday season and I'll see ya in '07!

Posted: 10/31/06 05:37 AM

Forum: Network News

Ahoy again fellow Newgrounders!

I just wanted to wish all you a Happy Halloween real quick. I've been busier than ever this Halloween season, so I haven't been as active on here as I would've liked to, but I've still been coming to Newgrounds constantly and checking out lots of the seasonal flash movies and games. Some really great stuff going on this year. And let's not forget about the "Video Game Rising" Halloween art thread! Some of you went all out for that contest and it really shows. You guys would make the undead legions proud... but sorry, they'd still eat your brains.

Also, I hope you all had a chance to catch our big Halloween tribute to the Atari 2600 (and Star Wars). If not, please be sure to try the game "Jek Porkins and Ponda Baba in... Haunted House Candy Hunt!" We put a lot of work into it and you'll definitely want to fight the boss to see what happens when you win the game!

Before I go, I should also note that we did just complete our largest Halloween "Select Your Destiny" interactive story to date (over 120 pages long!) and there's also a new Count Pop rockabilly adventure for you to check out!

But hey, it's Halloween. Get out there and get some candy! These web sites will still be here waiting for you when you get back!

Have a great holiday (even if it is on a Tuesday),

-RoG-
