Any animators?

Almost every single "biking" or "racing" game submitted here. They're practically all the same. I remember seeing one of them at a 3.50 but then downvoted in a few minutes to a 3.24.

Congrats! If we hadn't eliminated the flash flag system, or I got whistle points for all the flash I've reported to Wade and that he deleted, I'm sure I'd have my deity whistle by now lol.

I have Tom to thank for that for frontpaging "The Minecraft Community" and "Gay William Johnson." Also, I forgot how many things you have to flag to get a deity whistle, do you know?

but the quantity of all of the look-alike flashes that they pump out can be considered a form of spamming.
I have to agree, but we both know that spamming is kind of allowed here to a certain extent.

^this

I remember in 2009 when I'd really want a daily award, but now that I have many, I don't care because they're really easy to get.

I don't go on the portal much these days, but I gather you mean the same authors are the ones right?

igirlgames
Argon025
smileydressup

and who can forget those biking games that are basically the same thing over and over with different backgrounds?

on an unrelated note, yay silver whistle.

At 26 minutes ago, Gimmick wrote: True, this, but what exactly is the definition of a "cookie cutter account"? The ones that win awards may as well be from a legit company producing games rather than a company that produces dressup games and ones that are just for +1 flash?

An account by a faceless gaming corporation that makes no actual contribution to the site other than providing statwhores with save points by uploading spot-the-difference and dressup games.

True, these could be legit companies, but I'd still like to see an actual contributor win an award.

At 23 minutes ago, Austerity wrote: We definitely need to band together to vote 0 on all these things and not vote 2 for those extra save points, tempting as they are.

very tempting indeed

They're doing it for the money. The more games they have out the more ad revenue they get. Pumping out a few of the same exact game several times a day means a steady stream of money. I'd like to know who is making these and where they come from, if they have a sweatshop somewhere where they force people to pump these out just so one person can get all the money. Like a pimp in a way.

^this

Spot-the-difference games are basically the same thing over and over again with really few modifications. In fact, I was lurking the P-Bot's Postings forum and I saw one of Argon025's spot-the-difference games win daily 5th.

then it was blammed

The problem being that these cookie cutter accounts spring up a lot. Say for example, there was this gamesgrow or something that recently came and is submitting these flash; it won't take long for other new ones that have no way of automatically being excluded.

I looked in the top 5 and those cookie cutter accounts took two or three daily places. People complain about my stuff getting daily awards since they don't like it, but I'd much rather see a not-so-good submission from an actual user win a daily than a cookie cutter account.

It was the Top Uploaders list... before the site got a redesign and it got set back nearly five years ago.

Well, some of you where very skeptic about my work. But I'm proud to announce that my work is coming true!
Less and less submissions are being blammed every day! Yesterday only 7 submissions where blammed. YES ONLY 7!
Although my powers have not evolved to their true form yet, but when they do. newgrounds will truly be EVERYTHING, BY EVERYONE.

I must say, I look forward to it!

Even before the redesign, 7-10 submissions were the normal amount of submissions blammed. If you look in the obituaries, a bunch of those were 5-year-old submissions the author deleted. Now that we can't delete our own movies anymore, there aren't that many movies in the obituaries anymore.

My work is coming true!

I think those users are no longer on those lists because I remember seeing their 300 or 400 odd flashes go down to 200. Not bad, there's a start.

Anyway, I think their thinking that by spamming the website with their mediocre games they can get some revenue from ads. Even thought they're essentially idiots for thinking that, that's the only reasoning I can see out of this.

And it passes because people around here have the attitude that it's decent enough to pass. Nobody votes 1. So if it's decent enough to pass, they'll vote 2. Not 1. Even though it likely deserves a 1.

I'd really like to see the statistics on how many people actually vote 1.

Thanks again!

It was a compilation. This is the last flash like this you'll see from me, I promise the next daily award I get will be from a ten-minute-long, high-quality collaboration.

It doesn't register for me as well. It seems that it doesn't register if you go to the user's page and then flag from there -- if you do so, the icon doesn't change.

What you need to do is you need to go to that submission and then search for the review, which can be cumbersome if it's a popular submission which has loads of pages and that review is buried deep in the pages.

I noticed that. Though thanks to the redesign, or maybe this feature was always there, I can sort from rating and always go to the low ratings of popular submissions. Gay William Johnson, for example, has tons of abusive reviews.

Which browser are you using? It works fine for me in Opera 11.51. I have a great way of checking, as well - trying to moderate the review straight after flagging, so I can see that my flags were applied ;)

Could do what others do then and link to it in the inbox of friends you have on here to see what they think needs to be changed or updated on it.

That's what I do now. So I take it that begging for high votes isn't considered a very bad offense, then? I've never heard of any cases involving this.

Most tend to get blammed by users watching/playing then voting.

The "Artists should not beg for high votes" is still an enforced rule, right? Does offense of this rule only warrant deletion of the author's comments or of the user?

So, for your flashes, it could be any version! I have Adobe Flash CS5, so yeah. It should be up to 30 seconds long, with 30 frames per second. It shouldn't be violent or anything, MUST be suitable for everybody. PM me a dump item with the fla when you are done. Fla should be 942 wide and 530 long. I'll take care of the rest. Well, that's it everybody, so see you soon!

i thought according to your description you were a horrible animator?
also is there a deadline? what about violence without excessive blood like in the 1950's black-and-white montage I sent you?
