No, anybody who's submitted something can get on the Artist News. But if you want to make a frontpage post, then you need an award. Also you'll only be allowed one frontpage post per 14 days
Another day where a stolen daily award should give daily 6th a daily 5th. Oh well.
Some great weekly winners!

Day 1 of my flash marathon; astronomy cartoons.
But as soon as I start animating, I find out that I don't get anything near the picture I was aiming at in my head, which results in me scrapping it again and starting all over...
I'd personally suggest that once you get your ideas and already envisioned exactly how you want to portray your concept, that you sketch some rough storyboards so that the next day when you work on it, you know exactly how to animate it.
Someone, does this sound familiar? I also catch myself comparing my work to big animators like Edd, OneyNG etc. I hate the look of my animation, when I do.
Analyze the works of the people you compare yourself to. Analyze every aspect that made them enjoyable and unique, and don't try to be too similar to an artist, formulate your own unique style.
I might join if I have some spare time, though you may want to elaborate more on the overall plotline and premise of your series.
So I'll ask you one question based on this collab of yours that you are hosting: is your goal to provide artistic variety or to churn these out faster?
Bump. Here's a brief update:
I'm up to about five minutes worth of animation for episode 39 of Adrellia Village, and the current script has undergone many revisions. So far, about ten people have signed up to help, some of them being casual viewers providing their input on WIPs, while others being talented animators and musicians.
To the musicians: I will be sending you a scene shortly that might need to be accompanied by some background music. Also, as I said in my last news post, I'll postpone the special effects to the season 2 finale, as there won't be any major fights for a while.
My deviantART journal has more in-depth updates animation and production-wise, this is just a brief update.

Ty. What if i gets the feeling to pause a project, and start on a new. So i work on them both, but at different times. Is that stupid, or doesn't that matter?
That doesn't matter at all. As long as your first project isn't postponed to the year 2020, then I'd say go for it. I take breaks from several projects of mine; I'm currently balancing 4 flash projects, and they're all making decent progress.
I'd personally advise against the layer-a-body-part style of animating, but whatever works for you. I personally find that technique overwhelming if I'm going to animate frame-by-frame, so I usually just devote one layer to one character.

I have a lot of creative ideas buzzing through my head but most of my ideas seem to just FAIL when I put them in animation form because a lot of them are slow, make little since to viewers,
Hmm, I know what you mean. I used to have this same problem for a while - it's only recently that I've worked around it. It takes time and practice to learn how to correctly execute your concepts. A huge problem I had would be I'd perfectly envision everything I was going to animate in my head, but I'd forget it later on. To fix this, I drew very, very rough storyboards when I was envisioning it, so that it doesn't distract my mind from how I'll storyboard it.
Whether the storyboards look decent or not, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that you drew it clearly enough that you know which shot is which and how to pull it off later when you do the animation in Flash.
If you're unsure which shot to use and how to portray your concept, then watch some cartoons similar to the ones you want to produce and gain inspiration from them. Your "Jake story" was a solid concept but it needed work, like I said in my review 5 days ago.
But I spend SOOOOO much time animating but I usually get very little positive results done.
I suggest doing sloppy sketches, animating them and doing the polished sketches and animating them over the sloppy. I test some animations on sloppy sketches so I don't waste my time poorly animating an elaborate character.
So what are your easy steps to animating animations FAST?
I follow the storyboard and try my best to make the animation realistic and believable. But a solution of mine would be if my character was going to do something and it would take lots of animation, give him or her an alternative. That way, the outcome is the same and production time is even shorter.
Do you map out a storyboard first? Like do you get out a sketchpad and sketch the ideas first and THEN write out a script?
Script
Storyboard
Voice acting
Animating random scenes out of order
Putting them together
What are some of your secrets that you can share? ;O
basically that alternative solution thing I mentioned above. and also to motion-tween on minor movements.
What the poster above me said, though I heard that if you simply post a rule-breaking flash in the Elite Guard Barracks that he'll get it faster instead of via PM.
the flash file i choose loads up full but doesn fully load
Could you please be a bit more specific? You said it loads up fully but then contradicted yourself saying it doesn't fully load. I'm going to assume you mean it takes a while to load and you cannot successfully track the progress of your project due to the wait time?
If that's the case, I'd suggest slipping in a preloader in the first frame. If I misunderstood you, then you'll have to rephrase your situation.
Are you talking about this?
The NG staff is still fixing that. Have you tried a different browser?
I'm not sure about the exact time, but I'm guessing for a few days, since I can still view blammed files from a few days ago.
I think this explains it best:

Good work as always mates.
Ever since the redesign, the voting system hasn't been as accessible, so that might be why.
Congratulations to all of the winners!
It's beautiful, I tell ya.
Wow, the NATA entries invaded the top 5.

pretty much it, but it was still re-submitted without any changes.
Put it on max volume for it to work :)

This, but at least a bunch of the runner-ups are on the front page.
I don't consider that "being harsh," merely, making an observation since the other days had 3.80's at daily 5th.
hmm, 5th place got 3.46? looks like things are finally slowing down.
don't think this needs to get deleted. It uses the icons for the birds, but it is in no way a game imitating an angry birds game, so I don't think there is any copyright infringement to worry about. I'll run it by Wade, but I think I already know what he's going to say. If anything it's just a crappy clock flash.
so you're only looking for games that imitate Angry Birds gameplay?

For future reference, report any flashes that contain angry birds material. Apparently that's one thing the admins are really wanting to keep out to prevent any copyright infringement.
What`s the latest news about AB?
a bunch of descriptions using copyrighted images.
by the way, it also has a bunch of abusive reviews
