It's good to know because it's an indication of a person's personality, interest, and ideas.
That's true. For instance, you already made a thread about your atheist club last month http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1377039/ This says that not only being an atheist but also the social scene around it is important to you. Really dude, you have like 30 posts and you've already made two threads screaming your beliefs at us. That's annoying whatever said beliefs may be.

Well, is it bad if I care about atheism? Atheism is growing rapidly in America and many more people are obtaining an interest in atheism. Atheists and agnostics are shunned in certain parts of the U.S. but luckily living in a more open minded community, atheists are more welcomed.

There are many atheist celebrities, bands, athletes, and organizations in this country and worldwide. Why should we keep our mouths shut about what we believe is the truth and only keep it to our heads to let organized religion continue to dominate the free society?

I appreciate your opinion. I'm not here to be annoying, I'm here to advocate the truth.

Friends and Atheist Preference Posted November 12th, 2014 in General

I'm a member of my college's atheist club, and we discuss this topic sometimes.

Are a lot of your friends atheists, or skeptics? Would you want the girl/boy you are dating/marrying to be an atheist/skeptic as well?

Personally, the majority of my friends are atheists and I met my girlfriend at my college's atheist club, who I've dated for nearly two years now.

Of course there are decent people who have faiths, but I like to hang out with atheists and skeptics because we are bit more open-minded.

Some of you guys are a bit narrow minded, no offense. I'm just saying, we have the right to participate in an atheist club. If you think that there is little to nothing to talk about atheism as opposed to Christianity and other religions, read Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion and get back to me.

Also, atheist/skeptics clubs may not be very prevalent in areas that are very conservative, rural, etc. They are aplenty in metropolitan areas especially such as San Francisco Bay Area, L.A., Seattle, New York, Boston, Chicago, etc. You probably won't find many atheist clubs in colleges in rural Alabama.

It would be nice if you at least took the time to see if your local community college/university/etc has an atheist club and at least show up once to see if you like it or not. Most people, some who are "barely Christian/other religion" actually stick around for debate and some even abandon their previous faith and become an atheist.

Response to: Riots After World Series Posted October 30th, 2014 in General

Fires were set, buses' windows were shattered, a police car was vandalized, bottles were thrown at police, two people were shot, one person was stabbed, a police officer was badly hurt from fireworks exploding, fistfights broke out between people, graffiti was scrawled on some homes and businesses, and some businesses' windows were shattered. Multiple people were arrested, at least five or so.

Sounds like a riot to me.

Can you explain your logic here?

Vandalism of buses, a couch being set on fire, and a person allegedly being shot is not at least an entry-level riot?

They just set a couch on fire

Riots After World Series Posted October 30th, 2014 in General

There are reports of forms of riots occurring in the streets of San Francisco after the San Francisco Giants won against the Kansas City Royals at the World Series today.

From Twitter posts of police scanner reports, they say that just in the past few minutes and hour, that 3 buses were vandalized, with at least having its windows broken, and some Twitter posts talked about one person being shot and fires set in random places. It sounds pretty chaotic and this is all over a sports team winning. I understand their excitement but pretty dumb to act this way...

Atheist Clubs at Schools Posted October 29th, 2014 in General

Are any of you NG BBS regulars or users members of your local atheist/sketics club at your community/junior college, university, high school, etc?

At my community college's atheist/skeptics club, we discuss a lot about how religion is illogical and contradicts with science. Our atheist club also has a Facebook page and it has activity almost everyday, where members exchange information and interesting facts and articles from atheist websites. We have a few hundred members and it is growing each and everyday, surpassing the membership of a Christian club on campus. Most of our members are very eloquent, articulate and intelligent people who have goals to go on to a good university and pursue a career.

If you are a member of an atheist/skeptic/agnostic club or are interested in joining one, how is it like and what do you anticipate from one? Will you participate in atheist club activities and be interested in joining a larger regional or even national atheist organization?

People That Look The Same Posted July 28th, 2013 in General

There is a Chinese-American church in my city, and I have been there to visit friends who go there, so I attended it a couple of times over the years. The strange is, some of the men who attend the church look and dress exactly the same as some of the other people in the church. They have similar facial features, same hairstyle, same glasses, same clothes, same shoes, similar attitudes, and not only that, but they all have the same last names (usually Wang or Li). However, they are not related at all, but just happen to have the same last names because they're very common in China and Taiwan. Not only that, but two of them have the same first names (Michael), and also have the same last name, but are not related in any way, causing confusion. Those two people named Michael and bearing the same last name also look almost exactly the same and both have birthdays a few days apart.

Does anybody know people like this? For example, at your school or workplace, do you know anybody who looks exactly the same as at least one other person at the same place, and also behaves the same and dresses the same as that person?

Old People > Young People Posted July 24th, 2013 in General

Old people are better than young people. When I'm in an area with a lot of older people, I feel safe. Also, old people are generally more down-to-earth and more open minded than some young people, or at least the ones I've interacted with. Young people are more likely to be stupid, ignorant, and are more likely to cause violence.

Would You Name Your Son Michael Posted July 24th, 2013 in General

Michael is a good name. Let's say that you were going to have a baby son in the future, and obviously it was up to you or the baby's mother for the name. Would you think Michael would a suitable, good name? Do you like the name?

Why Do Americans Run Slower Posted July 19th, 2013 in General

so I live in the United States and I went to school in Europe for two years, and when they made kids run at the school in Europe, the kids ran faster than Americans. of course there are some athletic students here in the US too, but half of the American kids ran slowly and sluggishly, whereas in Europe only 1 out of the 30 kids was unable to run proficiently. maybe there's a reason why Americans tend to be slower at running?

But yeah, fuck this guy.

Pretty much. If he could kill all 310 million Americans somehow, with a bomb, he would do it and probably wouldn't feel bad about it. Would he feel remorseful later in life? Probably. No matter what, he knows what he did was wrong and he's a psychopath.

Dzhokhar is an idiot and all but I'm sure there are millions of people who would have done the same he did, but much worse. Many people just hate people because of their culture, ethnicity, political views, and religion, and want them all to die. Dzhokhar just happened to have the opportunity to do what he did.

Okay well I admit that some of it is fattening and greasy. however, the salsa is a different story. Lots of tomatoes used for that, pretty healthy.

However salsa can give you the shits..

Why Is Mexican Food Healthy Posted July 11th, 2013 in General

Ever noticed that Mexican food is fairly healthy compared to American food? I was in a humble Mexican restaurant a few months ago, and a man walked inside. He was talking a lot with the man who worked at the restaurant, and he made a comment saying Mexican food is healthy, because it has some vegetables in it unlike some American processed food, that lacks any substance of vegetables or fruit. The man also moved in the neighborhood of the Mexican restaurant, which was in a predominately Spanish-speaking neighborhood of mostly recent immigrants from Mexico. He used to live in a wealthy retirement community but I heard him say that the neighborhood was only an "old white people community" and he got bored of it so he moved to that part of town. He was kind of like an old, bespectacled hipster type guy.

So really, do you think Mexican food is healthy and good for you? Would it help you lose weight?
