Have you tried Save and Compact ?

When I do, flash crashes. Only on this file though.

I have a back-up, but I haven't updated it in a while. I won't be able to make the Halloween contest now. I'm really angry.

I can't do anything with my game. It wont let me export? What's wrong? I've been working on this thing for 8 months I can't lose this.

This is bad! I can't export my game! What is this and how do I fix it? I've never had this problem before. The .FLA is 230 MB, if that helps at all. How do I increase Flashes' virtual memory??

I made A's throughout all Algebra 1 and Geometry. I just started Algebra 2, it seems pretty easy. I'm 2 grade levels ahead too.

I have a button inside of a movie clip, and when it is pressed, I want a movie clip inside a different movie clip to go to a certain frame. I gave everything instance names, but it's not working.

In the button I have

on(press){
_root.handle.gotoAndStop(3);
}

Again, "handle" is a movie clip in another movie clip. The movie clip it is in - has an instance name of "inv". What code do I need to put on the button to make "handle" go to frame 3?

Looks pretty lame dude. I mean, there is almost no animation, everything just slides. You could put a ton of more time into this, graphic-wise. And as previously stated, you need to fix some collision errors. I also think the character's facial expressions should change a little, don't you?

Like that green alien said, download audacity and the lame_enc.dll file and export your sounds as MP3.

Download lame_enc.dll and export your sounds as MP3's.
They have smaller file sizes. For me, using .wavs make .swf files extremely large and causes a bit of lag.

When you open flash and import your sounds, right click on them in the library, change the compression to MP3, (if it isn't already) uncheck "Use Imported MP3 Quality," change the Bit rate to about 80-128, (Unless it's vocals, there is no noticeable quality change for me with these settings from the original recording) and keep the quality as "fast."

Sometimes, when your sounds are under a second long, Flash will not let you do this. You can only use imported MP3 quality. The best thing to do is just change the compression to raw. It won't kill your file size because the sound is so short anyways.
Also, sometimes, I haven't quite figured out why, but you can't use imported MP3 quality. I don't really care because I don't use that setting for compression anyway, but I still haven't figured out why you can't with some sounds.

I can view flash 8 just fine when it is maximized, but if I try to re-size the window, the whole thing disappears. The only way to get it back is to go down to the task bar and maximize it again. This has never happened before. What's wrong?

I am close to finishing my game, and I am releasing it around Halloween, and I was wondering... How do I get an offer from Newgrounds as a sponsor? Do they bid on games off FLG? If I ask them for a sponsorship, can I still have my game on FLG in case someone offers more?

I have brown hair, but there is a spot on the side that is about the size of a dime that hair grows out black. I've never dyed my hair, and it has been like this for 5-6 years. It hasn't really been a problem until I started cutting my hair shorter. I'm 14 btw. Does anyone else have this??? I couldn't find anything on Google.

By the way, I could care less what the computer case itself looks like.

Hi. I need a new computer! I want a computer that is good for gaming, that won't lag. The one I have now is a piece of crap. I also want the computer to have a good amount of space on it, and I want it to be really quiet. (Because I record a lot of stuff with my microphone and I don't want to be able to hear the computer fan across the room.) I already have the operating system disks (Win7 and Vista). My budget is around 1,200$, and I have no idea what I am doing... so maybe you guys can point me in the right direction?

I have vista and windows 7 OP disks. So I can install it. The thing is, I am retarded when it comes to computer parts, and I'd probably have to get someone to help me if I wanted to build my own. < Thats the problem. I don't know any computer-ish ppl.
